However, Benjamin proves all but unwitting and even Chloe not quite heartless.

That turns out to be a habit which James now finds out about and can't stand, so he wants to return from Hollywood, but his assistant insists he must first save his image. June finds that everybody lies to her, even family and church.

He decides against joining Chloe on the annual Hamptons surprise party of the year, thrown by the elusive Willoughby, who accidentally bumps into June and is taken with her, but she only cares for a Wall Street job application. James bumps into Eli, who just broke up with his rich girlfriend, so they drown their troubles in alcohol, faithfully chaperoned by Luther and Robin.

Also, James does a community outreach gig helping out a downtown girl who is bullied by her peers, but his less than heroic efforts leave her stranded.

Yet in a dream, Charo offers Chloe a go at revenge, but it turns out most crucial to face her true feelings for June.
