In the aftermath, Denise begins to wonder if being known as the proverbial party pooper is indeed who she is in her classmates not even bothering to ask her to an outing in already knowing that her answer would be no, and if she wants that to be her experience at Breaker High. While the others were at the belly dancing class, Sean was with Ashley as her "negotiator" in purchasing an authentic Turkish rug. While shopping is what Ashley does, she is used to paying full price in using daddy's money, Sean determined with this purchase to get her the best price. In this process, Sean may have met his shyster match, that is unless they can capitalize on Jimmy's new Turkish "budala" fame.

Out with the Old, in with the Shrew

Tony and Captain Ballard are having issues, namely that Tony, as activities director, is not coming up with activities in which the students are partaking, leaving them to lounge around the deck. For the third time in a month, Tony quits in protest, but this time he seems to mean it. As such, Captain Ballard hires a new activities director, Miss Pesler, who, in her outwardly sunny demeanor, the kids believes they can push over even more than they did with Tony. However, she is wolf in sheep's clothing in being a former military boot camp sergeant, she treating the kids like soldiers who in turn have to obey her orders or face her wrath. As Tony lets the kids know he wants his job back, they have to find a way to get rid of her, which, because she has a contract, means getting her to quit, something easier said than done. Meanwhile, Sean and Miss Mitchell find a common interest. Seeing them together, some students believe something is going on between them, a rumor of such which quickly spreads and which Sean, upon learning about it, does not dispel in his reputation of not having a way with the opposite sex. Miss Mitchell, too, has to figure out how to deal with the issue.

Tamira Is Another Day

Tamira is still pining after Max, even though her best friend on the ship, Cassidy, and Max have become somewhat of an item. Tamira's latest move to get close to Max in romantic Paris backfires which leads to Tamira making an admission to Cassidy of her attraction to Max. Both Cassidy and Tamira will have to decide what to do about her own individual feelings for Max in light of her friend's. At a Paris park, Sean meets a beggar, who he learns is one of his favorite jazz musicians, saxophonist Porterhouse Willie. In being a fan, Sean ends up purchasing some of Willie's old albums, which will provide down-and-out Willie with some pocket money. But in Sean being Sean, he ends up deciding to resell them to make a profit in learning that they are collector's items in being first prints. He will learn that he has another option to help Willie more fully if he so chooses. And Nigel wants to right what he believes was a wrong from twenty years ago when he was stripped of his Cordon Rouge ribbon when he had an altercation with his instructor, Chef Lafleur, with his end goal to be a chef in Paris in feeling unappreciated as a chef by the students. At Cordon Rouge, Nigel finds that Chef Lafleur will let bygones be bygones, with Nigel able to get his ribbon back if he is able to teach each of the day's class of students, uncouth tourists, how to cook. What makes Nigel's goal more difficult is that his class ends up being comprised of Jimmy, Denise, Alex and Ashley.

Sean has been able to get his hands on some authentic Chicago pepperoni, gold for his ultimate delight: Chicago deep dish pizza. With Jimmy his second-in-command who is as excited about the possibility of pizza in it being food, Sean has to convince Nigel to let him use the kitchen. Despite Sean having some dirt on Nigel, Nigel won't give up his kitchen key to Sean without something in return. Thus begins a series of negotiations between Sean and others on board which factor into the two love triangles, Tamira-Max-Cassidy and Alex-Ashley-Tyler, Max's confiscated boombox, Alex's lucky pair of sweatpants which need mending, and an extremely seasick Denise.

As the ship prepares to dock in Rome, the flu is spreading through the ship, leaving some confined on board. Among those are Max and Alex, who have to forgo going to the Eurocup soccer game. Sean and Jimmy will do whatever they can to get Max and Alex to give them their tickets, which is not as easy as Sean and Jimmy would like. Their negotiation changes through the course of Max and Alex's illness. While Cassidy, Denise and Tamira are volunteering at an orphanage, Ashley plans on going shopping to update her wardrobe. Ashley changes her mind and joins the other three when she learns that notoriously publicity shy Prince Stephan of Spellsbourg, who has had no photographs taken of himself since he was age six and who will be ascending to the throne in six months, will be at the orphanage in he having funded its recent expansion. Cassidy and Ashley end up spending extended time with two royals. Cassidy makes a connection with Prince Stephan himself, who is lamenting lack of time for himself in needing to attend to his royal duties, which will only increase when he ascends to the throne. And Ashley makes a connection with who she believes is Prince Stephan, but who is really one of the Prince's servants, Philippe, who has to hide the truth of his identity from Ashley.

Two Seans Don't Make a Right

After Cassidy takes credit for setting up two of their classmates that Ashley feels were destined for each other regardless of Cassidy's actions, Ashley, to prove that she is the true matchmaker, states that she can set up two random people, the two chosen being Captain Ballard and Miss Mitchell. Ashley's efforts seem to work, that match which has unintended consequences specifically for Max. Meanwhile, Sean and Jimmy are at each other's throats over roommate issues, Sean accusing Jimmy of being a slob, and Jimmy accusing Sean of being controlling. Intervening, Denise and Tamira decide Sean and Jimmy should try role reversal in acting like the other to understand the other better. But when Jimmy hits his head in a fall, he regains consciousness believing that he truly is Sean. While Sean first likes the new Jimmy in two Seans being better than one, he changes his mind when Jimmy as Sean ends up getting Nicolette, who Sean has been working on for two weeks to get to date him. Denise, Tamira and Sean thus go on another intervention to try and get the old Jimmy back.

Denise is hoping that Brendan Coyne, who she has only started crushing on of late, will ask her, he indeed planning on doing so in noticing Denise's seeming interest in him. In secretly overhearing only part of Denise speaking to Cassidy about it, Jimmy believes Denise is talking about Sean. As such, Sean, who never thought he had a chance with someone as smart as Denise, has a new what he believes is a justified bounce in his step as he prepares to ask her to the ball. And now that Ashley has broken up with Tyler, Alex isn't even contemplating asking anyone else to the ball in that he and Ashley, in his mind, are now official. Things could change as Ashley gets a surprise visit from Tyler himself.

As all the students believe that it could be no one other than Jimmy, Jimmy and Sean at his side go on a mission to find the real thief. What they discover could threaten their friendship. Meanwhile, both Ashley and Alex have moved on from their failed relationship by dating others. As their friends can see that they still are really pining for each other, Cassidy and Max by her side decide they have to do something to get the two of them back together.

Moon Over Tamira

Sean's issues with getting a date, beyond he being seen as a "lounge lizard", is that his nerves, when asking a girl, manifests in him hiccuping, such bodily noises and his efforts to suppress them in holding his breath not endearing to the opposite sex. Tamira too has an involuntary bodily function issue when she gets even close on to whomever she is crushing, the latest being Spencer, with her bodily function issue being hyperventilation. What neither notices is that they don't have such issues with each other in the comfort they have together. What some of their friends can see is that they are attracted to the other, if only they can see it themselves in their fixation on trying to attract others who are not well suited to them. Meanwhile, Max has been getting along better with his father to the point of they even doing fun things together. But when Alex makes some disparaging remarks about Captain Ballard in front of Max, who has made similar such remarks to Alex over the course of their friendship, Max has a different reaction than what he has had in the past, with some consequences in association to his relationships with his father, Alex and Cassidy.

En route to New York, Denise is determined to see a North Atlantic right whale, while Miss Mitchell assigns Cassidy, Max and Alex to do a joint class project on them. The problem is that Cassidy and Max haven't even spoken to each other since the hockey game in Prince Edward Island. The question becomes whether Cassidy and Max can bury the hatchet either to the point of at least being civil to each other or getting back together. In the process, Alex becomes the unwitting third. Another unwanted threesome is Sean, Tamira and Jimmy, at least on Sean and Tamira's side as they try to find some alone time away from Jimmy to have some romance, with Jimmy not able to take the hint. The question with this threesome is if Jimmy will get the message even if he's beaten over the head with it by Sean and/or Tamira.

Romance is swirling around the ship, including for Sean and Tamira, who are celebrating their five day anniversary, with Sean showering her with gifts in his belief he needs to do so to keep her as his girlfriend. But that romance does not include for Ashley, Alex, Cassidy and Max. Ashley can admit that she wants Alex back. Alex doesn't even want to think about getting back together with Ashley. Cassidy believes that getting back together with Max would only lead to her getting hurt again. And Max has reverted back into his brooding, loner self, quietly seething about what happened between him and Cassidy. But Ashley's anonymous action to get Alex back leads to a series of other actions which negatively affect not only Ashley and Alex, and Cassidy and Max's relationships, but also Sean and Tamira's. And surprisingly, Jimmy is the one many of them turn to as the guru of relationship advice.

New Kids on the Deck

The kids are excited to explore the city in being back on home soil as the ship is in New York Harbor preparing to dock. As Sean and Tamira plan their first day in port together, they can't help but reflect on their first day on the ship close to a year ago in Los Angeles with no one knowing anyone else on board, and the unlikelihood of not only of their, Cassidy and Max, and Ashley and Alex's girlfriend/boyfriend relationships - some which are on rough waters - but of the friendship between the six of them and Denise and Jimmy in the eight of them being very different people from very different backgrounds. They also reflect on how much they've changed but how much they've stayed the same. But the excitement of being in New York City changes when they are informed of a potential Hepatitis A exposure in the last port, which means being quarantined on board and getting the dreaded vaccination.

Six Degrees of Humiliation: Part 1

The kids are finally allowed to leave the ship to explore New York City. Denise is meeting with her parents, who, in a serious manner, she wants to show her entrance essay to display the appropriateness of life at Breaker High in the goal of attending Harvard. Much to her chagrin, her father finds one of her friends on board to be included at lunch, arguably the one Denise would least like to be there, the gluttonous doofus Jimmy. Her discomfort at lunch turns to horror when an unexpected fifth joins their lunch party, Morgan Harrison, an Associate Dean at Harvard, the mix of Jimmy and Dean Harrison, especially at lunch where eating is front and center, potentially kiboshing her chances of making it into Harvard. Meanwhile, Tony, Sean, Tamira and Ashley are spending the day together in Tony treating them to tickets to "CHiPs: The Musical" starring his idol, the original Ponch, Erik Estrada. In this outing, Sean wants to be Tamira's protector in she fearing the harm lurking around every street corner, and he showing how streetwise he is about life in any big American city. And Ashley has to make what she considers an emergency stop beforehand to go shopping. These items in combination with priorities of their cabby Travis lead to a day none of them foresaw. And Max is still brooding over Alex and Cassidy's kiss, for which they've both apologized to Max in they admitting that it was a mistake. While Cassidy wants to get back together with Max, both of them may only be able to deal with so much before they decide on another path for their immediate future.

Don't Go Breakin' My Art

In Max having run away while the ship is docked in New York City, Captain Ballard believes he did something wrong to place a further barrier between him and his son, while Alex and Cassidy knows the real reason. While Captain Ballard has contacted the police, Alex and Cassidy decide to try and find him themselves, although there is no guarantee they can convince him to return even if they do locate him. Max, on the other hand, finds that his path back to Portland with its uncertain life isn't as easy or smooth as he would like. Meanwhile, Tony learns through his flight attendant alumni magazine that one of his former colleagues now owns a hip Soho art gallery which is displaying the works of famed modern artist Julian Basquan. Tamira convinces Sean to go with her despite he secretly hating modern art. Jimmy goes just because he learns there will be food, his interaction with which leads to unintended consequences for Ashley, who has Daddy's credit card in hand to purchase any Basquan piece for his own new gallery in Atlanta. And Tony finds that snobbishly hip "foreign" gallery owner Serge, the former plain ol' American Steven Sergeman, wants nothing to do with his former flight attendant life hence nothing to do with Tony.

Worth Their Waste in Gold

In Miami, Cassidy is spotted by a director, who is looking for a fresh face for an upcoming commercial he will be shooting. Ashley is green with envy in believing that she would have been spotted instead of Cassidy if she was present. As such, Ashley does whatever she can to make Cassidy look not worthy of the job, while Cassidy does whatever to ensure Ashley doesn't rain on her parade. Meanwhile, four of the students are at McLuhan Marsh in the Everglades, Denise and Tamira who are looking for a bird species unique to the region, and Sean and Jimmy who are looking for buried pirate treasure. Sean and Jimmy believe they've hit pay dirt when they discover a buried container marked "gold". Denise and Tamira are not as lucky as they learn that the birds have all but disappeared due to industrial waste dumping in the marsh, which is what Sean and Jimmy have actually discovered. While Denise wants to expose the issue to restore the marsh to its pristine nature, she learns that it is not a story until they find more than one barrel, many reasons which could explain how that one barrel made it to the marsh.

The Deck's Files

As the ship approaches Bermuda, Sean uses the megaphone of Breaker High Radio to convince anyone who will listen that the mysterious activities within the Bermuda Triangle are real. He is most convinced that the disappearance of a ship seventy-five years ago was an alien abduction, and that they are coming back as the ship passes through the triangle. As the believers aboard the ship numbers one besides himself, that one not even best friend Jimmy, Sean dares anyone to stand watch with him this evening to protect themselves and the ship, the taker being the biggest skeptic Denise if only to prove him wrong. Captain Ballard factors into the mysterious alien happenings during their watch. Meanwhile, Ashley, not a natural writer, is having problems writing a poem for Mr. Hunter's English class, she believing her future at stake if she fails English. Conversely, Tamira has a binder full of poems that she's written for herself in not having the nerve to present her material in any sort of public forum. Ashley believes the path of least resistance is to steal one of Tamira's poems. What Ashley doesn't account for is Mr. Hunter singling her out to read her insightful poem at a poetry reading. Ashley has to decide what to do especially as Tamira recognizes the poem as one of hers.

Rasta La Vista

Jimmy has gone on a crash fruit only diet to lose weight in preparation for arriving in Jamaica and to everyone's horror to be able to wear a Speedo. His friends warn him about the dangers of such and the mood swings the lack of protein can cause. In reading about one of the local fruits he eats, Jimmy thinks he's eaten a Jamaican soapberry, toxic to humans. In he trying to get medical attention, his friends believe he's just delirious from his hunger. In his state believing he's only got a short time to live, Jimmy decides to make the most of his life. Meanwhile, Denise has resisted the "boy at every port" syndrome that a lot of her friends on board have subscribed. But she ends up falling under the spell of Jamaican reggae musician Hugo. The question then becomes what Denise will do when reality happens: that she will be leaving Jamaica probably never to see Hugo again.

Among those being hosted are Jimmy, who is in search of authentic burritos, he hoping to be taught the art of making such by Grandma Reyes, but his kitchen duties are not quite as he expects. Also included within those is Alex, who, having recently received a letter and care package, is homesick for his life back in Texas, especially as he is missing the Pineda family barbecue. While the Reyes family tries to make Alex feel at home, he decides he wants to go home for good. Ashley tries to use a little reverse psychology on Alex, which may backfire on her. Meanwhile, one student not planning on attending the fiesta is Max in the expectation Cassidy has of him to salsa dance with her. Disappointing Cassidy one time too many, Max decides to take salsa lessons from the on-board salsa dancing guru, self-taught Sean, the lessons which may be too emasculating an experience for Max.

As the ship approaches Panama, Denise gets Miss Mitchell's permission to do things to help victims of the recent tropical storm to hit Panama, including collecting donations of clothes and household goods, and organizing a fundraising party to be held on board for the affected Panamanian children and their families. Beyond Jimmy ending up being a clown not of the fun but scary variety, storms of another variety on board mar the party all stemming from Tamira earlier blurting out in front of Ashley, Cassidy and Denise that not only did she see Cassidy and Alex kiss, but that she and Max kissed, the best kiss she states she's ever had. While angry Alex, Ashley, Cassidy, and Max end up not talking or even dealing with each other, Sean, who learns of Tamira's kiss which she did not want to happen in not wanting to hurt him, is not angry like the others, but rather sad in Tamira being his first love. Sean and Tamira have to figure out how they will move on from the incident.

Things have the potential to change when, going out on a nature walk with Denise in the Costa Rican jungle, they meet Cambridge lepidopterist Yvette St. John-Smyth, there on a butterfly hunting expedition with the team led by Lord Pepperton. Jimmy being Jimmy potentially sabotages his romance with Yvette before it even begins.

Jimmy and Tamira are arguably the two most excited to be docking in Chile. For Jimmy, it's his belief that it is the home of chili. He may get a more profound perspective of the country in the process of learning that it's not. And for Tamira, it's because she knows it's the home of one of her favorite writers, Pablo Neruda, she thus treating it as a pilgrimage of sorts. But when she is picked up by a local also named Pablo in being a fan himself of Neruda, Tamira is swept off her feet while Sean is jealous despite he and Tamira having broken up. Sean may have good reason not to trust Tamira's new friend beyond the little green monster of jealousy. Meanwhile, Alex wants to test out his new fishing rod. At the local public market, he discovers that the set of fishing flies he wants to buy are out of his price range. Similarly, Ashley discovers that she can't buy the tiara case she sees at the same stall as all her credit cards are maxed out. Alex and Ashley end up doing whatever they can to earn enough money for Ashley to buy the flies for Alex and for Alex to buy the tiara case for Ashley, without telling the other their real purpose of wanting the money.

Brent and Kerry ditch their dates for each other, leaving Tamira and Sean together wallowing in their own grief.

As the ship docks in Venezula, someone who boards the ship is Alex's older brother Lyle who is visiting in playing in a soccer game in Caracas. While all of Alex's friends get along famously with Lyle, Alex is less than thrilled to spend time with his brother. While Alex doesn't divulge the reason for his feelings, Ashley, as Alex's girlfriend, takes it upon herself at least to get the brothers talking to each other in a more than just a civil manner. Meanwhile, Ed "The House" Hausman, so nicknamed in being "as big as...", is bullying all the nerds. In the House's bullying, Sean, in what he thinks is out of earshot, disparages him, which the House actually hears. As such, Sean becomes the latest target of physical violence from the House. Sean, fearing for his physical well being, has to figure out how to handle the House in light of the House's threats against him.
