Lise's career as a TV host is put to the test when her program is threatened with closure. After a discussion about children with husband Martin, Lise drifts off to get some fresh air. Here, Lise bumps into Johannes and gets an idea.

Lise's idea has given 'Denmark Awakes' a chance to survive. The editors are struggling to find a new, younger path for the program. Lise revisits Johannes for a feature about his lifestyle and also bids on a hosting job at an Award show.

Lise forgets Martin's birthday and the atmosphere between them is strained. Editors have doubts about Lise's idea, but when they hear that Johannes also is a chef, they invite him in. Martin's birthday doesn't go as he or Lise had planned.

Johannes is now employed as a chef on the program and the initiative seems to be working. Lise gets answers to a DNA test, which indicates that she has family that she doesn't know about. Lise tries to talk to Martin about it.

Lise and Martin try to give their marriage a romantic face-lift. It is disrupted and Lise gets a truth out of Inger that she has been hiding for a long time. Martin realizes that he and Lise have more problems than just children.

Lise has a confession to Martin. There is great disagreement in the editorial office. Johannes demands answers from Lise. Lise has a long-awaited showdown with her mother. Johannes withdraws from the program and Lise tries to contact him.

Lise and the rest of 'Denmark Awakes', are testing a new concept with a good response. Lise seeks out Johannes. They exchange truths. Martin feels the jealousy. The editors celebrate the good numbers and Viktoria has news for them.

Episode #1.8
'Denmark Awakes' has a visit from all the previous hosts. Lise resumes contact with her mother and gets the word out. Lise makes decisions that have a strong influence on her future and new opportunities arise.
