Wali Shah (he/him) is a proud Muslim poet and immigrant from Pakistan. He was on top of the world performing for Barack Obama and freestyling with Kendrick Lamar before the COVID-19 pandemic. Now at home, Wali connects with his Muslim identity and faith despite facing Islamophobia. This recommitment informs his art and his new mission to not only take care of his mental health but his community as well.
Episode 2
Emily Zhu (she/her/elle) has a strong bond with her mother. But, there are topics that are difficult for them to talk about like discrimination and mental health. She says their conflicting opinions are rooted in their cultural differences. For her mother's birthday, Emily finally speaks up to ask her mother what she really thinks about mental health.

Tyler J Sloane (they/them) is a Chinese Anishnaabe multi-disciplinary artist from a small town in Alberta. Growing up Ty experienced discrimination and racism. They discovered burlesque as a form of expression and created their alter ego, Tygr Willy. Through the power of community and performance , Ty balances these identities in a world that pushes labels.

Brittany Nguyen (she/her) is a Vietnamese filmmaker from Kitchener-Waterloo, Ontario. Brittany's mother was her connection to her Vietnamese roots and to her extended family. After losing her mother to cancer before graduating high school, that was severed . Now, as she tries to make a reconnection, she reflects on what it really means to be "authentically" Asian.
