Lawyer Markus Gellert defends a fan fiction author who is accused of murdering an investment fraudster. Meanwhile, lawyer Isa von Brede takes care of a former client of the firm who is being harassed by her neighbors.

Episode 2
Silke asks her daughter Charlie and Marcus to help Charlie's brother Daniel who is suspected of involvement with an armed robbery on a gas station. Daniel claims that his car and gun were stolen by two 'friends' who have told during the interrogation that Daniel was the driver of the getaway car. Daniel is on probation and that makes the case more awkward. His pal Timo could give him an alibi but refuses to speak. Marcus, who has a hidden relation with Barbara, doesn't like it when his old love Silke flirts with him. Elder woman Hildegard did get a heart attack during the performance of the naked theater in an old people's home. Her children now sue that home that on its turn tries to blame the theater company. Marion feels disappointed by her daughter Isabel who decides to represent the theater company instead of Marion's friend Hildegard. Demir asks Isabel that he ponders about the status of their relation.

Episode 3
Marcus repels talkative Silke. Because Daniel's former jail friend 'Wolle' was fooled he cracked a safe; Charlie and Marion investigate illegally. By hostage Mahmud stopped Achmed, suspected of torturing in Syria, from fleeing Germany.

Episode 4
Judge Greinert has to pace up; he complaints and lawyer Isa defends his style of judging. Marcus represents paramedic Kolbe who is accused of recklessly driving an ambulance. Marion urges Charlie to have a clarifying talk with her mother.

Isa represents an elderly gentleman whose son wants to force him to give up his driving license forever because he has been diagnosed with early-stage Alzheimer's. Meanwhile, Gellert accidentally meets a Polish forced prostitute who was seriously injured while fleeing from her pimps and has no health insurance.

Episode 6
Isa is disappointed by Demir. To distract her she represents Anja who is not allowed to get the frozen sperm of her recently deceased husband. Neighbors Maja and Helga have a row about a cat. Method actor Bodo accompanies the lawyers.

Episode 7
Nicole is abused by Kosta but she defends him. Wolle threatens Kosta. Civil guard leader Horst is reanimated by refugee Omari; guard members accuse him of burglary. Mutual relation between Omari's son Kyano and Horst's daughter Carolin.

Episode 8

A new client of the firm has spread false allegations about a local politician on social media. The politician is not prepared to put up with this any longer and has filed a complaint against the woman for insult and slander. Isa and Gellert advise her to accept the court's sentence or to apologize to the man in the hope that he will withdraw the complaint. But their hysterical client shows no sense of guilt, continues to spread confused conspiracy theories and seriously believes that they are trying to silence her. Full of panic, lawyer Gisbert suddenly turns up at the firm. He claims that he is being followed, then he tells them about his new client: a contract killer. He urgently advised the killer to cooperate with the authorities and reveal his client in order to reduce the sentence. He then received anonymous death threats and got hold of a gun with which he shot a man who tried to break into his house a few hours ago. Now he needs legal help. Isa and Gellert decide to represent their old arch enemy and thus find themselves in the crosshairs of organized crime. When their car, which is parked in front of the courthouse, is shot at, they take cover: With the help of public prosecutor Geldermann, the law firm's team moves into a model house in the middle of nowhere. Including lawyer Rottmann, who soon gets on everyone's nerves. In this situation, Isa makes a grave mistake: Under the pretext of wanting to walk her dog Teddy, she meets up with her boyfriend Demir. Isa wants to hug him, but he rejects her. While he is trying to explain to her what is going on, a sack is pulled over her head and she is kidnapped.

Judge Greinert is in serious trouble and needs the law firm's help: He is accused of negligent bodily harm. At a golf tournament organized by the Hamburg judiciary, his ball is said to have hit the presiding judge Ziedrich on the head and sent him to hospital. Public prosecutor Heckner suspects that he did it intentionally and pleads for attempted murder. The background: Greinert filed a lawsuit against Ziedrich in the disciplinary court some time ago because she had accused him of working too slowly - and lost the case. Isa von Brede takes over the case. Supported by assistant Charlie and her mother Marion, she investigates the question of who would have a motive to harm the presiding judge and at the same time discredit the judge as the perpetrator. In her private life, Isa is at a crossroads: because she feels betrayed by her lover Demir, the grandson of a clan leader, she ends the relationship. In a second case, lawyer Markus Gellert is standing up for his son. Viktor has been reported for breaking into a gaming company where he worked as an intern. He wanted to download his own files from the company computer the night after his dismissal. He says the reason for this is that company boss Nino Nakato would otherwise use them for his own purposes without payment. The star of the gaming scene is said to have long been passing off his interns' designs for characters, landscapes and cities as his own. Assistant Charlie tries to prove that Viktor is telling the truth and reveals to him more or less in passing that they have a common father.

Isa von Brede and Markus Gellert represent Achim Voss, who is a volunteer football coach for a group of asylum seekers from Sierra Leone. The city wants to award him an integration prize for his commitment. When he wants to celebrate the good news in the clubhouse, he learns from his players that they are to be deported - even though they have all learned German and now have a job. Suddenly the police turn up in front of the club. Voss stands up to the officers and helps his boys escape. He is now charged with resisting a law enforcement officer and obstruction of justice. At the same time, the lawyers are taking on a woman who was forcibly admitted to a psychiatric hospital. Her sister wants to get her out of the clinic, but she is denied access. The head of the psychiatric department claims that she is too unstable to receive visitors. It is detrimental to her recovery. The patient developed her bipolar disorder during puberty, which is controlled with medication and does not prevent her from being a successful painter. The law firm's client is convinced that her sister's husband is behind the admission. The man wants to be appointed as a long-term carer in order to gain access to his wife's assets. Then Charlie comes up with a crazy idea: she wants to admit herself and try to make contact with the patient.

Isa von Brede represents Aurelia Ambach, a well-known author who is resisting her publisher publishing her new novel. Because she found the text terribly bad, she had thrown "the piece of work" in the trash. But her editor has fished the manuscript out of the bin and is planning to publish the book against the author's wishes. He takes the view that the novel basically belongs to the publisher because the author has already received advances. Isa's mother Marion is a great admirer of her client, but she has to admit that the manuscript lacks its old power and quality. Little by little, Isa wins the trust of the writer, who tells her about her creative crisis and her great fear of having dementia. The law firm's second case also revolves around aging: Lawyer Markus Gellert is fighting in court for a Hamburg architect whose young ex-wife suddenly wants to have joint custody of their son revoked. He is said to be too old and too frail to look after the child. In fact, the man is suffering from serious hip problems because he has been putting off an unavoidable operation for years. Marion von Brede and assistant Charlie find out that the ex-wife now has a new boyfriend with whom she wants to start a company in Dortmund. Marion in particular is very eager to do her research because she mistakenly fears that the law firm wants to replace her with a younger employee. Markus Gellert invites public prosecutor Barbara Geldermann to a restaurant to propose to her over a glass of champagne. Suddenly a man appears who abruptly interrupts the romantic moment: Tobias Geldermann.

Episode 12

A young woman was incapacitated and sexually abused by a man with knockout drops. She had worked as a hostess at a party and served the guests to finance her studies. After being examined in hospital, she reported the crime to the police. But the police have no choice, because the perpetrator enjoys diplomatic immunity as an embassy employee, which he apparently exploits to the full. It is not the first incident of this kind on record. Even the lawyers Isa von Brede and Markus Gellert are unable to help their client in this case, with a heavy heart. Behind her back, Charlie supports the young woman by spreading her story on social media. In fact, the case immediately causes a stir, the rapist is declared "persona non grata" and has to leave the country within 48 hours. That is not enough for Charlie. She finds the idea that the man will get away with it outrageous. When she learns that he wants to hold a farewell party before he leaves, she hires herself as a hostess. At the same time, the lawyers represent a chemical worker who was fired and fell asleep during his shift, causing considerable damage. The young factory manager also accuses the ex-employee of frequently arriving late and of poisoning the atmosphere in the company with negative talk. In the law firm, the client reports that he was only so tired at work because he had to work countless hours of overtime and double shifts due to absences so that the company could remain profitable. Before they file a lawsuit with the labor court to have the termination overturned, Isa von Brede and Markus Gellert visit the company boss for a clarifying discussion. In the evening, Gellert confronts Barbara Geldermann. He is angry that the public prosecutor has not told him that she is still married - albeit only on paper - to Tobias Geldermann, who has just been transferred to a Hamburg police station.
