Candice Renoir, a single mother starts her new job as commandant de police in Southern France and immediately she is strongly opposed by inspector Dumas, who has lead the group for a month and had hoped to become their leader definitively. Also it seems he has a "very good" relationship with Renoir's superior. Another one to oppose her is inspector Chrystelle da Silva. The only one to seem favourable is sergeant Jean-Baptiste Medjaoui. The first case is the murder of Sophie Vauquier, who worked for a weapons manufacturer and seems to have marriage problems. In the meantime Candice is juggling with her children and their lives, school etc.

Episode 2
Thierry Caron, 42, workaholic accountant, is found stabbed in his home next to his barbecue. Pascale Ibarruri, the I.J. responsible, shows the victim did not defend himself. Candice discovers that he and his wife Sylvie slept in separate rooms. Caron had started a campaign in the neighbourhood for the closure of an Inclusion Center for Mental Illnesses nearby with the excuse that one of the inmates, Christian Melki, attacked his son. Commissaire Attia tells Candice that her entire team has requested a transfer.

Candice and the team investigate a young man thrown into the harbor. As they progress, Candice finds similar cases which were ignored by the police.

Pascale determines cause of death bleeding from a rear skull fracture. He was caught unaware listening to music so he didn't defend himself. Antoine is sure it is a case of drug trafficking, but Étienne, the victim's father, claims Nathan was not a dealer. Pascale obtains fingerprints of Paul Agnesi, aka Mario, three convictions for narcotics, which seems to confirm Antoine's theory, but Candice thinks otherwise.
