Reports of Fallon's death are greatly exaggerated. She's very much alive, surviving a through-and-through gunshot wound, and wants to ditch the hospital to tend to her company's free-fall. Jeff recovers in another ward but is alert enough to expose Brady's treachery to Dominique. Alexis is allowed caviar and pumps in prison but denied bail. Amanda begins to gather evidence that Adam murdered Dr. Larson. Blake manipulates the press again. Exiled Beto sees possibilities in a trashy look-alike of Cristal. Fallon gets Liam to admit how angry he still is with her before she collapses into a coma from an undetected infection.

Liam rallies the family to have Christmas conversations with comatose Fallon. His are about forgiveness; Kirby tries to stir emotion; Blake confesses vulnerability; Sam and Culhane get hung up on words and holiday decor. Jeff sets up an FBI sting to free Brady of his mob creditors, then sends him off for good. Adam scrambles to find an alibi for the night of the murder, barely keeping ahead of Amanda's diligent investigation. Dom visits Alexis in prison with bitter tidings. Blake decides to withdraw from the senate race. Fallon wavers at death's bright light, then wakes. Beto trains his new protege, Rita, how to behave like Cristal.

The annual Carrington gala hosts a wealth of new partnerships. Blake teams with Cristal to coerce a deal for his airfield before Beto kidnaps and replaces her with an impeccably coached Rita. Fallon is put on medical leave by her board, so she installs Jeff as the company's CEO and reheats her passion with Liam. Sam and Kirby try in vain to help Culhane find a soulmate. Amanda tracks footage from a drone that exonerates both her mother and Adam of Dr. Larson's death. Alexis is released from prison in time to attend the gala where she forces Adam to sign over his business and reconnects with an old acquaintance: handsome investor "Dex" Dexter.

Cristal remains Beto's hostage as her "twin", Rita, cons Blake to surrender Flores Incorporated. Fallon rediscovers a love of horses when Sam mentors her into a joining an equestrian foundation to find personal fulfillment. Unfortunately, this brings out her competitive streak as she bids for a prize mare against rival, Patti DeVilbis. Culhane's animosity with Nina, a filmmaker, nearly derails Liam's shot to adapt his novel for the screen. Jeff settles in as head of Fallon Unlimited while Kirby becomes the muse for Dominique's next fashion line. Amanda's distrust of Dex gives Alexis second thoughts on her impetuous romance with him. Fallon's recent dream of starting a family is met with disappointing ambiguity by Liam.

Sam's dalliance with a shallow trendsetter tests his partnership with Culhane and new friendship with Daniel, a horse trainer staying at La Mirage. Family ties edge out business ones when Dominique and Jeff clash over an exclusivity clause in her Fallon Unlimited contract. Liam and Fallon hop from manor to manor in order to find the perfect spot to conceive a child. Blake refuses to transfer the rights for Flores Inc, which prompts Rita to poison him and come on to Adam. Daniel claims that Sam is his son.

Blake's suspicion of Rita and the Flores deal spur him to action. He frees captive Cristal after shutting down Beto's plots with a con of his own. Fallon and Jeff combine methods to regain Morrell Energy when they expose green washing fraud by its current owners, the DeVilbis family. Sam chooses to accept Daniel after learning of his troubled past in Caracas. Culhane and Nina tangle once more securing a shoot date for Liam's film. Amanda poses as Kirby's date to help her reconnect with a modeling agency. Patti DeVilbis aims on destroying Fallon.

Jealousy sets the mood for a new week at the manor. Cristal's post traumatic stress surfaces when paired with Alexis at a seminar for women executives (a hot dog challenge assigned to them quickly deteriorates into a condiment fight). A romantic triangle forms between Kirby, her female agent Charlie, and Amanda. Blake's fatherly position is threatened so he does a deep dive on Daniel to prove he is only after Sam's money. Fallon has difficulty masking her corporate side when shadowed by an image-sensitive actress that Liam and Culhane are pursuing for the lead in their film. Jeff discovers company sabotage responsible for a wetlands oil spill. Sam seeks out Daniel to apologize and finds him at the stable, doubled over in pain with a syringe.

Bets are high at Atlanta's Peachtree Stakes where Fallon's steed, Allegra, races against Patti's. Culhane dates Sasha, Kirby's colleague, and learns both models are being bilked by their agent, Charlie. Dex pushes Alexis and Adam to see a therapist and address their mother/son issues. Cristal advises Amanda to embrace being a Carrington and follow Blake's lead in dealing with a difficult doctor at the hospital. The death of a vibrant friend Jeff met in recovery inspires him to seek retribution. Following Allegra's victory, trainer Daniel sets Sam straight about his drug use: it's for cancer, not an addiction. Fallon finds both glory in her win (as usual) and humility to trust others (a first).

Alexis, Adam, and Sam navigate numerous obstacles (lack of product, bad PR, and self doubt) to launch Alexiam's face cream. Blake feels his age until he and Cristal are invited to swing with Sonya, a former Yale classmate, and her husband. Jeff resigns from Morell Green Energy to pursue a pharmaceutical firm's unethical prices that prevented his friend's treatment. Fallon, stinging from his exit and her current infertility, tries to help him by extorting data from a chemist at the drug company. Amanda's failed attempt to rescue Kirby from a crooked modeling contract results in an emotional confession and their first romantic kiss.

Cameras roll on "The Biggest Payday" but Liam (as writer) finds himself banned from the set until he bypasses Culhane (the producer) and Nina (the director) to accommodate the star, making himself invaluable. Fallon juggles Alexis and Dominique's egos as both claim a prime time slot on her shopping network. One televised cat fight later and she leverage's the spectacle's high ratings to get them to work together. Jeff holds a shipment of imported cosmetics ingredients hostage so his nemesis, Adam, will use his medical credentials to help him infiltrate Plenexia Pharmaceuticals. Daniel's chemotherapy was not successful so Sam and Blake convince him to spend his last days in Atlanta.

Fallon and Liam journey to Idaho in search of Sam's guilt-ridden mother, Iris, to convince her to return to Atlanta. Her initial reluctance to leave her church causes the Ridleys to pose as a nympho nun and an enlightened priest as they come to terms with their own religious differences. Jeff and Adam gain a begrudging respect for each other when they steal and post a price-inflated drug formula from Plenexia. Dominique designs the costumes for "Biggest Payday" as Culhane and Nina's bickering starts to turn to passion. Amanda moves into the manor after Blake and Cristal agree to be supportive parents in contrast with Alexis's vindictiveness. Daniel dies with his true love, Iris, and son, Sam, at his side.

Crisis triggers romance and heartache at Carrington manor. PPA business trumps marriage when Cristal goes over Blake's head to strike a game-changing deal with Sonya. Liam realizes his film's plot reflects buried history with Culhane and makes amends before production wraps. Amanda's heated battles with Adam at the hospital draw her and Kirby closer together at home. A night trapped in a panic room forces Alexis and Fallon to level up about their insecurities as mother and daughter and how to face the future. Once the doors are unlocked, Alexis accepts an engagement ring from Dex and Fallon deals with the medical diagnosis that she can never carry a baby.

Fallon's attempts to turn Blake's airport "Morell green" by setting environmentalists (and an endangered tortoise) on the grounds are halted by Cristal, who offers hard love and empathy as a compromise. Jeff resumes his crusade against corrupt corporations. Sam is convinced that self-involved Sasha is the wrong woman for Culhane and does not have to go far to prove himself right. Amanda and Kirby find some alone time when they accidentally stowaway on a PPA jet. Liam's mother, Laura, swoops back into Atlanta, disturbing everyone in her path. She tries to guilt her son, taunt Fallon, and strong arm Adam until an overdose of cosmetic injections leaves her face-frozen dead, impaled on a stiletto.

Another wedding stirs more chaos than bliss. The bride, Alexis, tries to smooth over her tarnished reputation with Dex's father, Samir, by inviting both exes (Blake and Jeff) to the ceremony. Fallon juggles her search for the perfect surrogate and business negotiations between duties as Maid of Honor. Blake, Cristal, and Sam vet potential enemies among the guests (including crazy Claudia Blaisdel who slips by security with a coffee mug for the new couple.) Dominique crashes the reception to show off her portfolio. Adam's plot to break up Kirby and Amanda is thwarted when they announce their relationship during the congratulatory toast. Blake's hated brother, Ben, appears as bouquets are tossed and gauntlets thrown down.

Ben Carrington is an attractive, shrewd art dealer hell-bent on proving he was not responsible for his mother's death some twenty years prior; a notion Blake will not even consider. Fallon gets so paranoid when her pregnant surrogate, Stacey, goes on an archaeology dig that she turns to Adam to help sabotage it. Jeff enlists Amanda to track the owner of ColbyCo's lost holdings, but she withholds information after learning it is Blake. Dominique is swayed to hear Ben's agenda. Sam becomes an irrational diva, tasking Culhane and Kirby to throw a last minute Gay Pride bash at the Sahara Club. Ben is foiled at pinning a Vermeer forgery on Blake so he sues for half of the dynasty instead.

Fallon favors theft while Cristal leans towards bargaining as they try to get archived files that can be used against Blake. Adam steps in for an ailing Alexis at her FSN broadcast, but she mistakenly suspects he poisoned her to do so. Ben dupes Dominique to leak fake legal strategies that mislead Blake. Culhane starts an affair with Geneva Abbott, widow of the racketeer that he and Sam electrocuted. Liam has writer's block and seeks advice from his former professor. Fallon sees her underhanded methods won't leave a positive legacy, so she chooses Cristal as a mentor and her unborn baby's godmother. Alexis steals the late Anders's dossier on the Carringtons and hands it over to Ben.

It is brother vs brother as the bench trial for the Carrington dynasty gets underway. Proceedings center around an alleged note Ben left for Blake on the night of their mother's drowning. Witnesses include Heather (Fallon and Steven's nanny and Blake's ex-mistress), Alexis, Fallon, and Kirby (verifying the note was hidden in Anders's files). The judge rules in favor of Blake, but Ben is absolved of deliberate negligence. Liam ghost-writes a submission essay for Professor Kingston's nephew. Jeff and Culhane aid Kirby in retrieving her stolen diary, which she then burns. Adam and Stacey find mutual attraction. Dominique wins an impressive contract to design an airline's crew uniforms. Guilt over Leo Abbott's demise causes Culhane to break up with Geneva. Ben rejects Blake's amends, and vows to make future conflicts.

Six months have passed but the Carringtons still cannot avoid turmoil. Liam fails to meet the deadline on his new book so he checks into La Mirage where he gains film noir nightmares but no new pages. Culhane and Nina resume their adversarial relationship at "The Biggest Payday" premiere until Dominique pushes them to realize they are in love. Jeff hacks into PPA's mainframe to force Blake to sell back ColbyCo assets (which Cristal and Amanda then arrange without Blake's approval). Adam's need to provide for Stacey warps him into risking her pregnancy so Fallon will help reinstate him as hospital Chief of Staff. Professor Kingston suddenly dies leaving behind a brilliant, unpublished manuscript that Liam considers claiming as his own work.

Fallon squares off against Atlanta snobs who oppose a racy bachelor auction to benefit Heroic Hooves, a horse charity. Even with Culhane, Sam, and Liam up for bid, the event nearly fails until Jeff raises the ante and donations roll in. Alexis and Dex argue over how to handle the FDA's investigation into Adam's dangerous cosmetic drugs. Dominique learns the dark side of fame when she's threatened by a stalker and assigned a hunky, overzealous bodyguard. Liam submits the novel he plagiarized to his publisher. Blake fixes Adam's problem by switching drug samples, but Alexis can no longer endure her son's betrayals and turns him over to DEA agents.

Sam and Culhane discover a call girl service at La Mirage and recruit Liam to help set a sting that will rid them of it. Blake and Cristal argue about cutting ties with Adam when PPA's business is damaged by the Alexam drug scandal. Alexis abducts daughters Fallon and Amanda for a day trip to Charleston so she can mend their strained relationships with roadside diners, "Annie" singalongs, and confessions of past sins. Kirby's rigorous honesty goes awry when Jeff learns she was aware of plots against ColbyCo. Sam reconnects with stripper/law student Ryan, whose police uniform comes in handy dealing with the hookers. Jeff's new girlfriend is a spy for his Plenexia foes. Blake orders disturbed Adam to move out of the manor.

Alexis's lavish baby shower for Fallon and Liam heightens wins and losses for the entire family. Blake seeks Jeff's tech prowess to locate a lost PPA flight rather than report it to the FAA. Culhane uses movies to propose to Nina, while Sam uses tarot to end his fling with Ryan. Amanda resolves a quarrel with Kirby just as her ex, Florence, arrives from London. Vital ColbyCo data Jeff entrusted to Dominique is stolen. Stacey reveals the Ridley baby is a girl, then severs ties with Adam when his psychotic nature comes to light. Fallon's decision to buy Morell Green Energy outright prompts a company takeover by a conniving board member. Liam is blackmailed over his plagiarized novel. The downed plane's passenger manifest includes Dex. Cristal hires a new majordomo named Graham whose uncanny efficiency extends to kidnapping a defeated Adam.

Amanda is offered a job at a top UK law firm, as Kirby steps aside. Liam credits the true author of his novel. Blake and Cristal reconcile. Steven reunites with Sam and Fallon, just as baby Lauren is born. The family buys Fallon's company before the board ousts her, returning it to a privately owned business. Six months later: LA bound Culhane weds Nina at the manor; Alexis and Dominique open competing stores in NYC; Jeff goes global; Adam assumes a new identity as a London veterinarian; Kirby and Amanda re-couple; Liam pens kids books; Blake and Fallon join dynasties at the renamed Carrington United.
