Despite credibility loss risk, fabulously well-connected and -informed BBC reporter Jeffrey Kahn counsels the team and acts as translator, the tiny police force could only assign single Constable Hoque. Uday was blackmailed for debts by henchmen of a ruthless street gang who shot only him, but not on boss's orders, nor kept by them. The rogue gang intruder who has and abuses the Americans with a fatal result has his own bitterly vindictive tragic motive.

Understaffed Singapore police's Inspector Cheong sees little reason to allow the FBI questioning the apparently open and shut murder -rare in the city state- of a colleague by US flight attendant Kathy Hall, whom security cameras recorded running after slashing the victim, even without a clear motive. The team however son suspects links with smuggling (drugs?), a lover boy and even kidnapping, all proven and tied together.

To both's horror, this compromises the cover of Jack's son Ryan Garrett as infiltrated DEA agent, and it's a race against time to get his son back to his undercover operation.

His brother Elias rather then Greek police liaison Balaban helps the team check on a possible feud with Albanian mob lord Besnik Heta. The disappearance before it all started of British war veteran Collin Marks is key to an unusual theory.

Garret rightly suspects FBI Deputy Director Walter Atwood won't properly defend him and his team members, questioned in turn, by an Internal Affairs-like panel chaired by hostile Justice official Assistant Director Linda Barnes. They are accused of various faults, procedure breaks of even crimes concerning the disastrous attempted questioning in a joint investigation with the police of civil war-torn (ficticious) Kurjikistan capital Qalea of Edward Delgado, a personal friend of Clara Seger since a Burma case, who was killed in an attack on the FBI convoy to local police captain Basir Rifai inside the 'steel ring'. The IRT itself may be 'convicted' to disbanding, unless the team finds the traitorous truth first.

The team gets an atypical request from Taiwan to investigate several murders following the MO of a Brooklyn serial killer, who also frustrated Clara's study buddy. It turns out he probably wasn't inactive for years but traveled around the Pacific. He's clever enough to escape a Taipeh police trap, but the mysterious link between victims is found: a dating website for professionals with a typical profile that somehow triggers his deep trauma. Combined with a New York past, that allows profiling.

US singer went to Jamaica to record a song in his cousin Winston Barlow's studio, but is arrested as sole suspect for his murder near his Blue Mountains estate shortly after an angry fallout. Seeking with Kingston liaison Inspector Jonario Shaw; against his men's prejudice against 'rich parasite artists', to prove his innocence, while in custody, the FBi team links the case to other violent crimes with different MO but roughly on a line to Kingston and by traces of red dirt to a freshly-used grave, from which they trail a 'zombie' linked to an untouchable mob baron.

The FBI team flies to Nepal, where the Senani Aadi Thakur's police team is inclined to ascribe a US yoga tourist's bloody killing to a beast, probably a yeti, which only Russ contemplates might even exist. The autopsy initially supports such theory, but concludes on an at least semi-human killer, fitting the conflicting indications found by tracker Matt. The yogi 'maharistri Pemb' was actually a Californian ex-con, but is found murdered himself, and locals keep quite about similar killings, due to Buddhist karma and to avoid scaring off tourists. Both police teams set out to search the 'killer yeti', while a profile theory links his psychopathic aggression to the recent earthquake body-count, confirmed in the cave lair.

The famous St. Petersburg ballet exceptionally casted Yankee Felicia Pope in a lead, but she's kidnapped. Russia agreed to the FBI team helping out, but quietly, unarmed and under strict supervision from Major General Galina Glazunov. The ritual MO suggests a complex psychosis, complicated when a costume mask is returned and a severed toe is received. Garret calls in his nearly-retired ex-KGB-friend Boris, who helps trace the MO, fitting the assumed-dead 'Riga Ripper', to a mental asylum where Oleg Antakov, the Ripper of Riga, is incarcerated. He plays games and escapes. Jack realizes the madman's vindictive revenge plan is turned on his family, indeed cop son Ryan Garrett, who is abducted for a most sadistic finale.
