CSI Alina Burroughs travels to rural Ohio to investigate the 1988 murder of Marjorie "Margie" Coffey, a single mother who was strangled and dumped in an icy creek. Alina discusses the forensic evidence used in the murder case, which centered upon two strands of fiber. She speaks with Charles Oswalt, the man who was convicted and sentenced with the crime. He has done his time and is now out of prison, but he maintains that he still is, and always was, innocent. David Messmore, a former detective for the Mansfield Police Department in Ohio, appears on the show and discusses the case.
