The late Nate's nasty bookie Mechoso demands payment of his hefty 'inherited' gambling debts from Madelin, threatening to hurt baby Charlie, just now she's expecting full custody. Fiona helps her neutralize the brute by breaking i t rob his mob-due cash from a safe, which also happens to contain his confidential ledger.

Michael appeals to Fiona, assisted by his mother, to work on the Miami end to get a grip on the Russians via their corrupt Florida representative, who is vulnerable for blackmail, while Sam and Jesse pretend to have turned on 'traitor' Weston as an airport diversion while Sonya asks a smuggler to prepare their escape by boat.

Terrorists manage to poison Hamad, but the team works out the key man is drug baron Khalid Maziq, who is worked-over whatever it takes. Back in Miami, James has Maddie tailed and visits her at home, making clearing even Charlie isn't safe for him. Snyder proves equally ruthless and cowardly, with grim results, mostly on his own side.

With cloak and dagger secrecy, James instructs Micheal through Sonya to eliminate as 'too knowledgeable' freelance agencies-mediator Roger Steele. He refuses to hire Westen on his security team as undesirable to many clients and his home is impenetrable, so CIA handler Andrew Strong orders a fatal sniper hit on the road, worsening Sam and Jesse's objections to ever less moral methods. Fiona's lover Carlos Cruz is targeted by his old barrio street crime buddies on the orders of gang boss Nando, recently released on a technicality after Carlo's testimony sent him to jail. Fiona helps him find and convince another witness to have Nando locked up for life, but things keep going wrong until an unlikely ally is played gruesomely.

Tipping Point

Sharing his bed with Sonya, who announced that James expects them the next day in Vera Cruz, Mexico for another top-secret mission, Michael is able to copy her cellphone data. Andrew Strong's CIA analysis backup having deduced a wealth of information, including his whereabouts the next day, he insists to attempt killing James. Michael's cover is intact, so he must continue to appear defending James, while Fiona guards Charlie and Madeline against his goons. Michael's conscience forbids him to allow Strong's evil mercenaries leader Simon Escher to wade trough often innocent victims' blood, so he ends up killing the mad murderer. Arriving at his Mexican estate, James concludes that Sonya must have betrayed him, but Michael can't stand her being executed for his 'treason'.

Sea Change

To Michael's astonished relief, after his incarceration as traitor, James claims to accept his explanation and offer to be handed over to the CIA, while Mike and Sonya are to take over his organization. handler Strong is ecstatic, the CIA director can barely be convinced to go trough at all. Seeing that Mike keeps them out of the loop, Sam, Jesse and Fiona fear hat he has switched sides and must be stopped for an intervention. While Fiona makes Madleine literally burn the Weston home to flee with Charlie, Sam and Jesse trick Mike to a meeting, but he sees trough the ploy and escapes, only to find Fiona on the exchange helicopter roof just when James arrives.

Reckoning

Forced to choose between Fiona and Sonya, Michael shoots his new partner. Seeing that while approaching, James orders his helicopter away from his surrender to the CIA and swears bitter revenge on the ultimate traitor he wanted as joint successor. Supervisor Andrew Strong fears for his career and calls off all deals with Mike's team, promising a worse fate the the burn list. The only way out is to deliver James and his organization another way, so Sam comes up with forcing communication specialist Max Lyster to steal Kendrick's HQ backup hard-drives. Jesse is dispatched to protect Madeline and Charlie from James's revenge by goons, which requires an ultimate sacrifice. Michael gets a fake funeral to start a secret new family life overseas.
