Episode 1

When a man is found dead, they learn from his wife that his son was kidnapped and he was delivering the ransom; jewels. Horatio learns that the woman is not the boy's birth mother and that she's a grifter. She admits that it's true and that her husband was her mark but she claims that she fell in love with him and his son. When the jewels are found, they discover that they're not the genuine article but copies. So Horation and Speedle go to the place where they are cleaned and when they get there, someone pulls a gun and shoots Speedle killing him. Stetler is trying to find out what happened cause this isn't the first time Speedle choked when he was in a similar situation. But Horatio is too busy trying to find the boy.

Dennis de Labeque is a highly successful party planner, who wants to celebrate the launching of a new business venture. He organizes his own party at his seaside mansion. Speed boats approach the mansion during the party, and there are shots fired from one of them in drive-by-shooting style. The only victim of the attack is the young mother Jennifer Valdez. Her son Stevie briefly noticed his mother's killer, though he can not provide a detailed description. Dennis believes that the shooter was his former business associate Byron Middlebrook, who has become his worst enemy. The CSI team finds evidence against Byron, and a trial is quickly arranged. Byron has had legal training, and acts as his own defense attorney. He uses his position to intimidate and manipulate the forensic team working in this case. But there are indications that Byron has a plan to eliminate every witness in this legal case, including Stevie. The team has to find a way to prevent additional murders, while investigating Byron's other crimes.

Katrina Hannigan steps out of an elevator while carrying shopping bags full of clothes. She seems distressed, and several people notice that she is crying. She approaches a bus stop, but she somehow falls in front of the approaching bus. She is killed by the bus. Alexx notices bruises on Katrina's back which indicate that someone pushed her in front of the bus. There are older bruises on the body which may indicate that Katrina was a victim of domestic abuse. The CSI team questions Katrina's yuppie boyfriend Jay Seaver, who claims that Katrina was simply clumsy. Jay's friend and co-worker Patrick Wakefield is soon found murdered as well. The two men were competing for promotion. Jay blames his long-term stalker Claudia Sanders for the murders, and claims to feat for his own life. But the team increasingly notices that Jay is the one who benefits from the deaths, and they start investigating his own past. Meanwhile, Kenwall "Duke" Duquesne (Calleigh's father) claims to have killed a stranger with his car while drunk driving. His memory of the event is hazy. Calleigh covertly investigates the case, and locates the body of the supposed victim. But the cause of death was a blow to the head, not a hit and run. Duke seems to have accidentally drove his car through the scene of a previous crime. Now Calleigh has to find out what actually happened and who is the killer.

A group of teenagers gather at a golf course at a specified time. After the flash mob disperses, a body is found near the site. The CSIs follow the mob to a very prestigious prep school. They manage to trace the origin of the text messages telling the receivers to meet at the golf course to the son of one of Florida's most famous defense attorneys. At the same time, Horatio and Yelina are working to find the killer of a woman found in a dumpster.

A young girl is stabbed to death in a trendy night club. Jenny was an undercover investigative aide working for the Alcoholic Beverage Control. Her target was the club owner. As Horatio is questioning him, a loud noise draws him outside where a car speeds up and crashes into the door. The body at the back of the car leads the detectives to a spa where they suspect that there is something illegal going on.

The jury in the trial of a celebrity who's being charged with killing his wife, is brought to the man's home. When one of the jurors has a seizure, everyone is distracted and afterward, they find the defendant killed, with a sheet of paper with "guilty" written on it. While investigating the man's murder, Calleigh suspects that the man didn't kill his wife so she sets out to find out who did. Horatio's nephew, Ray, gets in trouble when he and some other boys who were playing paint ball accidentally kill someone. And the boys say that it was Ray who was responsible.

Indeed, the club's dates record shows Richard left after talking to Rebecca Briggs, who claims he was systematically using their information to commit robberies, but that proves to be the club manager's scam. However at least someone else in the club had a murder motive...

Five corpses are found tied to a stolen yacht's anchor, the crew. Three passengers are found in raft, two survivors claiming the third was killed by a shark, but the bite marks are human. The owner's excuse for not reporting the theft is soon seen through. The precious cargo comprised illegal rocket launchers, one of which was used for blowing up a Cuban former boat refugee's shop.

A man is seen falling from an apartment building, yet the corpse found there is not his but Michael Johnson, a resident, who was deeply wounded by an unidentified round object. First subject is junkie Doug Ramsey, who is arrested by Horatio for probably abseiling to break in and steal the $100,000 heirloom ring of the condo owner, Edward Mathis, who is however found taking it back after its sale, insurance fraud. The wounding object is found, a CD recording kinky sex scenes of missing Donna Scott and reputedly strict criminal judge Isaac Greenhill, whose former court clerk is Mathis, who apparently blackmails him. Ramsay claims police abuse, IAB Sergeant Rick Stetler investigates Horatio, but Ramsay's X-rays... Speculating on a link with the judge's major cases, the team finds Donna's corpse in a strangler's peat swamp dumping ground, with vomit which allows a DNA trace to Mathis, but Horatio now considers him a mere pawn.

Wealthy family entrepreneur Morgan Coleman says he was wounded when a carjacker intruded on him and his wife Kaye after an anniversary dinner, but after her fatally shot corpse is found on the beach, evidence soon suggests his story is largely fake, yet he has no gun powder traces. DNA identifies a carjacker, Victor Tinoco with a record as such, who is found shot dead in his home, while Morgan was being interrogated. Company heading on a list there leads to identify the office printer of brother Freddy Coleman, who has a smaller share then Morgan and Sal Coleman, and had sort of an affair with Kaye, who played him for money while selling her eggs for research, the shutter firm was being sued for a fatal accident, they actually used inferior metal. Meanwhile Dr. Alexx Woods insists on a full internal investigation for a stiff's flask which one of her staff took a sip from...

She says the shooting was done by the seductive John 'Jojo' Johnson she met only recently. Insko's police gun is found on petty thief Jake Mann, who is identified by Missy as Jojo, but is wasn't even drawn till after the murder. In fact Missy and the real John 'Jojo' Johnson, not Jake, regularly stayed since two months in a hotel room, where things point to mini-mart robberies she now confesses. When Patrick is found tape-tied but unhurt after another robbery where the clerk was badly shot, Horatio suspects him too, but the gruesome truth is even more twisted and its discovery followed by a second murder...

The owner of the recovered purse Karla Jane Gardner waves a Trade Board affidavit she's the victim of identity theft to explain the fraud flag on her drivers license, but next another woman shows papers it's the other way around, as medical evidence confirms; then Karla's ex Philip, who was awarded alimony, is found stabbed to death, with hair from Karla on the site...
