After getting into the proper attire which includes comfortable easy moving clothes and suitable footwear, the boys are then given the basics, including learning rules of the game and learning the terminology such as "bonspiel", "end", "rocks" or "stones", parts of each "sheet" such as the "house" and parts of it such as the "button", "hack", and the team positions such as "skip" and the responsibility of each of the four positions during different aspects of a game. They are then taught how to do the two physical aspects of the game, namely delivering stones from the hack, and sweeping. On two opposing teams each with three of their instructors as teammates, Rob and Sean have an actual eight end game.
