Episode 1
In this pilot episode, then Major Les Hiddins introduces himself and the job he does; exploring northern Australia and cataloguing native food or "bush tucker" for the Australian Army. Starting at the town of Borroloola he heads into the Aboriginal reserve known as Arnhem Land. We follow his journey north, meeting up with an Aboriginal group who show him how to use tree bark to catch fish, then on to a base camp where he shows us his day job of gathering, collating and submitting bush tucker for nutritional analyses.

Surviving the rainy season in Australia's Northern Territory.
Episode 3
Moving away from the tropics, Major Les Hiddins takes us into the Australian desert country to show that it is possible to survive even in this harsh landscape. From a honey-ant forage with the women of Papunya, west of Alice Springs he travels through the "arid zone" to hunt water with a guide from Yuendumu, perform a bit of emergency bush repair on a water can and round off the trip gathering one of Australia's most famous bush tuckers with a group from Lajamanu.
Episode 4
Major Les Hiddins takes us to the remote Kimberley region of Northwest Australia. Starting on the beach beside a food tree with a piece of historical graffiti he leads us inland, up through the gorge of the Prince Regent river in the fateful footsteps of the explorer George Grey. Pausing occasionally to grab a snail or two, dig for yams or visit an ancient native art gallery, Maj. Hiddins talks us through Grey's unsuccessful journey as we trace his path deep into the Kimberley.
