In December 2011, Misook, fearing the end of her marriage and financial security, lures Linda into a trap and then bludgeons and strangles her. She is serving 55 years behind bars. Styllou Christofi emigrates from Cyprus to London to live with her son, Stavros, and his German-born wife, Hella, who are raising three children. The women are constantly at odds over their cultural differences, and Hella soon tells her husband she wants his mother-in-law out of the house. In July 1954, Styllou retaliates by bludgeoning and strangling Hella and then attempting to burn the corpse. She is hanged five months later. Styllou also murdered her own mother-in-law in Cyprus back in 1925, but was never prosecuted for it. Dawn Wagner's live-in daughter, Sarah Vercauteren, is a drug addict who is supposed to be in recovery, but is still using and stealing to support her habit, and Dawn, fearing for her grandson's welfare, decides to kick her out of the house. On New Year's Eve 2013, a mother-daughter argument over Sarah using Dawn's car to buy drugs ends in Sarah bludgeoning and strangling her mother, then being caught after she robs a bank to get more drug money. She is serving life without parole.

Nurse Patricia Wells Jennings marries addiction counselor William Jennings when she is 44 and he 77. But she is more in love with his money than with him, drugging him and locking him in motel rooms for days at a time so she can spend his money undetected. By September 1989, William's money has begun to run out and William has begun to suspect her, so she stomps him to death with her cowboy boots and then sexually assaults him. She gets a life sentence. In the Australian resort town of Ballina, New South Wales, Megan Haines is a retirement-home nurse with a history of drugging patients with insulin and stealing from them, for which she temporarily lost her license. In May 2014, after patients Marie Darragh and Isabella Spencer complain about Megan's abrasive bedside manner and put Megan in danger of losing her job again, Megan gives both women fatal overdoses of insulin. She is serving a minimum 27 year sentence. Patty Cannon is the leader of a gang in early 1800s Delaware who profit from capturing free African Americans and selling them into illegal slavery. But that is not the extent of her criminal activity, as she ruthlessly kills anyone who gets in her way including young children and her own tavern's paying customers for any reason. In 1829, she is jailed after human remains are discovered on her property and one of her own gang implicates her in three murders, but never goes to trial, committing suicide in prison by swallowing poison.

After Donna Roberts is nearly killed in a car wreck, her personality changes drastically and she begins seeking sex outside her relationship with ex-husband Robert Fingerhut. In December 2001, she enlists her new, younger boyfriend, small-time crook Nathaniel "Nate" Jackson, to shoot Robert to death so that the couple can collect on Robert's life insurance. Both Donna and Nate receive death sentences. In Jasper, Alabama, Shonda Johnson is already on her fifth marriage at age 28 and has failed to divorce two of her previous husbands, making her a serial bigamist. When her third husband, Randy McCullar, finds out, he has Shonda arrested and goes for custody of their two year-old son. In November 1997, while awaiting trial, Shonda has her fifth husband, Tim Richards, shoot Randy to death. Tim gets life without parole. Shonda gets the death penalty, but in 2014, it is commuted to life in prison without parole. In Ottawa, Ontario, friends and neighbors Gurpreet Ronald and Jagtar Gill's marriages are both falling apart, and Gurpreet is partly to blame, as she is having an affair with Jagtar's husband, Bhupinder. Gurpreet separates from her husband, but Bhupinder fears a divorce will drain his finances and cost him custody of his kids, leaving murder as the only option for the couple. On the Gills wedding anniversary in January 2014, Gurpreet bashes Jagtar 20 times with a barbell and then slashes her repeatedly. Both Gurpreet and Bhupinder are sentenced to 25 years.

Jacquelyn Gaimari and her husband Carl, a successful commodities trader, live the good life in 1970s suburban Chicago, but both are having affairs. By 1979, the marriage is over, and Jackie fears a divorce will leave her with nothing. On April 30, 1979, Carl is shot to death during a home invasion, and Jackie blames her daughter for leaving the door unlocked. 34 years later, Jackie's sister helps bring her to justice for planning the murder. Jackie is finally arrested and in 2016 is charged with first-degree murder and conspiracy to commit murder. Jackie gets a 30-year sentence; the triggermen who shot Carl are still at large. Carl is not Jackie's only victim, as her daughter, who blamed herself for her father's death, later committed suicide. After Martha Ann McClancy and her husband Bob, a Vietnam veteran and former police detective, move from Florida to Tennessee, Martha begins an affair with Bob's friend, fellow veteran Chuck Kaczymarczyk. In May 2006, Bob dies of an apparent suicidal overdose of his PTSD medication. Martha and Chuck are later jailed for bilking the federal government out of $800,000 in veterans' benefits, and Chuck confesses that he and Martha planned Bob's murder by poisoning him with a fatal dose of his medication. Chuck gets 25 years behind bars and Martha gets 50 years with the possibility of parole in 2028. In Albuquerque, New Mexico, Ellen Snyder and her husband, Mike, a successful auto mechanic, live happily until Mike is diagnosed with multiple sclerosis. In addition to the stress of caring for a sick husband, Ellen's online gambling addiction has put the family $470,000 in debt. In January 2002, after Mike announces he's leaving her, Ellen shoots him eight times and then has her son help bury the body in the front yard. After eight years, Ellen is finally brought to justice but accepts a plea in exchange for only 11 years, a sentence that infuriates Mike's family.

Troubled Kansas teen Sarah Gonzales McLinn moves in with her boss, Hal Sasko, who hopes he can get her on the right path, but instead ends up drinking and doing drugs with her. In addition, Sarah has a morbid fascination with death, and, after "practicing" on a rabbit, develops the desire to kill a human being. When Hal becomes suicidal over financial woes, Sarah chooses him as her first victim, and in January 2014 drugs him and then drives a knife through his neck. Her sentence is 50 years to life. In 1860s Pittsburgh, socialite Martha Grinder is a well liked hostess, but also has a fascination with death, which helps get her a job as an undertaker after her maid mysteriously dies. Over the next several years, two brothers-in-law, a neighbor, and even her own daughter also die under Martha's care. An investigation reveals that Martha has poisoned her victims with arsenic and also stolen their possessions after their deaths, and she is hanged in 1866. Samantha Pachynski is a gifted student with a bright future until she begins a romance with career criminal Patrick Selepak, who draws her into his life of crime. In February 2006, Samantha becomes his willing accomplice in a series of armed robberies across Michigan and then in three murders a young couple whose identities the killers plan to steal, and a friend who made the mistake of letting them hide out at his house. Both are serving life without parole.

Brent finds a new girlfriend, Rachel Drafta, but Theresa refuses to move on and begins stalking the couple. In June 2015, Theresa abducts Rachel and shoots her to death. She is serving life without parole. Former Hollywood showgirl Clara Phillips gave up her career to marry her husband, Armour, but he is often away on business, making Clara jealous and insecure. She soon accuses him of sleeping with an attractive young widow named Alberta Meadows, despite lack of evidence of any affair. In 1922, she entraps Alberta and then bludgeons her with a hammer and crushes her chest with a large rock. Dubbed "The Tiger Woman" by the press due to the brutality of her crime, she serves 12 years and is released at age 36. After some time living in the United States, Yvonne Caylor moves back to England and moves in with her half sister, Nikki Collingbourne, but Yvonne is jealous of Nikki and often lashes out violently at her, and Nikki soon throws her out. Yvonne retaliates by stealing Nikki's prized doll collection and, after attempting to get Nikki's mother to lie on her behalf, finds herself facing charges for both burglaries and perverting the course of justice. In May 2016, Yvonne, disguised as a man, breaks into Nikki's home and stabs, bludgeons, and strangles her half-sister to death. She gets 20 years to life.

On January 5, 2014, she hires gang teen Anthony Delagarza to beat Jose to death that evening. Anthony gets twenty to forty years, while Maryann gets life without parole. In early 20th century Delaware, May Carey is left destitute after her husband's death while raising her three sons. Robert, her brother and wealthy auto mechanic, is always there for May, but instead of being grateful, she envies him, and it only grows bigger when her mother dies and leaves her money and house to Robert. May forces her two oldest sons James and Howard in November 1927 to kill Robert and make the scene look like a robbery gone wrong. Seven years later, the killer family is exposed after the third son tells investigators about the murder. James gets life, while Howard and May are sentenced to death and are both hanged in 1935. In Muswellbrook, Australia, Michael and Michelle Willard at first have a happy marriage, but Michael's salary is decreased and Michelle has a spending habit that puts them in debt. Michelle wants Michael's $250,000 life insurance to pay off the debts, and on February 21, 2003, Michelle hires neighbor Danielle Wilkinson and her teen lover to shoot Michael in his sleep. Danielle and her lover plead guilty and are given 16 to life sentences while Michelle gets 26 to life.

In 1770s Massachusetts, Bathsheba Spooner is stuck in an unhappy marriage to husband Joshua, an abusive alcoholic, and due to the laws and social mores of the day, divorce is not an option. When she has an affair with a handsome young soldier, Ezra Ross, and becomes pregnant, Bathsheba, believing murder is the only way out, enlists Ezra and two British soldiers to beat Joshua to death. All four conspirators are hanged in July 1778 after Bathsheba's request for a stay of execution due to her pregnancy is denied. British party girl Maria Boyne has multiple affairs while her devoted husband, Graham, stays home and cares for their children. Despite Maria's ill treatment of him, Graham still loves her and, even after she abandons the family for her new younger boyfriend, who gets her pregnant hopes they can reconcile. In April 2008, Maria, wanting to be rid of Graham for good, uses his devotion against him, luring him into a trap and stabbing him 31 times. She is serving a 36 year sentence.

Despite hard work and academic accolades, Jennifer Pan, the daughter of Asian immigrants living in Toronto, can't please her demanding parents. In high school, she begins leading a double life, forging better grades on her report cards, fabricating an acceptance to a prestigious university and an internship at a local hospital, and dating marijuana dealer Daniel Wong, and when her parents find out, they tighten the reins on her. In 2010, Jennifer enlists Daniel and two other thugs to shoot her parents to death and disguise it as a home invasion so she can collect on her inheritance. All four parties are serving 25 years to life. In 1890s Brooklyn, Martha Place graduates from housekeeper to woman of the house when she marries widower William Place and becomes stepmother to his teenage daughter, Ida. However, relations between Martha and Ida sour as Ida matures into a beautiful, but smart-mouthed, young woman, and Martha becomes jealous of Ida's beauty and relationship with William. The final straw comes in February 1898 when Martha learns that Ida, and not she, is to inherit the family home, and Martha disfigures Ida with acid and then suffocates her to death with a pillow, then attempts to kill William with an ax. In 1899, she becomes the first woman in the United States to face the electric chair. An automobile accident left Australian Lindsay Jellett with permanent brain damage, and his twin sister, Judith Cengiz, became his custodian. However, Judith's gambling addiction is draining Lindsay's $130,000 trust fund, and concerned authorities freeze the account. In May 1994, Judith drags her brother and then runs him over with her car twice. As authorities are unable to confirm Lindsay's cause of death, Judith is convinced only of attempted murder and serves six years in prison, released in 2002.

Her physician, Dr. Lester Coriel, takes pity on her and hires her, but Bridget, who is smitten with Dr. Coriel, does not get along with his wife, Mary, which combined with poor job performance leads to her being fired again. In February 1867, Bridget, wanting to be the next Mrs. Coriel, stabs Mary 23 times and bites her, then sets a fire to try to destroy the evidence. Her crime sends her to the gallows, but some believe to this day the murder was the result of an epileptic fit. Wanting sexual freedom and a chance to live out her greatest erotic fantasies, devout Christian Lisa Shuler leaves her husband and begins a relationship with Charles Pierce, who shares her passion for kinky sex. The couple even take selfies of their sexual exploits, but Lisa soon feels remorse and fears the damage to her reputation that would ensue if Charles shared the photos with others. In May 2013, she lures Charles over with the promise of more kinky sex and then shoots him to death. She is serving a 45 year sentence.

When Roscoe begins an affair with psychiatrist Irina Pascariu, Shannon still wants to make the marriage work, but Roscoe refuses to break up with Irina. In January 2012, Shannon confronts Irina at her home and shoots her four times. She gets 20 years for second-degree murder and 20 more for armed criminal action. Patricia Tito enjoys using sex to get what she wants from men, and thinks she's hit the jackpot when she moves in with well to do Chris Shufflin until Chris has a stroke and the money train grinds to a halt, and she leaves him. When she's unable to find another sugar daddy, Patricia decides to reconcile with Chris, only to learn that he has a new girlfriend, Judie Winn, who is 21 years Patricia's senior. Patricia stalks and threatens Judie and in August 2003 shoots her to death. Judie's dying words implicate Patricia, who gets a 40 year sentence. Manisha Patel emigrated from India to Sydney, Australia, in search of a better life, and finds a kindred soul and a new boyfriend in fellow emigrant Niraj Dave. However, Niraj already has an arranged engagement to another woman, Purvi Joshi, and intends to marry her, ordering Manisha out of their shared apartment so Purvi can move in. Refusing to give Niraj up, Manisha strangles and stabs Purvi to death in July 2013, also stabbing herself to try to divert suspicion. Sentenced to 18 to 24 years, Manisha's conviction is overturned in May 2017 and she currently awaits retrial.
