Hollywood sex symbol Tom Haviland admits having had sex with a girl who is found in the same casino hotel, throat fatally pierced with a corkscrew. As he failed to clean up, the team quickly gathers enough evidence for a murder charge. His top lawyer chooses to demand a near-instant trial, leaving CSI almost no time to work out the part of Tom's buddy and a second victim, actually the first murder. Meanwhile Grissom's mentor and predecessor, Dr. Phillip Gerard, uses all his forensic expertise to question every move they make and discredit team members.

Peter Berglund and his girl-friend have naughty fun in Cal and Monica Newman's fabulous house, to which the real estate agent hands out the combination, then discover Monica's corpse with a bullet trough the temple. Husband Cal and his 15-year old son Max are missing; Nick's dive finds Cal in the pool, identified by Max's mother Jeri Newman. A valuable sculpture is missing, and similar thefts abound in houses sold through broker Augie Heitz, who also appears in a reflection on a sexy video left by Monica. Hunky, professional pool-boy Jack Jarvis reports that Cal often had rows with son Max, and admits taking screws from the pool filter as an excuse to return, hoping Monica would show even more of an interest in him. Greg finds Monica had sex with still another, unidentified man. The Augie on the video turns out to be cardboard; Archie finds a reflection of the actual cameraman: Max, but he doesn't quite fit the MO - Sara is called in on her day off to examine the corpse of Amanda 'Mandy' Kirk, a dead soccer cheerleader at a school who was bitten and has the infection E. coli, but the teethmarks don't fit the only boy known to be infected with it.

A Little Murder

When a dwarf is found hanged on the stage of a theater of the Little People Convention, Grissom, Sara, Nick and Capt. Brass investigate the case. They find that the victim is Lawrence Ames, considered handsome by the community, and his pregnant girlfriend Jessica Marcus is a normal woman. Meanwhile, Catherine and Warrick are assigned to a case of home invasion with one murder. While investigating the crime scene, Catherine is attacked by the criminal and wounded in the forehead. Soon they learn that the victim is not the owner of the house.

Unfortunately the last volunteer didn't come back and he claims he doesn't know where she went, and refuses to reveal how the trick works. The stagehand Punky Dillinger does know, whose fingerprints are on too many objects. Rival illusionist Toby Arcane and the identity of the victim Zoe prove interesting. Meanwhile Nick Stokes and Sara Sidle find the apparent O.D. of rock-band member Gus Kenyon must be staged by his murderer, which they look for in the band.

On the day of convicted serial killer-rapist John Mathers's execution, a new case following his MO causes a stay after countering the already administered lethal injection and urgent forensic (re-)examination. It was Catherine's first case leading to death row. The most modern techniques, even requiring federal equipment not available to Greg, show another killer was at work and probably one was a copy-cat, but the question remains in which order, as that may or not discharge Mathers.

A gang fight involving an arrogant 'modern' gangster turns out to tie in as well.

Brass urges Grissom for hastily examination of a corpse that is covered in fire ants, who made their nest in the casket and completely cleaned up bones. A black fly pupa case allows Grissom and Greg Sanders to establish an entomological time-line of about 19 months. Facial reconstruction from the skull for victim identification is extremely difficult, so he enlists the help of specialist 'artist' Teri Miller- it's stable boy Randy Traschell, Down syndrome, missing for 17 months from a horse ranch, which fits the dun beetle found in the skull. Geometrical extrapolation allows Nick Stokes to conclude a cheep spur was used; the broken-off tooth fits present stable-boy Enrique Vasquez, an illegal immigrant. Two symmetrical wounds in the corps fit - Catherine and Warwick examine a pornographic snuff movie, send to a studio, about a murdered porn star. Archie's triangulation identifies the abandoned Mandolin Tower hotel where it was made. The security guard admits having had paid sex with her, and kept silent about the blood afterward for fear to lose his job. Some saliva leads to porn producer Douglas Samson, who has a sexual crime record. A corps is found in the river bed: actress Susan Hodap, HIV positive and hence quarantined from the legal porn circuit.

Blood Lust

Taxi driver Rajeeb Khandewahl accidentally runs over a teenage pedestrian boy and is brutally battered in hospital, where he later dies, by a gang of white trash who think the 'foreign scum' runs away. Grissom remarked his intestines are at the outside, which is very rare, and Dr. Albert Robbins' autopsy shows that the boy was run over after being killed by a stab wound; his blood traces to the park, where a hidden handgun is found, not a knife, and another dead man. His mother identifies the stabbed kid as Todd Branson; she says she was on the run with Todd and his kid brother Eric for her violent ex, which she told them to be dead. The corpse in the park has a typical knife-wielder's hand-wound and a fatal bullet-wound in the heart. The gun was John Ruark's, the corpse is Mrs. Branson's boyfriend Stewart Bradley and has a posthumously dislocated shoulder, as if dragged by a woman or a kid.

High and Low

Grissom, Nick and Warrick examine a body fallen out of the sky, literally in front of two teenage skaters, but there is blood on top of the six-store building, he was dumped, maybe already dead; Nick finds a crack-pipe. He has no ID, just a distinctive Icarus-tattoo for the chosen one, according to the drug-convicted artist it's Jimmy Maurer who was sure to die. The cause of death is suffocation, but without strangulation- he fell from much higher; pine pollen point to Mount Potosi, used for paragliding, which proves very competitive; he had a show-off reputation and determined rival, Fred Dacks; his truck is still there... Grissom's hearing problems may require surgery. Catherine and Detective Ray O'Riley investigate a man who was shot trough the chest with his own show-off gun; a waitress heard fighting and a loud sound, she says he's Roger Edmonds, a regular who attracted trouble; mulberries in the truck point to his neighbor Ned Bookman, who points to neighbor Frank Kraft, with record, from whom Roger allegedly 'borrowed' without asking, a bad habit in such an unfriendly neighborhood...

Grissom and Catherine head to the kitchen of the restaurant, where they find a team tied by a code. Meanwhile, Warrick and Sara investigate the apparent suicide of a bipolar woman. They learn that she was a very violent person when stopped using lithium and hated by many people. They suspect she might have been murdered in accordance with the crime scene..

When a group of bird watchers sees a raven with an eyeball in its nest, the CSI team investigate the case. They trace a radius from the nest and using the evidences, they find the location where the corpse may have been dumped. Catherine, Sara, Nick and Capt. Brass find the body and they identify the body. The prime suspect is the ex-husband of the victim. Meanwhile, Grissom, Warrick and Dr. Robbins find that the car seller Fred Stearns is not dead but dies later. They suspect that one of his colleagues may have killed him.

Brass investigate the case and Grissom learns that Matt Phelps is Warrick's mentor and friend. Warrick's investigation is conducted based on his emotions instead of on the evidences with serious consequences for Matt and a suspect. Meanwhile, Nick and Sam Vega investigate the mysterious death of a boss of a four-men Internet service company in the air-conditioned servers' room. They find many secrets in the team but no suspect and no murder weapon. Until Nick observes the duct of the air-conditioning.

They find fingerprints on the windows and they learn that the criminal is escalating in his crimes. They fear that he soon will rape his victim since this was his first break in. Meanwhile, Sara learns that the paraplegic prosecutor Melissa Winters will be submitted to a surgery of high risk. Three years ago, Winters was shot on the neck in a home invasion where her husband as killed, but the murderer has not been found. Now the bullet has moved and she needs the surgery. Sara decides to reopen the cold case using the bullet withdrawn in the surgery to try to find the criminal.

Meanwhile, Catherine and Nick investigate a decomposed body of the also male prostitute Croix Richards in his apartment. Catherine receives a phone call from Eddie's phone, who is with Lindsey, with poor reception, but soon she learns that Lindsey is screaming and she leaves the crime scene to seek out her daughter. She finds Lindsey in a car in the water but she rescues her. Sara and Det. Vega investigate the case and they suspect that Eddie is dead. Meanwhile Grissom concludes that both victims may have been dead by insulin and they were employees of Lady Heather. Grissom and Catherine visit the suspect Rebecca and meet her husband Steven McCormick that tells to them a weird story. Then he goes with Capt. Brass to Lady Heather's house. Grissom has a personal moment with Lady Heather and when he learns that she is diabetic, he requests a warranty to get her insulin.

The police chase a car erratically driven by a man. When he stops in front of a casino, the officers realize that he has a wooden stake stuck in his head. Grissom and Nick investigate the case and the victim, Alex James, has no record. They go with Det. Lockwood to the company owned by James and find residues of gold and other precious metal melted in the furnace. Further, he owned also mines in Nevada. Meanwhile, Catherine, Warrick and Capt. Grass investigate the kidnapping of the boy Isaiah Jones-Tombs, the son of the wealthy basketball player Tavian Tombs. The note demands a five-million-dollar ransom, but the kidnapper never catches the money. When the police find the boy dead, the autopsy discloses useful information to the investigators.

Crash and Burn

An old woman crashes her car into a building for apparently no reason. When it emerges that three of the five people in the window were from the same healthcare company, and she had cancer, the team realize it may not be an accident. Sara is happy to see Hank survived the incident, but during the case, she discovers he may be two-timing. Meanwhile, a woman dies of CO poisoning, with her husband being left seriously ill, despite him lying in the same bed. It emerges that the chimney was sabotaged, so it most definitely wasn't an accident.

Precious Metal

When a decomposed body is found in a gallon of dangerous materials, Grissom, Catherine, Nick, Sara and Capt. Brass investigate the case. When the DNA results come, they learn that the victim is the former army sergeant Christian Cutler. They identify that the drum came from a warehouse owned by Ginger Kellen and where there is a competition called Robot Rumble where robots are designed to destroy other robots. Meanwhile, Grissom, Warrick and Sam Vega investigate the death of Keith Mercer, who has been in the morgue for eleven days. They interview his wife and his partner, but they o not become suspects. When they check his cellphone calls, they find a lead.

A Night at the Movies

When a man is found stabbed on the neck in an Art House Movie Theater, Grissom, Catherine and Capt. Brass assume the investigation. They learn that the victim is the dentist Gus Sugarman and the movie usher says that there was a red-haired woman with him. Further, she used the phone booth in the reception. They identify Gus's cellphone record and sees that Audrey Hilden has called him three consecutive times when he was dead. Catherine and Grissom visit Audrey and he notes a schedule of the Art House Movie Theater posted in a board. Soon Brass finds that Audrey had filed a lawsuit against Gus claiming assault during her visit and she becomes the prime-suspect. Meanwhile, Nick, Sara, Warrick and Detective O'Riley investigate the mysterious murder of the fifteen-year-old Timmy McCallum in an empty warehouse with hundreds of bullet holes on the wall and ceiling. Sara finds a long piece of bamboo on the roof and decides to investigate also the possible evidence.

Last Laugh

While performing on the stage, the comedian Dougie Max dies. Grissom, Catherine and Capt. Brass investigate the case and Grissom and his team conclude that he was poisoned by the expensive bottled water Innoko. When a teenager dies in a convenience store, Warrick is assigned by Grissom to investigate the case, and soon he finds that the youngster had drunk Innoko water. Grissom finds that the bottles came from the same lot, and was not a tampering case. Meanwhile, Brass asks Nick to reopen the case of Shelley Stark, who died in an accident in a bathtub and Brass did not call any CSI investigator. He has just seen her husband with a hot woman driving a Ferrari and he is intrigued, since the man was inconsolable. Nick and Sara reopen the case and find new evidences.

Forever

When a private jet lands after a party, they find the trainer Lori Hutchins dead apparently stomped by the horse in the cargo bay. Grissom, Catherine, Nick and Capt. Brass investigate the case. The horse is in quarantine and the veterinarian Dr. Stevens help Catherine to collect material from the animal. They interview the owner of the jet, guests and crew and find two tranquilizers dart in the cargo bay. When the horse mysterious die, Dr. Robbins make the autopsy and they learn what happened in the flight. Meanwhile, Sara, Warrick and Det. Lockwood investigate the suicide of a teenager in the middle of the desert. When they find a second body dead in the same circumstances, they believe it was a kind of "Romeu and Juliet" pact of the younger. Then they identify the couple, Toby Wellstone and Jill Frommer, and interview her mother trying to understand why they died in a distant place and separated from each other.

Alison was his girlfriend and was having sex with the drug dealer Jesus to postpone the debt of Jason with him. Meanwhile, Greg's DNA laboratory explodes and Sara and him are injured. Warrick and Catherine are assigned to investigate the case and find the responsible for the accident.

He was a former valet of the Rampart Casino, owned by Sam Braun. When they find the name of the owner of the stolen box, Benny Murdock, an Catherine recognizes the name.
