Episode 1
One prison officer shot dead, the other injured, and the crim they were escorting is now at large. As Homicide embarks on a killer manhunt, Nick gets close to a journalist with a hidden agenda. As Duncan and Nick interrogate the prisoners and prison staff for clues, the media step up the pressure on Homicide. A second murder brings to light a lethal drug syndicate responsible for multiple prison deaths. Have the players in this drug ring been driven to murder to conceal their web of corruption? As the manhunt intensifies, Nick meets Juliette Gardiner, a journalist covering the 10th anniversary of a high-profile homicide he solved as a young detective. The liaison soon becomes more than professional, but things get complicated when Juliette gets a tip-off to investigate Nick - could he be a corrupt cop?

Episode 2
A frantic husband arrives at homicide looking for his missing wife when the body of a strangled woman is discovered. He identifies the dead woman as their lover and introduces the homicide detectives to the world of swinging. Rhys and a reluctant Allie go undercover to find a killer and catch a sociopath. Journalist Juliette continues looking into her confidential source's allegations of corruption against Nick and his old sergeant in the Dane Majors case. Juliette and Nick's relationship gets complicated. Nick denies planting evidence, but Juliette isn't convinced. Nick takes another look at key players and the evidence that led to Majors' conviction.

Episode 3
Juliette Gardiner, investigative reporter, is brutally gunned down in a car park. Three people witnessed this attack: her killer, her source, and her ex-lover - Nick Buchanan. Juliette's death reveals Nick's connection to evidence fabrication in an old case. Dane Majors - Australian cricket legend - was charged and convicted of killing his wife. A star scalp for Nick, and a killer off the streets, or so he thought. A niggle of doubt grows into serious accusations when Nick suspects his former mentor of evidence tampering. With the media and the State's Attorney General clamouring for answers, Homicide might have to play dirty to catch the true culprit. Will the team go too far to protect one of their own or will Nick be forced to fall on his own sword?

Episode 4
The case that made Nick Buchanan's career has fallen apart. His mentor killed himself after confessing to planting evidence and shooting the journalist. Dane Majors is released from prison and Nick resigns, causing the reopening of the original murder investigation.

Episode 5
The Dane Majors saga continues with his lawyer and a trial judge both murdered. When Nick goes missing along with journalist Alan Sullivan Jennifer enlists the help of Stanley as Jarvis mounts pressure on Majors. Elsewhere, Bernice tries to get Rhys to join a new task force but her attempts go unanswered. Later, Michael Lombardi tells Bernice he is dissolving the Homicide Squad.

Episode 6
The team investigate the death of ex-fighter Charlie Mansfield at a church hospice - after a death bed confession that he murdered three people. Bernice breaks it to Homicide that Attorney General Lombardi is breaking up the squad but Rhys tells all gathered to stand up and fight for it not to happen. Meanwhile, Lombardi pays a visit to Bernice and she tells him if he keeps Homicide intact she will resign but he refuses but also tells her that her resignation is non-negotiable - she goes too. But then Rhys and Duncan catch a lead with the initial murder investigation and the suspect confesses to a connection with Michael Lombardi which could topple Lombardi for good.
