Air 1, Marion County's elite helicopter unit, responds to life-threatening events across Central Florida, starting with the search for an armed suspect who fled after shooting a police captain in cold blood. As night falls, deputies lose sight of the fugitive in a densely wooded area. Chief Pilot Darren Bruner has to use Air 1's state of the art equipment to find the gunman and guide a SWAT team to him before he can escape and attempt to kill again.

A suspect drives a pickup truck the wrong way on the interstate in a desperate bid to escape pursuing deputies. Air 1 races to catch up to the chase. Without them, ground deputies are blindly weaving through traffic. As the deputies attempt to force the suspect's truck off the road, Air 1 learns that the chase is barreling toward standstill traffic. Later, Air 1 has to execute a risky maneuver to back up a deputy who finds himself outnumbered while arresting a fugitive on the run.

A suspect shoots at officers following a high-speed chase. Air 1 is called in to find the violent armed offender before anyone else gets hurt. Rookie trainee Roman West and his field training officer, Deputy Luiken, have to wait behind cover for backup. The suspect flees into a swamp surrounded by housing developments. After hours of searching, a citizen calls 911 and reports that the armed suspect is hiding under their home. Air 1 scrambles to direct SWAT units to the location.

A man is murdered in the front yard of his Marion County home. The suspect flees in a 1970s Cadillac, so Air 1 is called in to track down the vehicle. Just after takeoff, Deputy Tim Marton spots the Cadillac pulling onto the interstate. Supervisor Doug Watts is faced with a choice: authorize his Deputy to force the vehicle off the road, or end the pursuit? While he weighs his decision, Watts recounts a previous chase that resulted in several deaths - one that haunts him to this day.

A Mother and her son call 911 when they get lost in The Ocala National Forest. As night falls, Air 1's thermal camera is their only hope for a rescue. With one Deputy on the ground and no visible landmarks to guide rescuers to her location, the helicopter has to search dozens of miles of wilderness for two tiny specs of heat. Just as they begin their search, a thunderstorm moves into the area. The Air unit races against the clock to rescue the lost hikers before disaster strikes.

The search for a stolen car takes a personal turn when Pilot Darren Bruner's wife, Marjorie, locates the suspect vehicle on an isolated rural road without backup. When Air 1 arrives on the scene, Darren watches from above while Marjorie follows the car down a dead-end road. With backup still minutes away, Marjorie corners the suspects in a driveway. But with nowhere for the suspects to flee, there's no way for Darren to assist if the car thieves choose to turn on Marjorie and fight.

A 911 caller reports a suspicious person in a neighborhood. Air 1 watches the subject steal a car and speed off, crashing through yards and fences. Deputies catch up to the vehicle, and the suspect flees out of the neighborhood and onto the main thoroughfare, leaving a path of destruction in their wake. Air 1 directs backup units into the area while reporting on the suspect's location. The vehicle's tires start falling apart, and the suspect loses control of the car in a shower of sparks.

Air 1 locates two carjacking suspects at a gas station. When deputies try to box the vehicle in, the subjects attempt to flee and ram a Sheriff's SUV. The driver jumps out and runs on foot. While deputies give chase, the passenger hops behind the wheel and drives off in the stolen car. With two potentially armed suspects fleeing in opposite directions, ground units are counting on Air 1 to find the violent subjects before they can escape and pose a threat to innocent bystanders.

Sgt. Micah Moore calls in Air 1 when he finds an abandoned car filled with blood. Are the deputies looking for an injured driver or a violent suspect? As Air 1 begins its search, a woman calls 911 and reports that she escaped the car after the driver attacked her. Just as the information comes in, a fog layer descends over the area, obscuring Air 1's camera. With the helicopter's night vision limited, ground deputies race to find the erratic suspect before he escapes and threatens anyone else.

When a rookie deputy corners two armed robbery suspects without backup, Air 1 races to the scene to protect one of their own. In Marion County, Sheriff's Deputies often work alone, but they never plan to go into a situation where potentially armed subjects outnumber them. While backup units push their vehicles to the limit to reach their fellow officers as quickly as possible, Air 1 circles low over the scene, hoping to deter the suspects from threatening the rookie deputy.
