Episode 1
Oberstaatsanwalt Bernd Reuther supervises the murder of a woman who gambled big to gain a fortune on her apartment block, the last piece for a huge Wiesbaden city center mall project directed by slick, discrete real estate tycoon Andreas Amlang and his even shadier Russian mega investor Boris Welednitzkow. Schubert first examines her tenant Tim Baumann, a young father who had to move out as the rent was increased excessively after 'energetic renovation'. Her dirty tricks were exposed in a local paper by a young journalist, who anonymously also runs a blog dealing with the real estate dealings. Reuther agrees to meet a old lawyer friend, Wolfgang Esbach, who notarized most deals, but he's murdered at home and his wife, whom adult son Moritz confides is a ruthless career bitch 'behind the throne', also his suspicious Russian contacts. The first murderer, a hired martial artist, was eliminated by a fearless pro hit-man, who escapes Schubert shooting. Reuther must thread carefully to tie everything together and outsmart top level connections, without getting shot.

Episode 2
Remote control-sabotaged breaks make Harald Fiedler crash fatally, driving the limousine of ruthless business consultant Karsten Wippermann, the presumed target as he made many enemies. Merry fresh widow Daniela Wippermann was already filing for a fat divorce while openly making love in the marital home with her studly suitor, ICT engineer Nils Kreuzkamp. Reuther and his team also find possible motives with a disgruntled client, in the garage where the car software was installed and with recently fired employee Maike Simmering, who remains in psych ward after a suicide attempt. Fiedler also was the boyfriend of Karsten's sister Masha Kruse, which leads to an old blackmail trail.

Episode 3
The male corpse which was handcuffed in the Rhine near the villa of pharma-enterpreneur and philanthropist Marc Maurée and socialite superstar wife Vera is identified as their fired former caretaker, reformed addict Paul Schwarz, whose brother, DJ Luis, reveals he was Vera's dumped lover. Marc and his firm were the pubic target if Burundi-rooted MD Leila Johne, w<ho seeks police protection after death threats and claims, without proof, Maurée finances its good works with crumbs from a lucrative scam in counterfeit pills from a dubious Nigerian factory. Luis Schwarz's mysterious income also intrigues Bernd Reuther's team.

Episode 4
When a Taunus golf hotel security agent comes to guest Oliver Merez's rescue, he's killed by professional hit-man Tobias Wegener, who gets shot in turn by .Kerstin Klar as he was holding Christian Schubert at gunpoint as they happened to hear an alert nearby. While they search who could have hired him, Bernd Reuther soon suspects a link with a current court case. Merez was in the hotel with his mistress, state attorney Monika Sahlmann, who prosecutes ex-con Lars Offenberg, professional criminal like his brother and their father, all in a web of bloody grudges reaching back to an earlier, lethal jeweler heist.

Episode 5
Building cleaner Lars Brinkmann is killed on the job by a traitorous chlorine gas trap. Whlde searching his home, commissioner Schubert is attacked by professional re-offender Reimund Bär. Lars Brinkmann was employed by Robert and Sonja Stein, but had an affair with her, who kept the firm's dire troubles secret from her husband. Lars prepared to start his own cleaning firm and steal key clients, including the corrupt city works manager Hajo Kemp, whom Lars blackmailed with proof of other crimes involving paroled staff.
Episode 6
Business woman Maria Weissenberg is kidnapped, her female driver Elli Kauber's corpse dumped by the road. The state agency LKA sends a specialist team under Klar's lover Nikos Weber, but delivery of the hefty ransom fails. Racing against time, the team must reconsider everything, focusing on staff and relatives, including fresh widower Christof Kauber and potential heirs Wiebke and Marius Weissenberg, the latter having been virtually discarded and saw his own development project crossed by their mother.

Episode 7
Gynecologist Dr. Lara Siegel, a fertility treatment specialist, was tortured to death. Suspects/ patients include her ex husband Mark Telschik and his new wife Stefanie, who aborted their IVF child after an illegal DNA test overseas. Dr. Lara Siegel 's notebook contains evidence against illegal treatments by her mentor and former practice partner, who performed many questionable operations. The patient couple Konstantin and Sonja Renner, who lost a child, inspire Reuther to solve the case.

Episode 8
Within a day after her release from jail for the ever-denied murder of her husband, Jasmin Waldschmidt is killed herself. Reuther's team soon finds she kept dealing drugs in prison, even using as a courier her teen son Luca, who is lovingly being raised by his aunt Carina Förster. Reuther takes serious the victim's claim Michael wasn't murdered, as Waldschmidt's corpse was never found, hence also the claim he's been spotted alive, and indeed identified as smart, rich gambler Michael Smith, who recently returned from Vegas to Wiesbaden, having checked his own property crimes are past statute of limitation, and hoping due to health troubles to make up with Luca, whose very existence was kept from him by the sisters. The team must ponder various motives and opportunities.
