Joe visits a dying author and his three warring daughters. Emily tries to share her diagnosis with friends in Boston by phone. Daniel and Archie's rivalry escalates. Nick and Emily have lunch.

Michelle finds a homeless man, whose only word is her name. It turns out she did know him 10 years ago. Daniel and Archie face dismissal for the fight. George begs Ronnie to continue counselling. Joe reaches a decision for Emily's sake.

Joe tells Daniel he and Emily are leaving for Boston, then breaks it to Julia and Nick. Ronnie is contacted by a 15 year old who wants to change his name without telling his parents. Daniel and Archie are back at work and being teased.

Everybody misses Joe and Julia worries Daniel will be trouble. Archie makes a house call to a woman with a nosy cleaner. At the station, a homeless lady off her meds demands to see Jimmi. She gets upset about him and Eva and drinks more.

Stabbed in the Back

Eva investigates the attack Jimmi's patient witnessed. Melody begs Archie to ignore Daniel, who tells a trucker he needs time off work for an operation: but his boss and his wife think he should move the appointment. The Mill's endangered.

Eye of the Beholder

Michelle gets a shock when she treats a woman at a remote house. Maisie is scared or reprisals and does not want to talk to Eva about what she saw, despite Jimmi's support. Ronnie and George continue with their fragile living arrangements.

And the Winner Is...

Vivien gets annoying phone calls about a competition and one of the nurses gets a mystery gift. At the station, Jimmi encourages Maisie to focus on the case, not him and Eva and their lost baby. George tries to rush Ronnie.

Searching

Nick treats a troubled girl in care, who wants to see her mother, but her situation is not all that simple. Daniel helps George to get a discreet test. Maisie does not give up on Jimmi and Eva, but Eva gives Jimmi some unexpected news.

Archie treats a grumpy traffic warden near retirement, who would rather see a doctor. Julia and Vivien think life is too quiet, then Julia hears something interesting at the PCT meeting. Eva is keeping away from Jimmi before her move.

Jimmi is determined to prove himself, but his police surgeon lecture doesn't go to plan. Melody reassures an anxious young mum, but the head of the mother and baby unit comes in with serious concerns leading Melody and Julia to butt heads.

Melody stops to help a wheelchair user after she is attacked and misses Julia's staff meeting on their bid for The Campus Surgery. The patient's new neighbour offers to keep an eye, but her doting cousin says she wants to be independent.

Ronnie seems unmoved by George's test results. Vivien cannot believe her friend from the WI is suddenly going to Hong Kong with her brother. Melody encourages Julia to involve Daniel in the Campus bid, but it backfires.

Jimmi bumps into a new mum, whose husband is a soldier returning home to meet his son. Eva and a fast tracked graduate search for a baby boy taken from hospital. A dramatic turn of events could alter Jimmi and Eva's futures.

The Hex

Archie gives travel jabs to a man who believes his partner's daughter has put a curse on him: he then gets sick. Julia is snowed under preparing the bid and Michelle helps Ruth try to secure her job. Ronnie gets jealous all over again.

Ronnie takes George to a wife swapping party, but doesn't tell her what kind of party it is. She's a bit shocked.

Little Brother

It's the day of the big pitch to the PCT and Julia's running round like a headless chicken. When Nick gets involved in the aftermath of a stabbing, she is forced to rely on Daniel for the presentation. Ronnie and George are finally happy.

Larp

Michelle's perplexed when a barbarian warrior comes in for treatment. Someone has to step in when he battles an elf in reception over an elfin princess. Julia is on edge all day waiting to hear if they have won The Campus Surgery contract.

Ruth is nervous about beginning her receptionist training under a fierce Vivien. Melody helps a pregnant friend who worries her husband is drinking again. Eva investigates a hit and run. Nick goes for a walk.

Making Your Bed

A woman drags her husband in to see Nick about his apparent impotence, then Nick's next patient is the same man's secretary, who is pregnant. Nick tries to get the man to take charge of his situation.

Making a Splash

Ronnie and Eva go head to head on a live radio show and everyone is listening with interest. Julia keeps a close eye as the new campus surgery is decorated and Ruth gets to grips with the computer booking system.

Photo Finish

Jimmi invites a famous ex-student to the grand re-opening of The Campus Surgery. Everyone is there, but the day takes a shocking turn when a dead body is found. Ruth seems to know something and Eva considers her and Julia to be suspects.

Cat Fight

The police still have The Campus Surgery cordoned off and Julia worries the reputation of the practice is ruined. Archie visits an asthmatic man who needs to get rid of his cat for the sake of his health. Jimmi asks Eva to change her mind.

Friends Like These

Ruth is feeling under pressure at The Campus and Michelle reassures her. Daniel is worried about an addict not taking his medication and being influenced by an army buddy. Michelle is impressed when Davey brings Ruth flowers.

At The Campus, Melody treats a film studies student hinting she may be sleeping her way to better grades, another with headaches and a lecturer in about teeth grinding. Jimmi makes one last attempt to persuade Eva to stay (he sings).

Hush Little Baby

Davey has charge of Ruth's surgery keys. Vivien goes to war with the bus company. A pregnant woman, living in a squat comes in; Ruth is tempted to help the man who comes in searching for her. Eva tries to make Jimmi's flat feel like home.

Sweet Success

Ruth is still unnerved by the surgery-of-death stigma. Vivien resolves to pass a driving test and buy a car. Nick calls in a patient who runs a chocolate shop, to reduce her medication. Her son has a rash he says is from all the chocolate.

The Ticking Clock

Eva makes Jimmi an offer, then he advises Vivien at a car auction. Julia needs ideas to save the reputation of The Campus Surgery. George gives bad news to a pregnant woman, who blames her cheating ex, not her handsome lecturer partner.

What the World Needs Now

Eva cracks down on drugs gangs, but also goes head-to-head with the local vicar. Vivien is delighted with her new car, but the male staff make fun of her and dent her confidence. Everyone goes to Julia's for a tense brain storming session.

Holding On

Julia has a hangover, but still has to give Vivien a driving lesson. Michelle tries to find out why Ruth couldn't come to the staff meeting at Julia's. Melody sees a woman with gallstones, who refuses treatment and has a family secret.

Life's a Beach

Archie 's favourite deli is targeted by environmental health after students at a beach party fall ill. Jimmi is upset that Eva has gone ahead and advertised his flat for sale. Vivien looks around for a replacement driving instructor.

It's a Sin

Vivien channels her inner Jeremy Clarkson for her driving lesson with Jimmi. Everyone else is at the university promoting the surgery: Michelle has a battle over a couple who think contraception is a sin and Davey keeps an eye on Ruth.

Nick sees a face from the past who insists on getting an appointment with him. A mysterious man is also keen to see Nick. Davey continues to control Ruth in secret. Jimmi has to give Vivien another driving lesson and view a house with Eva.

Archie and Daniel play off against each other treating an arts student hiding a dark secret. Julia wants Nick to make more of an effort mentoring Melody. Ruth tries to get out of drinks with Davey and Michelle.

A couple with a love/hate relationship need George's help. The husband sees a doctor, then has news for his wife. Michelle and Ruth are awkward after Davey's behaviour the night before. Melody takes steps to get Nick to mentor her properly

DI Eva rushes to the rescue when Jimmi gets stuck on a 786 bus with a suspected suicide bomber, a racist, a pregnant woman and a Catholic old lady. Vivien and Melody both stress over upcoming tests, but Melody has a plan to help Ruth.

Ruth joins Michelle and Melody for a girls' night in and make-over, but hasn't told Davey. Vivien attends a driving theory class and meets a woman whose religious sister is convinced she will die that night. Ruth regrets drinking too much.

Ruth tries to hide what Davey did. Michelle wants her to open up and admit he is controlling her, but Melody advises caution. Julia's friend has dementia and her blind daughter is back for an important day on top of her media appearances.
