Candice takes a few days off to move into a beautiful new beachfront house, but Victor Alonso's murder allows her to escape the mess of boxes and arguing children and to join her team reduced now to Chrystelle and Mehdi since Antoine requested the transfer to Montpellier Judicial Police. The main suspect is Dylan, son of the deceased, but Antoine and his boss in the PJ, Sylvie Leclerc, are taking up the case for it is related to a series of violent robberies they are investigating. Candice is upset with Antoine's attitude and for interfering in her criminal investigations.

Candice is called to testify in the Criminal Chamber as a witness for the prosecution, because she led the investigation that headed to the arrest of Xavier Legrand, a driving teacher and rapist of Céline Boher. Candice's testimony loses credibility when Antoine testifies and defense attorney, Eric Graziani, takes the opportunity to ridicule her investigative methods. In the meantime, a woman is found dead and raped. The similarities with Céline Boher case makes Candice think about an imitator, but the PJ takes the case instead.

While taking her children to the movies, Candice helps an old man who has been violently attacked by a young woman. The victim is actually Luc Normand, the president of an anti-abortion association, and the aggressor, Naomi Abittan, an intern in the local hospital's obstetric unit, pushed to the limit by the harassment that patients and employees of her unit suffer from this association. That same night, Candice receives a call for help from Naomi, but when she arrives finds out that she has been murdered.

The drone is part of the team current investigation and was stolen from a company named DronUp. Candice is surprised to find Leclerc, Antoine and Marquez at DronUp offices: the owner has been murdered and once more, the case has not been assigned to the BSU of Sète.

Upon his return to Sète, Antoine realizes that the team and Candice have lost their status and are only entrusted with drunken fights and shoplifting, for Attia's replacement, Slami, transfers the interesting criminal investigations to the BSU. However, the seemingly natural death of Robert Houdon and the disappearance of his valuables, lead Antoine and Candice to suspect Damien Darras, his physiotherapist, and to link it to the death of a number of wealthy, isolated and elderly retirees. This investigation returns Candice to Valenciennes, the city of her childhood, where she once experienced a family tragedy.

Stanislas Werner, her charming colleague from the local police, tries to protect her, but Candice scapes from the guardians to solve the case herself, suspecting that her own mother, Magda, with whom she has been angry for years, is behind all these crimes and she wants to confront her and find answers to the uncertainties of the past.

Unfortunately, the dissemination is unstoppable and false information begins to proliferate with the name and photograph of the alleged kidnapper, a paedophile. To avoid that the public take justice into their own hands, the team must find him before the drama takes place. On the other hand, Candice and Antoine continue their secret romance, but they do not tell their respective partners and David begins to suspect that something happened in Valenciennes. Jennifer is pregnant and Antoine asks her to abort.

Paul Jarquin is discovered dead in the trunk of an abandoned car, under a tunnel. Aline Jego, head of the Judicial Identity, hides one of the clues found at the crime scene, related to Nadia Vassarelli, former friend and co-religionist of "Revolutionary Action", a terrorist group that committed an attack in 1979, in which Christian Charriex died, crime that has prescribed. The team finds out that Jarquin was his son. Candice confronts Aline for not wanting to rat out her comrade and is forced to arrest her. Candice and Antoine continue their secret relationship, but Chrystelle discovers them and rebukes Candice for jeopardizing the stability of the group.
