While Homicide delves into a subculture of car boosting and vehicle re-birthing, they also face interference from Serious Crime's Detective Superintendent Gary Beck. He's a copper cleared of past corruption charges, but Matt's not convinced he's squeaky clean.

Even if this does feel like history repeating.

Matt on the other hand discovers a personal link to the case, upping the ante to find the killer fast.

Teaming up with Customs Agent Jack Ferguson, the crew confront hitmen, dodgy truck operators and reluctant witnesses to solve this crime. Customs and Homicide haven't always got along but Jarvis' long-standing friendship with Ferguson will ensure a smooth collaboration this time around. However, the reunion digs up some unresolved pain for tough guy Jarvis. Meanwhile, Duncan proposes a risky plan to flush out the hitmen and nail the person responsible for two deaths.

The Homicide team look into the hit-and-run death of Yvette Simpson after a person comes forward some weeks later and says that she was intentionally hit by the car. The case leads them to the police union and a subsequent investigation by the public standards committee which brings Bernice back in contact with Michael Mellor who brought corruption charges before her previously. Can they work together to find Yvette's killer?

Society has long preyed on the hopes and insecurities of overweight women, but what if your loved ones are making a profit from your pain? A con man has found a way to exploit the vulnerabilities of these women but has he stooped to murder to cover his tracks? Homicide's investigation soon expands to incorporate weight-loss groups, disgruntled employees and spurned women. With money and self-image at the heart of the case, there's sure to be passion behind the murder - but is it anger or love driving the killer?

Three unrelated strangers, resulting in an endless trail of suspects. Careless thieves are the obvious perps in these unnecessary deaths. But something isn't adding up, and the team struggles to deduce intent and motive. The bombing investigation must be put aside by Duncan and Matt when they are pulled onto another Homicide. A John Doe, brutally asphyxiated and stuffed into a bag. So badly decomposed that not even fingerprints can be found. Finding an identity for the victim is the first step but will this raise more questions than it answers?

A frantic 000 call. Two masked men have ripped through a suburban home, searching for something, shooting the father and raping the mother, with their six-year-old son the only witness. The mother refuses to tell Homicide anything useful, leaving the young child, who communicates mainly by way of his toy monkey Alfie, the only reliable witness. But when Social Services refuses to let Homicide interrogate him, the case is looking pretty useless. Extensive photos of the pair may bring the truth to the table. The mother was lying about something, it seems. Was she raped? Did her son really see the shooting? And who really did kill her husband? Lies surround her, but can DSC Mapplethorpe solve this case on fact, not lies?

After discovering that Simon didn't sign his gun into the gun safe before he went on holiday Bernice asks Claudia to do a covert investigation on Simon to check his stability on the job. Meanwhile, the team investigate the death and dumping of a council worker in a submerged car and find links to a housing estate on contaminated soil and a private investigator who was silenced. The investigation leads Simon to be suspended after the alleged culprit falls from his building.
