Episode 1

The Mustangers

Bronco is a new cowhand working for Abner Shelton loading cattle cars. During a rest break the foreman, Walt Campbell, tells Bronco Shelton likes to meet all his workers. He suggests Bronco go ever and introduce himself to Shelton and his very beautiful daughter. Bronco walks over and introduces himself but is taken aback when Shelton says the young woman is his wife. Bronco realizing he has been tricked, has a short but meaningful talk with Campbell. Shelton's wife Laurel walks over to flirt with Bronco who tries to be nice but distant. On the train during a rain storm Shelton is drinking. After Bronco enters the caboose for a rest, Shelton decides to walk the catwalk over the cars. He comes back complaining Bronco let a cow die wanting Bronco to pay for it. When Bronco refuses, a scuffle ensues that ends during a train lurch with Bronco on the floor and Shelton falling off the train as fellow cattle owner George Gunlock watches. Shelton's death is presumed an accidental death but when Bronco's old partner Jimmy Smith arrives events turn bad for Bronco including a murder charge.

Apache Treasure

Army civilian scout Bronco finds the bodies of two Apache men and one woman dead and scalped. One of them is the brother of the Apache chief Victorio. He rides to the Army fort where he reports to Maj. Donald Keever. Keever calls for Lieutenant Finley and Sergeant Cass. After Bronco describes what he found, Keever tells them they are only the latest Apache bodies found with several more before that. He fears there is an Apache scalp hunter getting paid bounty for the scalps. Bronco noted there were two horses and a pack mule involved. Keever wants Bronco and the two Army men to go to Victorio's camp to ask Victorio to come to the fort for a parley about the incidents. Cass is an old timer in the area but Finley is a rookie from the east with no love for the Apaches. Outside Bronco spots prospector Hickins and his Sioux outcast partner Gokli who have two horses and a pack mule. They are searched but no scalps are found. After leaving the fort, Bronco and the two soldiers find themselves captives of Hickins and Gokli who have a plan for them.

Seminole War Pipe

Bronco rides over a small hill to see his Seminole friends, Princess Natula and John Jumper, surrounded by a group of men in front of the barn with a noose around the neck of Jumper. He fires a shot, rides in, and stops the lynching. There are ashes smoldering from the house that has been burned. The men tell Bronco they will not put with having Indians living among them. Bronco grabs the leader of the group promising to kill him and others if they attack. He asks how many of them fought for the CSA which is almost everyone. He tells them that Natula is a Seminole Princess. He proceeds telling them the story of her and her husband John during the war. General Blunt of the Federal Army had offered her and the Yale educated Creek Greywolf a promise to reunite their people in Florida. They were to trick the CSA into helping them reach Florida where they can present their offers to their people but Natula had a change of heart. Bronco was their guide who Greywolf planned to kill.

Ordeal at Dead Tree

Bronco rides into town on a lame horse when a pretty but rural looking girl, Lucy Follett, calls out to him about his horse. Bronco informs her the horse threw a shoe after which she recommends a stable. She is obviously out to drum up business for the stable. She tries to recommend a boarding house but Bronco tells her he plans to stay in the Stockman's Hotel. She tells him where it is while asking him to mention her name to them. Her sales pitches include a place to eat and coming to his room to see if he needs laundry done. Later, as he walks down the street he passes three men before entering the stable where he spots four horses saddled with fancy outlaw rigging. Just then a fourth man knocks him out as the other three rob the bank killing a man there. At the stable they put a bandanna over Bronco's face and give him the gun used in the killing and then ride out. Deputy Roy Anders arrests Bronco against the protests of Lucy. A witness can clear Bronco but a lynch mob has Lucy trying to help Bronco escape.

The Invaders

Bronco rides into the town Peaceful to see his friend Marshal Steve Durrock who he knew from the Army and his now grown daughter Molly. As he arrives Durrock is discussing the security for a gold shipment coming into town with bank President, Harry Dawson. After Dawson leaves, Molly enters who Bronco barely recognizes as she has grown up but he has a gift for her. The city drunk Forty Rod enters looking for Molly as a girl at the Golden Chance saloon needs her. When she enters the girls room, she finds herself in the hands of outlaw Mace Tilsey and his men. Tilsey kidnaps Molly threatening to kill her unless he and his gang are allowed free reign of the town until the gold shipment they plan to steal arrives. The Marshal and the town have no choice but to step aside. However, when Bronco tries to stop a drunk member of the gang from molesting Lucille Masters, the owner of the Golden Chance, Tilsey decides to put Bronco in charge as Marshal. Bronco hopes to find the girl before the outlaws decide she is no longer needed.

The Buckbrier Trail

Bronco arrives in a town but finds everyone at the hotel already knows who he is and why he is there. Bronco is hired by Marshal Pete Kilgore to escort killer Walter Rurick to trial at Santa Fe, as the marshal rides with a decoy on the stage. Rurick killed the stage driver, shotgun, and a lone female passenger plus he stole $100,000 in gold which has not been found. Since everyone is aware of Bronco, they decide he should leave immediately. Kilgore provides Bronco with directions and sealed instructions to open only in case of trouble. During a rest stop the next morning, bronco accidentally drops the sealed envelope. On the way, Bronco and Rurick are stopped by the family of the woman Rurick killed, but an Army troop stops them from taking justice into their own hands. They say they are there to escort Rurick but Bronco decides he should stay with Rurick all the way to Santa Fe. However, Bronco soon learns things are not at all as they seem to be when the troop stops short of a water hole.

Yankee Tornado

Bronco and a stranger who appears to be an eastern dude both think they have shot the same bear. They decide to fight over who gets to keep the bear. However, Bronco soon finds the man may be a dude but he can fight. As the two tangle another group of men ride up including Shanghai Williams who works along side Bronco. The stranger appears to win but Shanghai decides his men need the meat so they take the bear. Bronco tells the stranger he is working for a cattleman supplying food for railroad workers. After introductions, he learns he tangled with Teddy Roosevelt. Roosevelt watching the activity in the area becomes concerned over the excess killing of game. When Bronco learns that the railroad has employed far less men than needed for the number of buffalo killed, he comes to believe that Roosevelt is right, and that his employer, and the man he in turn is actually working for, may have ulterior motives for the excess slaughter.

Manitoba Manhunt

As two men ride through rough country on the way to Bismarck, North Dakota they are ambushed and killed. They are Deputy U.S. Marshals from Austin, Texas sent to extradite a bank robber from Canada. The killers are after the same man but upon reading the dead men's papers they realize someone must report to Bismarck. They decide to take the place of the two deputies by stealing their papers and badges. Bronco reports to U.S. Marshal Shelby in Bismarck. Shelby explains the other two deputies need Bronco's help to return a bank robber who is in Canada for stealing $50,000. The man was Bronco's commanding officer, Dana Powell, during the war and Bronco is the only one of the deputies who can identify him. In Canada they report to the Royal Canadian Mounted Police where they join forces with Corporal Sandy Scott to find Powell. Bronco and Scott sense that something is off with the other two deputies as they hunt for Powell and Bronco decides whether to return with Powell.

Stage to the Sky

Bronco rides upon a mob preparing to lynch a man who happens to be a minister. Bronco shoots the rope to stop it and then recognizes the man as Billy Rawlins who is an old friend. The man leading the mob, Nelson, tells Bronco that he is a gunfighter and outlaw while an elderly mans says he stole $5,000 raised for a new church. As the mob leaves Billy recalls that Bronco once outdrew Billy wounding and leading him to a new life. He asks Bronco to go home with him to meet his wife but not to tell her about the near lynching. At the same time Billy's brother Johnny along with his partner Riley pay a visit to his wife, Molly. Molly went with Johnny before marrying Billy so she told Johnny about the $5,000 to stop him from telling Billy about her past. Billy's brother Johnny, who has not reformed at all, hopes to get Billy to renounce the pulpit and join his outlaw life again. Bronco upon seeing Molly realizes there are problems as he knows her history. In town Nelson wants Billy gone to eliminate the influence on his businesses.

Guns of the Lawless

Bronco receives a letter from his friend Gilbert Groves at the Rocking Chair Ranch saying he needs help. As he approaches the ranch he runs into two old hands with a gunman watching them stringing wire across a pass he remembers as open land. At the Rocking Chair Ranch entrance he sees the name of Petrie Munger crossed out. Groves had owned and run the ranch while Munger oversaw the livestock. At the ranch house first Joe Spain, the foreman, and then Gilbert Groves greet him. Bronco reports what he saw on the way in. Groves says things have changed since he wrote Bronco. Groves agreed to give Munger half the cattle anytime he wanted them for his work on the ranch. Munger has taken his 5000 head but now wants half of the ranch which the law has said he is not entitled to. Bronco and Spain take a ride to Munger's place to discuss the fencing. They are told that two gunmen Munger hired, Judd Gander and Tony Gomez, have filed on the open land in the pass that prevents Groves from moving his herd. After a fight Gander, without Munger's okay, decides to eliminate Bronco and Spain by leaving them to die in the desert.
