Alexis, as District Attorney Jake Dunham's surprise witness, takes the stand and accuses her ex-husband, Blake, of nearly killing her lover and of using his power and wealth to prevent her from seeing her children. Meanwhile, Fallon and Steven are shocked to see their mother for the first time since they were very young. Krystle becomes ill at hearing Alexis's testimony and leaves. Andrew is furious when Blake refuses to allow him to cross-examine Alexis. Later: Krystle clashes with Joseph; and then she and Fallon cross swords. Alexis gives Steven a gift. Blake visits Claudia in the hospital, but she is in low spirits after discovering her husband left her and took their daughter with him.

The Verdict

Blake is appalled when he is found guilty of manslaughter. The district attorney, Jake Dunham, is appalled that the jury recommended no jail time. He tries to get Alexis to give him more to use against Blake. Steven visits Claudia at the hospital; but she wants none of him. Fallon and Krystle clash the morning after Krystle returns to Blake's bed. Alexis visits Blake at the office, wanting him to reconcile with Steven. Later, she makes a surprising choice of living arrangements.

Alexis' Secret

Krystle, the current Mrs. Carrington, meets Alexis, the former Mrs. Carrington; and the meeting is not friendly. Blake is forced to visit his probation officer, just like any other criminal. Andrew tries to convince Alexis to sell the studio; he informs her that Blake cut Steven out of his will. Claudia tries to kill herself with an overdose of pills; Blake hires Dr. Nick Toscanni to care for her. Krystle informs Fallon that she's pregnant, which inspires her to try and get pregnant herself.

Fallon's Father

Krystle is furious when she learns that Alexis ordered the gardener to cut the roses she wanted to give to Claudia; she confronts Alexis in the latter's studio and discovers she is using the roses as a subject for her painting. Nick visits Claudia, but she resists the psychiatrist's attempts to draw her out. Alexis reveals to Cecil that he is the true father of Fallon; he is appalled to remember that he almost slept with her. A drunken Steven visits his father and afterward has a serious accident.

Reconciliation

Steven comes out of his coma and goes back home to live with his father; but his memory is somewhat impaired. Krystle is upset to learn that Alexis is now staying at the house to be with her son. Nick tries to reassure her that Alexis is no threat to her marriage; but Krystle is not so confident. Krystle's brother-in-law (the husband of her dead sister) sends his lovely teenage daughter, Sammy Jo, to stay with her Aunt Krystle. She immediately takes a liking to Steven. Also: Cecil calls in his loan to Blake; and Nick offends Claudia when he tells her she should wait before saying hello to Steven.

Viva Las Vegas

Sammy Jo is frightened by a storm and goes into Steven's room to talk. She can't wake him, so she climbs into his bed. The next morning, he is surprised to wake up next to her. Later, Alexis is dismayed when she sees Sammy Jo coming out of Steven's room. Blake goes to Las Vegas to meet with a gangster about selling 45% of his team. Fallon stows away on his private jet, and later shows up uninvited to his meeting. Jeff, angry with Cecil, leaves his job at the company. He also plans to leave the marriage with Fallon - a marriage he believes Cecil manipulated into being. Fallon doesn't help matters by secretly cheating on him with Nick. Krystle is injured when she is thrown from her horse, which puts her unborn baby in jeopardy. She believes the sound of a backfire caused the horse to rear. What she doesn't know is that Alexis, who had just finished skeet shooting, deliberately fired her gun in order to cause the accident.

The Miscarriage

Krystle loses the baby, but even worse news is held from her: she can't have another. Steven goes stock car racing with Sammy Jo's friends. The experience excites him, and he nearly goes to bed with Sammy Jo. Later, he tells Claudia about the encounter, and explains that he couldn't go through with it because the person he really loved was she. Alexis overhears Blake talking about his business troubles and devises a scheme.

The Mid-East Meeting

Weeks after Krystle's miscarriage, she is unable to recover from the loss and frustrates Blake as she sinks deeper into depression. Blake insists that she see Nick professionally, but she blows off her appointment. Meanwhile, Fallon discovers she is pregnant and takes immediate steps to have an abortion. In Rome, Alexis has a rendezvous with Sheik Rashid Ahmed as part of her plan to end the embargo on the Denver Carrington oil tankers.

The Psychiatrist

Alexis lures Blake to Rome in the hopes of making a vitally important business deal with Rashid Ahmed; but Alexis has more on her mind than just business. Soon the tabloid, Reveal, has pictures of Blake and Alexis on its cover, and a copy of it reaches the eyes of Krystle as she waits in Nick's office for an appointment. Krystle tears out of the office, but Nick catches up with her and ends up making her dinner. Meanwhile, Fallon tries to get an abortion despite Jeff's interference. Sammy Jo arranges another drag race for Steven.

Sammy Jo and Steven Marry

Krystle believes Blake slept with Alexis in Italy. Her feelings of betrayal nearly lead her to go to bed with Nick, who professes his feelings for her. Meanwhile: Ray Bonning comes to Denver to persuade Blake to sell the rest of his football team. Steven and Sammy Jo elope.

The Car Explosion

She deliberately allows Krystle to believe the worst. Meanwhile: Blake tries to persuade Fallon and Jeff not to divorce. Rhinewood's henchman, Bonning, tries to issue orders to Blake's football team. Blake begins to suspect that Nick has something against him.

Blake's Blindness

Blake is blind after a couple of unknown men drove past him and threw dynamite in his car before he got into it. Jeff saved his life by pushing him out of the way, but he couldn't prevent the injury to Blake's vision. Now, the doctor tells Blake that the blindness may be psychological, but Blake won't listen. In fact, he isn't taking his new disability well at all and rages at everyone close to him, including his majordomo, Joseph. He really blows up when he receives a gift from "L.R." It's a blind man's cane. Clearly the gangster, Logan Rhinewood, is taunting him for what he himself is responsible for. Meanwhile: Krystle asks Nick to leave her alone. Sammy Jo finds out that Fallon is not really Blake's daughter.

The Hearing

Alexis has a scheme to win Nick back for Fallon and turn Blake against Krystle, and it involves a note composed with letters cut from a magazine. A sex-starved Fallon can't get Nick (her first choice) or even her husband, Jeff (her distant second choice), to sleep with her. Jeff uncovers information about Nick's half-brother. Blake attends the Senate committee hearing, but Logan Rhinewood does not. Nick tries to convince Krystle that Blake is getting his sight back, but she won't leave Blake until she is certain.

Alexis is building a reception tent for her wedding on the Carrington estate which angers Blake. Her wedding plans are threatened when Cecil Colby has a heart attack when they are in bed together. Claudia is getting deeper and deeper into a confused mental state and seems to be planning something. Farouk tells Nick Toscanni that Blake was in country during Nick's brothers arrest for drug smuggling and Blake refused to give a bribe for his release before he hanged himself. Nick now blames Blake and he tracks Blake down at a retreat where they fight. Later Nick leaves Blake in the mountains where he fell off his horse down a cliff. While this is happening, Fallon's baby is kidnapped.
