Connective evidence links the 1975 kidnap/murder of a 17-year-old heiress to The Black Panther, a prolific burglar in Northern England whose crimes had recently escalated to the robbery/murders of three sub-post office workers. The Black Panther, born Donald Nappey, grew up a bullied child, leaving him fearless, daring and adventurous. His draft into the army was his true calling, where he enjoyed the disciplined life, giving and taking orders, and training for preparedness. Leaving to raise a family (thereby legally changing his problematic name to Donald Neilson for their sake) forced him into a life of crime when living an honest, hard-working life proved impossible. Always methodical, a chance encounter with two police officers, with an impromptu attempt to kill both, brought an end to his criminal career.
