Episode 1
After her only champion horse returns to the stud farm stable alone, with blood stain, owner Gerlach's corpse is found in the forest, skull-smashed after a tree branch knocked her off, but not fatally. The training and veterinary treatment of the prize stud, possibly for cheating purposes, remains a matter of dispute on the stud farm. The devoted stable master also acts as second father for the fresh widower Justus Gerlach's son Martin, who acts seemingly indifferent but actually rebellious, uncooperative with Reuter's team, and seems to turn an both father figures while Reuter digs into the family's darkest secrets.
Episode 2
A murdered private detective's last client, Wiesbaden entrepreneur Matthias Mühlenhoff, hired him to shadow his adulterous wife Judith, the company's main shareholder. She who was filmed in bed and blackmailed by her gigolo, who is the next murder victim, possibly staged to set her up. Reuther and his team dig into a web of deceit, forcing him last minute to change his charge due to a surprise suspect.
Episode 3
Shortly after René Baumgard was fatally shot in the vineyard he recently succeeded to as manager, his father Herbert Baumgard volunteers a confession, which Rether doubts even before learning the man is a terminal cancer patient, who wouldn't loose much covering for kin. Reuther's team circumvents an order to close the case to save on tax money, looking into René's bitterly bickering siblings, passed-over wine-qualified Stefanie and intemperate 'black sheep' Felix. Schubert gets suspended, Reuther gets intrigued by the role of in-laws and housekeeper Ana Santos.
Episode 4
The team suspects a link between t<o murder victims: a nocturnally run-over, scantily-dressed prostitute with a lucrative side-job in the forest, a beached-up male on the Rhine bank. Bernd Reuther gets accidentally handcuffed by a beat cop for failing to identify himself on site. Schubert goes undercover as 'discrete' caterer-waiter on board the yacht where the male victim worked his last evening as part of wining and dining potential logistics center-investors for a dodgy castle owner, and finds his 'Bunga-bunga' parties half orgies. The late prostitute was among the guests, as a video proves.
Episode 5
Ex-con jewel thief Franz Felber was murdered. Bernd Reuther first focuses on his never-condemned presumed accomplice, who is in Wiesbaden and probably after the hidden loot. But Reuther's team also investigates the apparently abused fresh widow, Hannah Felber, who wanted to start a new life with Leon Bartel, and she wasn't the only one he helped to a new life under a fake identity.
Episode 6
Isolated wheelchair-stuck 'manga' comic-artist Tim Steinke was shot fatally. He was estranged from his family, and two former artistic partners weren't just jealous of his hit 'Ciara', they also feel he stole their ideas. Bernd Reuther believes the manga plot itself contains another clue to a dark secret from Tim's and other's semi-private life, enabling Schubert just in time to prevent another murder.
Episode 7
One of three workaholic trainee candidates for a single job in an investment firm, in line for the newly created New York dream job, seemingly worked himself to dead. Autopsy shows the cocaine overdose in his energy-drink was murder, not suicide. The team naturally focuses on his competitors, self-made scholarship student Paul Harting and fearless Christina Borowski, who gets the job for disrespecting boss and rules, but Bernd Reuther turns his attention to the senior staff as well.
