As soon as Annie, the CIA chaperon, escorts Carlo out, a hit-man's fire forces them to run from him and the Argentine operations. The home front suspects and finds dirty play from State Department, presumably executive Romano Genard, while Jorge and Annie get to know and appreciate each-other.

Annie finds out from his sister that he is alive, but expected to turn over invaluable information on a whole A Qaeda-branch to the FBI team which worked on the case for years. Auggie planned vengeance, but should dutifully just see his nemesis defect to the US government's side.

They want to give an interview to a local cable station, so Annie has to interrupt mountaineering with Dr. Scott Weiss to pose as reporter, accompanied by Joan as producer and Ben as cameraman, while Jai gets his father Henry Wilcox to use his influence as US board member. Arthur only authorized an observation mission, but action becomes unavoidable.

The CIA mourns the murder at home of language professor Ramsay. His agency link was kept secret even for Annie, whom he recommended for recruitment, like many unsuspecting students. His Pakistani widow Safia is furious to learn the same secret, inspiring Annie she must tell her own sister, whom Auggie masterly keeps ignorant by pimping the Smithsonian cover. Safia becomes both suspect and probable target as the murder is ascribed to a Pakistan-based Jihadist group, about whom the professor somehow kept data in an old-fashioned micro dot, so Jai seduces their front charity's executive Rubina Jafari.

Jai also takes an interest, as Jacob can lead to seasoned Yemeni terrorist Fouad Saeed, against whom Eyal holds a deep personal grudge. Meanwhile Auggie notifies his special interest in late comrade in arms Billy's sister, asking to switch her Peace Cors mission away from Eritrea.

The only way ho could still smuggle out instructions is trough the one move a jail visit chess game with his naive daughter Grace, who runs a nearby stud-farm, while her sister Bebe only visits Grace. Contact with Saudi arms dealer Adrian Al-Rabeeb is observed, but proves irrelevant. Annie must try to win Grace's confidence as 'free lance reporter' for a horse breeding magazine.

Jai is tempted by his father Henry Wilcox to advance his career by testifying on a delicate mission against Arthur, who didn't even inform Joan, but Jai seizes an even more ruthless opportunity. Annie is on holiday in Stockholm with sister Danielle, who after her husband confessed repeated infidelity, shamelessly flirts all the way with local pen-friend Magnus, a florist. The CIA instructs Annie to pick up documents at a fancy trade exchange for local agent Petr, but the anonymous contact's place is taken by a killer who mixes up and pursues the sisters, who seek refuge in host Magnus's country retreat.
