The Strange Quest of Rudolph Hess," featured in the "Dead Men's Secrets" series, explores the 1941 flight of Rudolf Hess, Hitler's deputy, to Scotland. It investigates the theory that Hess's mission was not for peace, as he claimed, but rather part of a larger, secret plan. It also delves into the possibility that the man who spent the rest of his life in Spandau prison was not the real Hess. Here's a more detailed look at the focus: Hess's Flight: In May 1941, Hess flew a Messerschmitt Bf 110 solo from Germany to Scotland, claiming he was on a peace mission to negotiate with the Duke of Hamilton. Challenging the Narrative: The show questions the official explanation of Hess's mission, suggesting it was more complex and possibly involved hidden agendas. Spandau Mystery: The show also explores the theory that the individual imprisoned in Spandau, who died in 1987 at the age of 93, might not have been the real Rudolf Hess. This theory proposes that the individual may have been an impostor. Alternative Theories: The show touches on various alternative theories surrounding Hess's flight and imprisonment, including the possibility of a double agent, a secret agreement with the British, or even a mental breakdown. In essence, it aims to unravel the enigma surrounding Rudolf Hess's actions, challenging the widely accepted narrative and presenting alternative perspectives on his motivations and the events that followed.

At the outbreak of World War II, the ocean liner Normandie was brought into New York City harbor where it was to be converted into a carrier for US troops to the battlefields of Europe. After a mysterious fire broke out, the huge vessel capsized leaving American authorities suspecting the act to be the work of Nazi spies. But some feel that Lucky Luciano, American mafia kingpin, may have a hand in it. As events unfolded, Luciano and the US Government entered into a deal which helped the war effort, but left the Mafia as a powerhouse in the States thereafter, despite Luciano's eventual deportation to Italy.
