Dangerfield is called to give evidence as a prosecution witness at a murder trial, but during cross examination from the defendant's defence barrister, his impartiality is severely tested. Also, Dagley is accused in court of being corrupt by the defence barrister.

Al Dangerfield goes in search of peace, but discovers the countryside can be a brutal place when she runs into woodlander and loner John Rust. He's trying to protect local wildlife from a gang of thugs who are setting animal traps. When arson is committed nearby Paul becomes concerned for Al's safety.

Dangerfield investigates when a romantic evening by the water ends in a suicide pact, but when the police recover the body of a young woman, they discover her lover's body has disappeared. The post mortem reveals the woman died before drowning.

Dangerfield and his colleagues at the practice become concerned when patients report home visits by a GP using their surgery's name as a calling card. With patients' lives seemingly put at risk, Dangerfield asks the police to investigate. When a body is discovered in a car the fake GP Dr Davidson is suspected.
Episode 9
William Ashurst, an old friend of Dangerfield's father, returns to the area of his childhood. A teenage boy is reluctantly involved with helping a group of other teen boys who are harassing William for being different and terrorizing his beloved pooch. William is initially regarded with suspicion by the parents of the boys from Foxwood estate, they eventually learn not to judge him for being different.
Episode 10
A prisoner confides in Dangerfield following a prison riot. When the same prisoner later dies in police custody, Dangerfield becomes emotionally involved and is determined to follow through with the investigation.
