After 30 years of slumber, it is finally time for this grand house in Häckelsäng outside Gävle to have a new owners. Emma Norelius was inherited this well-preserved old house, which has been her family farm and dream home since her childhood. And Christopher historian Christopher O'Regan digs into the family farm's history and gives new life to Emma's relatives, who once lived here. While Erika Åberg adapts the house's functional kitchen to today's standards and teaches us about how we preserve old linoleum floors.

Kommendantbostad på Dalarö i Stockholms skärgård

On Dalarö (one of Sweden's most classic archipelago resort outside Stockholm), so are the grand "Kommendanthuset" believed to be from the 18th century. And historian Christopher O'Regan finds are finding out if that is through. As we also learn allot about Dalarö's time as a shipping center and about the commandant Falkman who once lived in the house. And the building antiquarian Erika Åberg are making a big search around Stockholm in her hunt for a hundred years old original wallpaper. So that she can reproduce the wallpapers that original was on the walls in one of rooms in the house.

The infamous farm Ljusbacken in Hälsingland has a terrible history as a care home for the poor, sick and old - but today it is instead the collective Ljusbacken's friends who live here. Missionshus i Svartå i Degerfors

In the old mill village of Svartå, a Free Church chapel remains, but instead of pastors and parishioners, today it is populated by a family with children. Christopher O'Regan finds out more about the mill workers who initiated the construction of a chapel, and the big explosion accident that may have ignited the spark. Erika Åberg tears out the masonite and plastic floor to bring out the original paneling in the hall instead, she is also experimenting with grain painting doors.

But there is still furniture, some clothes and not least a very strong soul from those who once held this home dear.
