Glue

It's three weeks into third year and it is announced that there are three available temporary fill-in roles for the corps de ballet. Tara finds out that Abigail has never had a birthday party and decides to throw her a surprise party for her eighteenth. Tara organises for some first years to perform a ballet/jazz number at the party but Ben is annoyed as it interferes with corps de ballet audition rehearsals. Abigail and ollie are new paus de deaux partners and are getting to know each other and question whether because sammy went out with them both, does it mean they are similar. Kat asks Miss Raine whether she can fast track 2nd year in order to graduate and finish 3rd year with her friends.

New Rules

The Company regulars deem the filling-in third-years unworthy to share their dressing room, so even ever-optimistic Ben ends up embarrassed having to hang his 'BenStar' on a broom closet only to find it shamelessly opened. Zach worries as Christian misses the registration deadline, dividing his time between designing boards in father Raf's surf shop and a vandalizing beach bums gang but sees the light after coaching some urchins at break-dance. Sir Jeoffrey keeps favoring Kat, who volunteers as editor for demoralized Abi's video to apply at various companies, to no avail. Nemesis Saskia's advice to stick to boring instructions proves right, Tara ignored it at her peril.

Second Chances

Christian turns up weeks in the first semester, so mentor Zac has a hard to time getting the board to consider admitting him despite his scholarship funds having already been reallocated, but Ben comes trough with a fund-raising. Guest teacher Marcus Kane, Lucy Raine's student days ex (which Grace tries to exploit to get time off for a pop star concert), instructs the kids to reinterpret a classical piece after studying someone else. Kat, already struggling with her won bleak prospects, happens to stumble upon medical student Nick, who accidentally fatally ran over Sammy, but finds him all but hateful. Christian and Abi try to cheer each-other up, land in Sammy's favorite drag queer club and perform until surprised by an even more unlikely couple.

Short Cut Clause

Ben is delightfully surprised when Saskia offers him private tutoring, a shot at a major part, and accepts, despite Tara's wining about her experience, after the first pas de deux trial is a triumphal proof that they match perfectly. Christian and Tara find out about Kat's eating disorder. Oli is not amused when his embarrassing rap song 'in progress', which Christian found sneakily searching is PC, is posted on Internat by Abi, and dares her to attend a hip-hop dance class with him, which she can't handle, so he calls her a serial quitter.

Negative Patterns

Ben can't believe his luck when Saskia gets him to fill in dancing a major part with her, catching company manager sir Jeffrey's eye. So Ben can't refuse when she wants him to push out her dumped lover Hugo, but she stuffs up. Tara, who profits from Grace's vengeance when denied a near-promised part, takes Saskia's place and both are discredited in Sir's eyes. Zach allows Christian to count helping in Ollie's hip-hop video as catching-up hours. Ollie is arrogantly ingrate, but ends up realizing it only works with Christian's suggested choreography fixes.

Fake It Until You Make It

Ben is even more excited then his mates when Oli brings as star in his video popular cool TV actor Rhys O'Leary. Zach proudly presents as guest teacher his former pupil Wes, now leading Texas's leading Austi ballet, but the greatest surprise is still to come: Abi never told them Wes was her lover in Barcelona, and he still wants her back. Even cheerful Ben's innate optimism is shocked when Grace lure unsuspecting Christian along to the bowling alley, just to sabotage Ben's birthday fun date by humiliating his actual invited partner Tara. Kat's illusions of catching up are squashed.

Graceland

The kids greatly enjoy and bond during the Academy's annual countryside tour, performing Romeo and Giulette on petty stages. Yet even ever-tolerant Zac and Wes, who concludes the real Abi is a bitch not worth winning back, must warn that progressive slack is intolerable, warning the leads are no longer fixed after repeated sub-standard performances, even by Ben as Romeo. Conform tradition, arrival in one town, where their reservation is almost 'lost', means an elaborate streaking dare, in which Christian beats Ben and Grace gets caught. Back home, overqualified assistant director Jamie loses his patience with spoiled-rotten, incompetent Kat in Olli's video.

Episode 8

Travelling Light

Kat finishes filming her movie and accepts a date with crew member Jamie. After spending a chaste night with Christian and realising she still has feelings for him, Tara breaks up with Ben who has trouble accepting the relationship is over. An injury means Ollie has to pull out of the festival so he accompanies Rhys to the wrap party; Rhys is disappointed that he seems more interested in networking but arranges for him to sing in front of the crew. Kat is worried about ruining her friendship with Jamie but still kisses him on the dance floor. Abigail becomes paranoid when Wes is rejected for a job at the Company; he offers to get a job in Sydney but she suggests they pursue a long distance relationship. Christian volunteers to take over as Mercutio so Ben can play Romeo at the festival, and their love triangle seems to come to a head during the performance.

Episode 9

Don't Let Me Down Gently

Christian is not amused that Tara expects him to take her back after a minor fallout with Ben, whose naive confidence finally wears out, alas turning on both. Zac decides to cast Christian, not Ben, as Romeo at the prestigious gala performance, but after Rhys reports Olli's toe injury, recasting pairs Ben with Tara as Christian generously offers to dance Oli's smaller part. Sir Jeffrey decides not to to hire Wes, but Abi still has a shot at major casting. The TV recording finishes, so Oli and star actor Rhys O'Leary can attend the final party, where Jamie invites Kat, but neither couple works there.

N'Fektd

Oli cockily enters and coaches an Academy team in a hip-hop street dance competition. Christian doesn't underestimate urchin teams, coaches street kid Jayden's and helps it to the final with a brilliant battle. Ben 'plots' to make Tara jealous. Dr. David Lieberman gathered funds for a Sammy memorial and wants his academy mates' advice, especially Christian's, but he scolds his attitude when the knave was alive. Kat insists to audition for a small part, given her dismal recent record, while Jamie offers her a fairly major film part.

Start of an Era

Christian tells Tara he's ready to commit but she is reluctant and confused after his recent behaviour towards her and wonders if their previous failed relationships are a sign it will never work out. Sir Jeffrey unexpectedly resigns as musical director, leaving Rebecca in charge. Tara's back injury becomes a problem and she is told to take time off from rehearsals; with her audition coming up in a few weeks, she goes to see Saskia, who Rebecca has dismissed from the company, for advice. Saskia convinces her to forget the complex solo Miss Raine assigned her and try the simple but artistic Persephone solo. Kat lands the lead role in Coppélia. Ben and Grace need Kat's help in executing muck-up day and she organises a seaweed fight between the third and second years. Ollie meets Jessica Mauboy, who tells him she is a fan of his music. He and Abigail audition to be her warm-up act on tour, and must decide between the auditions and accepting her offer.

The Perfect Storm

It's truth time for the third year students: after a last class, they perform in auditions for the Sydney company likely to make or break their careers. Frantic preparations only add to the stress, jealous schemer Grace again resorts to costume-abusive foul play. Last minute, Ben and Tara each switch ballet. Olie believes to be cursed, yet pulls trough after Rhys rescue shim locked-in. Only Christian didn't invite his father, but they all attend, and Christian introduces the class with a sober tribute. Ben shines as a nature star in a modern part. Fate strikes Tara harder then Grace's sabotage could.

Not for Nothing

The third years are stunned by Tara's fall on stage and possibly permanently worsened back injury, but auditions for company contracts can't wait. Despite another perfect performance, Ben is told his type is already overrepresented, so he decides to go for Marcus's Austin company. Christian is offered a contract, but stubbornly prefers to run with Zach the Sammy memorial dance center for street kids. The others also do some soul-searching before heading off to the real world.
