When Danger, the Roberts' pet river otter, disappears, the family desperately searches the island for the animal. In a series of flashback sequences, each of the family remembers how the otter was shot by salmon poachers and Jonah was nearly killed when his small boat was swamped by the crooks fleeing the maritime police.
Episode 2
Nicole witnesses wild horses being rustled illegally.
Episode 3
Amos Perry is a lonely sailor who wants to sail around the world with his only companion, an old mutt with whom he shares his boat. The dog, however, is rabid, and runs off as soon as he docks in Danger Bay. After a run in with the dog, Nicole is bitten while trying to collect marine samples near the docks. Soon thereafter, the harbor patrol orders Amos to shove off since he doesn't have a docking permit. He tries to find the dog first, though, and is also bitten. Grant and George then try to get the antidote sent to Vancouver by plane for both Nicole and Amos Perry. After some sleepless work burning the midnight oil, George secures the antidote, which is delivered in time. Dr. Chen presents Amos with a new dog, whom he names Ralphie. Amos sails off to finish his around the world trek, waving to the Danger Bay crowd on Grant's porch as the credits roll.
Episode 4
While Grant is fixing dinner for Nicole and Jonah, Joyce comes by with a salmon that she bought from a couple of "hucksters." Grant determines that the sellers were poachers and sets off to investigate. On the way to the hatchery Grant, Nicole and Jonah visit their old friends, brothers Bert and Cully. The police discover illegal salmon in the brothers' storage shed which Grant suspects were planted. With Bert and Cully facing charges of poaching and eviction from their camp, Jonah and Nicole discover evidence that they hope can clear the brothers and lead the police to the real poachers.

Jonah gets so obsessed with winning at Tennis Championship, that he loses sight of why he enjoys playing the game.
Episode 6
A girl named Katie bonds with an orca whale from the aquarium.
Episode 7
Grant helps a friend investigate suspicions of falcon smuggling.
Episode 8
Smugglers are after computer chips they hidden in a storage box at the aquarium.
Episode 9
Grant trades places with a country veterinarian. Each believing the other's job is a breeze.
Episode 10
While diving at a new aquarium research facility, Jonah and Nicole discover barrels dumped into the water. One of them is leaking and an unknown substance gets into Jonah's eyes, causing painful burns. Jonah is rushed to hospital and while Dr. Kelsay works to save his eyesight, Grant sets out to apprehend whoever has been dumping toxic waste into the sea.
Episode 11
George resumes a relationship with Grant's sister Grace. Meanwhile, the aquarium is facing a crisis.
Episode 12
An old colleague from Grant's college years comes to the aquarium with proposal to find a sunken treasure from the 1800s but Grant is too skeptical of finding such a treasure until a defective boiler dictates his decision.
Episode 13
The aquarium is anxiously awaiting the birth of a beluga whale.
Episode 14
Reports of bear attacks leads Grant to discovering the animal was poisoned with mercury.
Episode 15
George sends Grant to Abbot Bay to investigate sightings of a "monster" that the locals have affectionately called Abby. Meanwhile TV host Graham Sanderson schemes to undermine Grants efforts and claim all the credit for the monster's "discovery."
Episode 16
Grant investigates a drop in salmon spawning levels in the timber lands. He is on the trail of illegal logging responsible for killing the eggs.
Episode 17
Jonah's friend Dennis is about to perform a potlatch dance in honour of Chief David. Dennis receives a gift from his uncle Charlie which is a replica of a thunder bird mask on display at the aquarium. Dennis and Jonah decide that the appropriate gift for chief David would be the original mask that once belonged to his people. The boys switch masks at the aquarium, but when they present Chief David with the original mask, they are surprised at his reaction.
