Rob realizes that Sharon may be suffering the first throes of post-natal depression.

Helped by the anti-depressants Sharon returns to her mother and baby group but is shocked to discover that her only friend there Sam has left.

Fearful for her own marriage Sharon suggests a romantic week-end in Paris but, once there, panics when she finds she has left her breast milk pump at home. Eventually she manages to buy a new one, along with some dope, but the combination of the two is not a good idea.

She embarks upon an ill-conceived fling with film-maker Patrick whilst he is living in a rented flat and looking for outlets for his sexual frustration. Dave is attracted to Catherine, whom he meets at an AA group meeting but when she introduces him to her sober friends he does not hit it off with them and ends up back on the bottle.

Rob has double trouble - not only has Fergal failed to return the money Rob secretly loaned him behind Sharon's back but the rejected Olivia trumps up sexual harassment charges against him, leading to his suspension. Dave is also not in the best of places - being back on the booze and spiralling out of control.

After consideration Sharon makes up with him but the atmosphere is still less than ideal and she agrees to a night out with her wild friend Kate. Here she meets the attractive and much younger musician Nico and goes home with him. Next day she finds herself buying the morning after pill.
