Charles Geno Marsala explores the impact of coastal erosion due to oil and gas pipelines at Isle de Jean Charles, Delacroix Island, and Yclowsky in St. Bernard Parish. We visit with Richie Blink, director of Delta Discovery Tours. Richie brings travelers deep into the Mississippi River Delta to learn more about dealing with coastal change. We take a ride with pilot Dr. Bonny L. Schumaker, Phd. and see from her first hand accounts flying over the vanishing gulf coast for decades. Captain Randall Shaw shows us abandoned oil and gas pipelines as well as small patches of land that used be large islands. Finally we visit with oyster-men Brad Robin and hear about how his family has used creative methods to survive through Katrina and the BP oil spill.

A project 10 years in the making, the museum explores the history of life along the Mississippi River from Baton Rouge south to the mouth of the river. Kevin Kelly chats with Charles Marsala of AWE News about his Greek revival mansion and plantation that includes lavish gardens, lodging and elegant restaurants. Located between Baton Rouge and New Orleans, The Houmas House Estate allows visitors to experience the life on a sugarcane plantation in the 1800's. The mansion has been restored to the antebellum era, reflecting the opulence and wealth this sugarcane farm boasted in the 1880's. The guided mansion tour walks through the 250 year history, showing the architectural evolution of this manor house and how it became a grand estate. Cliff Deal discusses his passion for keeping the culture and history of St. Francisville, LA alive.

Louisiana State Parks feature first class facilities including cabins and activities such as canoe trails, fishing, hiking, biking and more. Louisiana's historic sites transport visitors to a community dating 1,500 years before the arrival of European settlers and explorers of the Louisiana Purchase all the way through the turn of the 20th century. Charles Marsala of AWE News interviews acclaimed photographer P.J. Hahn on his journeys throughout Louisiana. Lieutenant Governor Billy Nungesser unveils a new way to stay inside eight Louisiana State parks. It's an innovative partnership expanding camping opportunities to new campers. Louisiana State Parks and Tentrr have set up more than 60 fully-equipped, safari-style tent sites throughout eight state parks. We interview Meg Cooper as she tells the story of Theodore Roosevelt and Holt Collier's infamous bear hunt in Rolling Fork, MS that led to the creation of the Teddy Bear. Theodore Roosevelt was a conservationist, starting the National Wildlife Refuge System back in 1903. The Breton Island National Wildlife Refuge in St. Bernard Parish is among 568 refuges in the U.S. Holt Collier was an infamous American Hunter, he lived an extraordinary and successful life while maintaining a friendship with Theodore after their first hunt. Every year in October, Rolling Fork hosts the Great Delta Bear Affair where they carve a new 12ft. wooden bear sculpture to add to their town's collection.

Every year on Jan. 8th there are commemorative events throughout the city for the Battle of New Orleans. We then take a trip around Louisiana to see the Blue Star and Gold Star memorials which are marked to pay tribute to the U.S. Armed Forces. Finally we spend time with the Krewe of Argus, who feature an Armed Forces Float as well as the Budweiser Clydesdales who contribute heavily to the Folds of Honor Program.

Charles Marsala of AWE News chats with wing leader David Capo on how the Big Easy Wing flew First Responders, Veterans and Archbishop Gregory Aymond to honor their work and sacrifice for our community. The Big Easy Wing is the official New Orleans chapter of the Commemorative Air Force (CAF). Designed to acquire, restore and preserve WWII Warbirds to flying conditions as well as educate our community through stories told through flight, events and artifacts. Charles Marsala talks with Project Manager Tom Gibbs of the The National WWII Museum. Tom discusses the history of the museum as well as the many events throughout the year held to honor veterans from all American wars. Veteran Ubert Terrell discusses his experience on D-Day and the many jumps he made behind enemy lines prior. Descendent of WWII Veterans, Risa Williams talks bout her Grandparents' experiences and how they inspire her. Finally we speak with Lee Broussard who was present on V-J Day when the US accepted the solemn surrender of Japan.

We talk with Special Projects Coordinator Ashley Franklin about the Wedell-Williams Aviation and Cypress Sawmill Museum in Patterson, LA. Finally we learn about the Reno Air Races, officially known as the National Championship Air Races. Begun in 1964, the Reno Air Races feature multi-lap, multi-aircraft races among extremely high performance aircraft on closed ovoid courses.
