Dream Dad

Kind-hearted veterinarian from Batangas Sebastian "Baste" Javier (Zanjoe Marudo) chose to succeed his father Eliseo (Ariel Ureta) as the president of ENS Dairy Corporation, to preserve his parents' strained relationship. With help from trusted friend Michael (Ketchup Eusebio) and his devoted executive assistant Alex (Beauty Gonzalez), Baste transforms himself from a boardroom neophyte into a learned businessman. But the decision has a painful cost: Angel (Neri Naig), his one great love. Left with a broken heart, Baste meets Baby (Jana Cassandra Agoncillo), a wide-eyed orphan who believes that he is her long-lost father. The two are forced to work together when Baby suddenly bags the much-coveted role of the new face of Wink Milk, flagship product of Baste's company. Baby begins to see through Baste's pain and, in him, the father she longed for all her life. Even with the knowledge that he isn't her biological father, she chooses to help him piece his heart back together, and in the process Baste learns to trust and gambles on love again. Eventually, Baste and his assistant Alex fall in love and start planning their wedding. Consequently, the two bond in an unlikely love story between a bachelor relearning to love the simple joys in life and a kid whose spirit does not know how to stop loving. In the series, Baste was able to become Baby's adoptive father despite the presence of her biological mother Bebeth (Yen Santos). In the end, Baste realizes that behind every great man, and every great father--by blood, or otherwise--is a family that never fails to support him despite all his shortcomings.

The Big C

4 Seasons
Cathy Jamison is a suburban Minneapolis high school teacher, wife and mother with less than a perfect life, despite it perhaps seeming so to much of the outside world. Her life is given a major shock when she is diagnosed with melanoma, the first news of such to her being when it is at advanced stage IV, meaning that she will most likely succumb to it within short order barring some extreme or radical intervention. Cathy goes through a myriad of emotions concerning the diagnosis, including how she will deal with it in relation to family, friends and people close to her in other ways. These people include: Paul Jamison, her college sweetheart husband, who is often just another big kid in their relationship, while Cathy has acted the responsible adult; Adam Jamison, Cathy and Paul's teenaged son who is going through typical issues of being a teenager and only child; Sean Tolkey, Cathy's hyper-environmental anti-establishment brother, who chooses to be homeless to live off the grid and who abhors what he sees as Cathy's bourgeois suburban lifestyle; her students, such as Andrea Jackson, who openly stands her ground on any issue, including her weight problem and her African-American background; and her elderly seemingly crotchety female long-time neighbor, who Cathy has not made the effort to know despite their close proximity for years.
