Danny Fenton is a 14 year old boy who is pretty average at first, until an accident caused him to receive ghost powers. He's having some troubles now, but soon he'll have to battle his first major ghost enemy. When his friend Sam changes the school lunch menu, it's caused a ghost named the lunch lady to escape from the ghost world. She's called the lunch lady and has control over all meats (not to mention she has mood swings). Danny must try to defeat her, but it's not going to be easy because he doesn't know how to use his powers that well and the mess would get his human side in trouble.

Danny is in love with the school's most beautiful girl, Paulina, he asks her to go to the big dance with her by giving her an amulet he found, but his ghost powers keep doing weird things, causing Mr. Lancer to have a parent teacher conferences with his dad, so Danny has to overshadow him in order to make it go okay. Howerver, another bad thing has been going on, the amulet that Danny Gave Paulina came from the ghost world, and causes anyone (including humans), who becomes angry, to turn into a fierce ghost dragon, when Danny finds out about this, he finds himself in a major pickle.

Desiree grants Tucker ghost powers like Danny, but it comes at a price for Tucker when his jealousy towards Danny starts to manifest and he starts to play pranks on everyone at school. Danny soon learns from the seller that Desiree was a harem woman who fell in love with the Sultan and she was offered everything she wanted, but she got banished by the Sultan's jealous wife. Since then, Desiree has been granting everyone's wishes after dying from a broken heart. Danny tries to lure Desiree, but with no success. A man tries to make a wish at the fountain and Desiree appears. Danny is able to stop the wish granting ghost by putting her inside the Fenton Thermos. The next day, Danny goes to the hall of records and he sees Tucker changing his grades. Danny tries to warn Tucker about his powers but he transforms into a monster. During a long fight, Danny separates Tucker and his monster half. Tucker is reverted back to normal, he apologizes to Danny for letting his jealousy get to him and Danny apologizes to Tucker for his showboating, the two become friends again. However, Danny and Tucker end up getting sick and Sam has to nurse her two friends back to health.

Now Danny is even more afraid because the Jack left his apology present at the house and now Danny's knocked it into the ghost zone, now Danny has to go back in and find it, but not for long, he's caught by Walkker again and is sent to the ghost zone prison for 1,000 years! Now he's more afraid than ever, because 5 ghost he fought in the past, Lunch Lady, Skulker, Technus, Desiree, and yes, the Box Ghost, are now taking his revenge! Now to get out, Danny will have to trust his enemies.

Danny and his friends acquire the final key, when they try to unlock the final door; they end up being defeated by Mr. Lancer who is also playing the game.
