The bombs are traced to an anti-government society, including the McCann brothers. Nick talks sense into junior Jason. Yet a booby-trapped homeless corpse indicates the LVPD remains targeted.

He was dumped after drowning elsewhere. the only car traces lead to the corpse in Las Vegas of natural gas company Conservo's engineer Richard Adams, who was hot and hidden in a dumpster. the trail leads back to Burns' neighbor Bill Gibson, who commits suicide in a spectacularly surprising way, desperate because of extreme pollution, most likely the result of Conservo's 'fracking'. All three had contact with the local one woman-newspaper maker.

Greg's team is confused about the domestic deaths of couple, fatally hurting his during his shower while she fell on her breakfast kitchen knife. There was no intruder, only the clever parrot, who drove the ex-con neighbor nuts, and the bird's other mortal enemy, the cat, were home.

Meanwhile, Nick and Langston investigate the death of Benjamin Fowler, who has just divorced his wife and was found at the bottom of a swimming pool in the house of his friends that are lodging him. They suspect of a robbery followed by a homicide.

A woman crawls through the woods and stumbles upon a cougar. Her body is found by a hiker that calls the police. Langston arrive to investigate to investigate the crime scene. Soon she is identified as the social worker Iona Vail, who worked in a shelter for abused women. Sara interviews Debra, who worked with Iona at the shelter, and she learns that she had quit her job six weeks ago when she broke up with her boyfriend. Sara brings a box with Iona's belongings to the office and finds that she was client of Lady Heather, a.k.a. Dr. Kessler. Meanwhile, Nick and Dr. Robbins are heading to the office, when a man asks for help, telling them that she saw a dead girl through a window. They break in the house, and finds a pregnant young woman hanged in her room. Dr. Robbins finds that the fetus is still moving and saves the baby. They identify the woman as the seventeen-year-old Maria Diori and evidences that she had struggled before her death. Her boyfriend becomes the prime suspect.

A male corpse found in a cattle farmer's stable manure pile without hands besides female hands severed with similar skill is probably San Diego plastic surgeon Kole. The team fears Nate Haskell killed him and his nurse after getting a thus untraceable new identity, but it turns out there's another victim, a patient, and at least one more killer. Meanwhile wealthy Avery Tinsdale and his wife report, with suspicious delay, a ransom demand video for their estranged daughter Vivian from Haskell, but she's one of his brides and the delivery goes wrong, probably thus planned, and Avery's computer discloses a nasty blackmail history. Both cases link involving anther bride and blood relation, but Haskell isn't found.

The team learns he didn't have plastic surgery after all. Langston is dragged along, against his better judgment, in Nate's trap with his ex wife as bait after her new groom is butchered.

Nick, Greg and Sara unearth evidence that Nate turned sadist while Arvid abused him and his mother, who is among a series of clandestine graves on the farm, and where he stole the Haskel identity. Sheriff Conrad Ecklie stalls I.A. detective Schultz while Brass sees to the disappearing of crucial evidence against Langston.
