Las Vegas is flooded with college girl disappearances and bloody murders, as soon turns out using the MO of Seattle serial killer Jared Briscoe, arrested by Russels and Finlay when cops there, whose last appeal on death row recently was refused. It seems a copycat, with macabre extensions to his method, consisting in pre-staging CSI forensic research, using victim parts. Daniel Shaw, also ex-Seattle PD, now PI, offers to team up as his present partner Emily Barston is missing while they looked for a missing Vegas student girl, but is turned out she was killed herself while working on a trail pointing at Briscoe's twin, adopted by better parents and now an untouchable businessman. Russel stars doubting if Jared was the mastermind.

legal marijuana seller Lloyd Bryant's wife and daughter are kidnapped, the only eyewitness is murdered. While DB and Julie worry mainly about the presume serial killer brothers, Nick and Greg take charge. They find secrets and potential motives, drug-related or other, for at least one crime with every family member as well as suppliers and clientèle.

Greg and Sara arrive at a bloody crime scene and Sara sees that the victim is bleeding from her eyes. She believes it is a viral epidemic and calls the CDC. The CDC Emergency Team arrives and isolate the area and use a ultraviolet light to "clean" the area. The CSIs are to be quarantined for two weeks in a specialized hospital. Soon Dr. Heather Lanning from the RyneLab Biomedical visits Ecklie and Russell and explains that she was assigned to know what virus they are dealing with. The victim is considered the "Patient Zero" and the virus is identified as Ibare. When they identify the victim as Jack Weaver, they see that he worked in RyneLab Biomedical with Dr. Heather Lanning and they try to find why she omitted that she knew him. Soon they dig his past and discover dark secrets in Bolivia.

Popular high school chemistry teacher Chet Messner dies apparently from an inflammatory experiment, in fact poisoned by a paper he had to grade. Chet Messner, janitor Ed Lusk, another teacher and the principal were all members of a Wicca coven, were trouble was brewing, including spells. Model nerd Mason Brewer recently sent him an 'or else' mail after a mediocre grading. He also produced a drug to deal among athletes, including quarterback Rob 'Turk' Turkla, he drowns shortly after due to a knock on the head.

Greg painstakingly identifies a nearly-acid-consumed corpse as a luxury hotel security agent, whose access badge was stolen by someone who had been hiding in his car. It's used by Jeff Lasky, the apparently mad, yet well-prepared shooter who makes suspiciously few victims with his machine-gun at a forensic conference attended by the CSI girls and prefers being fatally shot rather then surrender to the SWAT team. Finlay's first significant date in years, software salesman Mark Perlow, gets wounded and must hide with her in the elevator, but D.B. soon realizes he can't be shot by Lasky and starts looking for the second shooter, who has an independent, yet similar motive.

LVPD receives a call from a man reporting a murder and a woman screaming in the back, and Greg finds the location. Nick and Sara find a processed scene and a tape recorder with the screaming of the woman, but no body. Sara finds a necklace indicating that the victim is a college girl, and the message on blood "People Lie, Follow the Evidence." She also identifies in the audio record that there is a second person in the crime scene. Meanwhile, in Seattle, Finn and Daniel Shaw look for the birth certificate of Jared Briscoe. They end in a convent, they learn the origins of Jared and Paul, and where Paul is buried since he died when he was a kid in a fire. The grave is exhumed and there is a doll inside the coffin, instead of Paul's body. In Las Vegas, Russell confronts Paul Winthrop and brings FBI Agent Avery Ryan to help him in the investigation.

A hot woman spends the night partying and using drugs in a club. On the next morning, she is found naked and dead in the swimming pool in the backyard of a house. Her clothing is very expensive, and she wears a diamond ring that the CSIs use to identify the owner. The diamond is registered for insurance purpose to Martin Fox from Uta and the victim is his beloved wife, Daycia. Martin pays US$ 8,000 a week for the Desert Peace Rehab Facility to rehabilitate his wife. Nick and Finn head to the clinic, which is in a mansion, and talks to the owner, Adam King. There are three other patients in the rehab, Zach, Len and Karen, all committed to getting sober. Only Daycia was not committed since her husband interned her. Finn and Nick process her room and find that she was murdered in her room. But who killed Daycia Fox?

A dumped female corpse is found in an alley, wearing a faceless, custom-made leather doll suit. D.B.'s team must investigate the fetish scene where people party wearing such anonymous costume. They find the victim was a relative newcomer, but so popular as to upset the social rapports traumatically. Furthermore, loved-ones hide further frustrations.

After his syringe-phobic LV pre-trial jail cell-mate goes berserk during a mandatory flu injection, inmate Bruce Grady is found fatally stint-stabbed in the laundry. He was a regular police informer on prisoners, but recently also an FBI informer on prison staff. Bright detective Carl Brenner, LVPD's youngest ever, is eager to prove himself.

A man left buried alive managed to crawl out at night, only to be fatally ran over by a birdbrain driver, is identified as ex-con mobster and master pool hustler Jimmy Turelli. The pool hall he left managed during his prison term by Natalie 'The Hornet' Barrow, who effectively turned it into an illegal bordello, was cleaned out by pool champion Calvin Tate, who is later found murdered himself.

Air Force test pilot captain Robert Holland made a fatal fall in a prototype wing-suit. However his corpse was moved to the desert and he was dying from a brain condition anyway. The team soon realizes being lied to by the widow, who knew of his infidelity, his military project manager USAF major Bernard Mills and two-faced wing-suit company executive Claudia Mason, who encouraged after-hours (ab)use of the prototype. Holland's colleague Jack Ferris suffers a gruesome death during his revealing interrogation, which lead to more secrets to be tied in.

The teenager Abby Fisher and her boyfriend Slade walk through a dangerous alley, when a homeless man points a gun to robber them. However, Slade fights back and kills the man. He flees, but Abby remains in the place. When Officer Akers arrives at the crime scene, she asks to talk to Sara Sidle. She explains to Officer Akers that, ten years ago, Abby's father killed the whole family and committed suicide while camping, and Abby was the only survivor. However, Abby explains to Sara that the incident with the homeless brought forgotten memories from the night her family was killed to her with the smell of kerosene and her father was not the killer and was innocent. Sara decides to revisit the case closed ten years ago, since she had not processed all the evidence. Dr. Robbins had affirmed that it was a suicide, and the case was closed. Russell lets her reopen the case, knowing that Dr. Robbins and Ecklie will not be happy.

In Seattle, Jared Briscoe is released by the justice and his brother Paul Winthrop celebrates in a press conference. Russell decides to use Maya as a bait to capture the twin brothers, but Daniel Shaw lures Maya saying that Russell has asked him to drive her to the airport. However, Maya is using a wire and Daniel's car is followed by several police cars. When he enters a warehouse, he switches car and drives to meet Paul without being wired. Now the CSIs need to process the area to track where Daniel may have gone with Maya.

During a Murderabilia Convention, where the attendees worship serial killers, it is found a body when the main attraction of the fair is showed. The car of the serial-killer Lucas Reems has a body on the driver's seat. Russell and Morgan identify the victim as Damon Harlow, who is the organizer of the fair with his partner Alex Friel. Soon the CSI's learn that the knife that stabbed Damon was made of Lucas' bone, and the father of one of his victims, Bruce Waters, may be connected to the murder. But when Bruce is found murdered, they need to switch their investigation.

A gang of masked men will beat a homeless man that is searching for cans, when a masked man arrives and challenges the gang in an alley. On the next morning, Nick and Sara arrive at the place to investigate the death of a man dressed like a superhero. The homeless man is located, Roger, and brought to the station, where he tells Sara that Batman saved him. Soon Greg and Morgan locate his also masked friends that they used to patrol the alley to get rid off small time criminals in the area. They also identify the victim as Brad Jeffries, and his mother Carla and his stepfather Seth explains Russell that Brad and his group are fighting criminals that have knives and guns. When Nick interviews Brad's friends, he learns that he had smashed the fender of a truck. When they locate the owner, Tony Agrerro, they find him dead. Who killed Brad and Tony?

Det. Crawford and Nick investigate the murder of a woman that is covered in silver paint. David Phillips finds a trauma to the back of her head caused by a blunt force. In the autopsy, Dr. Robbins discovers that the girl was drowned in silver paint since her lungs are filled of silver paint; therefore, the blunt force trauma was not the cause of death. She is identified as Ava Montrose, who had a long list of arrests for burglary and drugs. Sara interviews Ava's mother and her boyfriend, and she does not know any suspect since her daughter had a promiscuous life with many boyfriends. Hodges finds that the paint is used in the auto painting industry and the glass found in her foot is from the headlight of a car fabricated before 1939. Ava's bruise is identified from a Packard. Soon Finn finds that there is only one car in Las Vegas that belongs to the investment banker Carlo Derosa. Finn and Sara meet the arrogant banker and he tells that Ava was his former girlfriend. He shows his collection of classic cars in a warehouse, and they meet his estranged brother Aron. Soon Finn finds where Ava was murdered and that a 1976 Cadilac is missing. The priceless car belonged to their father, a notorious mobster in Las Vegas that was murdered inside. Now they have to find evidence to discover who the killer is.

Episode 17

While investigating the murder of a man, they discover that the victim was with the daughter of the head of the crime lab in San Diego, who offered Nick a job. They learn the man is in Las Vegas. He tells them that she was with her sister who lives in Las Vegas with his ex-wife. Later a video is posted that shows the girls were abducted. Nick does his best to find them.

Episode 18

Finn receives a package at home apparently from her mother with the statue of twins and a severed finger in a jar. Then she receives a phone call from Paul Winthrop saying that this is the beginning of the end. In the laboratory, Russell recalls the legend of the twins Castor and Pollux, and explains that Paul wants to say that now his brother and him are one and more powerful. Finn does not believe that Daniel Shaw, who is arrested, is Paul's partner. Daniel asks Finn to let him help her to find Paul's real partner. Daniel believes that Brother Larson was providing girls to Paul based on the lead he had followed to find his abducted daughter. Daniel is released to work with Finn and confronts Larson, but he tells that the money he received was from Paul's father, Collin, who paid him for extortion. Hodges identifies a rare tattoo ink that was used in Jared's tattoos in the severed finger, and he locates the wife of the artist, Margo Vance, who is living in Las Vegas with her twin sister Amelia. Greg and Sara go to Amelia's apartment and find the place fully processed and no body. They find also a photo of Paul tattooed like his brother. Russell learns that Paul Winthrop's bank account is frozen, so Collin Winthrop is providing Money to his son. Soon Russell learns dark secrets about the origins of Paul and Jared, disclosing the identity of their parents.
