Christmas Special

The three couples are at Calais returning from a Christmas market in Cologne but, thanks to Alan's incompetence, they miss the train. Carol goes missing after mixing drink and medication whilst Joyce has to rescue the passports. A temporary truce involves the menfolk bonding with their German counterparts before the boomers prepare to spend Christmas together - though not exactly as they had planned.

Camping

Somewhat reluctantly the other couples help Trevor celebrate his birthday at a rainy camp site where a charity cycle race and the efforts of the irritating Chris to persuade Trevor to buy his caravan cause discord among the menfolk. The wives however are charmed by handsome young Swede Hawkan, who has a penchant for older women - and, unfortunately an ulterior motive for befriending them.

Matt & Seb

Alan is unimpressed by new neighbours Matt and Seb, who use his skip without asking but is persuaded by Joyce to join her and their friends at the couple's house-warming party. Here Maureen is in her element and Carol and Trevor re-discover the joys of sex but Alan is convinced that the lads have stolen a family heirloom from the skip and his efforts to reclaim it lead to humiliation and an accusation of trying to steal Matt and Seb's dog.

Naming Ceremony

Joyce and Alan persuade their friends to accompany them to their granddaughter's naming ceremony though daughter-in-law Suze and her mother Sally are not appreciative of Joyce's gifts. Alan does not help by blowing the electrics whilst Trevor is perturbed to discover that Carol is writing an erotic novel and Sally's husband Vaughan makes John a tempting offer . Indeed misunderstandings abound before the final ceremony takes place.

Mick's Return

Alan's friend Mick turns up in his camper van, from Spain, having split with his wife and encourages Alan to pack in his hated job at the garden centre - as well as persuading John and Maureen to indulge in role play to spice up their marriage. Joyce asks him to leave - with surprising results - though ultimately it is Mick who helps everybody to put things right before he moves on.

Murder Mystery

For his birthday party John insists on a murder mystery theme with fancy dress, leading to Carol and Trevor turning up in ecclesiastical garb and Joyce and Alan as somewhat resentful servants. Maureen adopts an aristocratic persona but is interrupted by calls from the mysterious Diego, who turns out to be part of John's present though Trevor and Carol suspect otherwise. Alan must retrieve an incriminating gift and Trevor separate reality from role play before all is resolved.

Wedding

Maureen's mother Joan announces that she is marrying Roy, who is twenty years her junior, and invites the three couples to their wedding at n expensive hotel. Here they learn that Roy has been married four times before and they also suspect he is marrying Joan for her money and are surprised to learn that he is very wealthy. However come the morning of the wedding both Joan and Roy have admissions to make before the nuptials can go ahead.
