Episode 1
Mark Jacobs takes control of the station after Tom Croydon is suspended from duty pending a coroners inquest into the death of one of the Baxters - a murder he's suspected of committing. Meanwhile, Nick Schultz arrives back in Mount Thomas to help PJ with the murder investigation but it is Kelly who truly believes in Tom's innocence.

Episode 2
Tom is now the prime suspect for the murder of Ryan. Tom, PJ and Nick Schulz believe Helen Morris, the key witness, is lying and set out to uncover her motives for doing so. They discover that Ryan was the father of her expectant baby and Tarni found out about it. Lenny Dysart eventually admits to the Heelers that it was Tarni that killed Ryan and her idea to frame Tom Croydon. Kelly is then kidnapped by Tarni knowing that Tom will come to her rescue. Tom does and is more than a match for Tarni which leads to her arrest. Elsewhere, Amy, Danny and P.J. have to deal with a 14-year-old confession from a failed armed robber who just keeps going off subject.

Episode 3
Tom is back in charge of the Mt Thomas Police Station and is not happy with the new relaxed atmosphere fostered by Acting Sergeant Lindy Schroeder. When Tom discovers Lindy has given Jonesy time off behind his back, he ticks her off and she runs to Sgt Mark Jacobs, who remonstrates with Tom. The Boss tells Mark that he must take full responsibility for Lindy and all her future policing decisions. When Tom realises that her leniency towards two women accused of stealing their friend's new plasma TV has simply caused an escalation of the crime, and that she deliberately misled him, he insists that Mark get rid of her. PJ and Amy investigate a peculiar bank robbery, where the robber insisted on taking a very specific sum and Kelly and Joss reluctantly investigate the disappearance of a goat. The case seems to be solved when a goat is left in reception, but it turns out to be the wrong goat.

Episode 4
Amy is suspicious when a woman's baby is found dead in his crib, apparently the result of SIDS. It is the second child the again-pregnant woman has lost in suspicious circumstances and comes only a week after another SIDS death in town - and the details are identical. Could this be a copycat case? Jonesy and Susie head off to make a simple arrest for a drive-off (driving away without paying for petrol) but find themselves cuffed together and held hostage in an onion packing shed by the offender's over-protective mother. New Senior Constable Alex Kirby arrives to save them, but the rescue doesn't go quite as planned. Chris has a problem guest, an old lady who has checked in, paid by cash, but now won't leave her room - and owes money. She refuses to give her identity, and Kelly is set the task of finding out who she is and where she came from. Joss has moved out of home to share with a couple of blokes, and his care packages from his mum are now coming to the station - much to Kelly's derisive amusement.

Episode 5
PJ and Amy are called to a vicious home invasion at a mansion on the outskirts of Mt Thomas where a teenage boy has been cut with a knife in an effort to force his mother to open the safe. When they meet the father, Danny O'Keefe, both Tom and PJ recognise him as a likely gangster, and immediately assume his associates were responsible. At first PJ suspects another flashy "businessman" staying at the Imperial, but then evidence leads them to someone else. Tom's jaundiced view of Danny O'Keefe is confirmed when this suspect is found bashed and the flashy businessman is found murdered in Melbourne. Jonesy and Susie follow up on cars being stolen from the railway commuter car park and find themselves in a police pursuit with a young teenager who jams on the brakes right in front of them, causing a collision in which their airbags inflate. Later Jonesy finds himself chasing the same kid, and is blamed when the chase turns fatal. Alex and Susie work together to exonerate their mate by finding out what really happened.

Episode 6
Kelly and Joss are trying to resurrect the Blue Light basketball team, but unexpectedly they find a kid selling heroin. Tom is convinced Danny O'Keefe is somehow behind it, but his efforts to bring him to justice are frustrated. Meanwhile, the basketball has somehow turned to soccer and Joss invites his soccer-star brother, Tony, to run a coaching clinic. When Tony bets Joss that he can seduce Kelly, Joss finds himself in a dilemma; he realises Kelly is genuinely attracted and is not sure if his loyalty should be to his brother or his colleague. Susie and Alex follow up a frantic mother's report that her twelve-year-old daughter has been abducted. Susie is initially dismissive and suspects the girl has run away, but the mother shows them questionable email correspondence on the girl's computer from someone calling themselves Spunk Bubble and her best friend reports they were followed home from school by a suspicious man.

Episode 7
Alex, Amy and Susie suspect that Meagan Dwyer a history teacher, who has just given birth to a coloured baby is sleeping with her 14-year-old student Luke Parnell after her irate husband Craig disowns the baby. Meanwhile, Kelly and Joss bring back a Russian drunk to a home of a Russian woman against her wishes - a move they live to regret when they find out the woman didn't know the man. Elsewhere, Alex and Susie sleep together but Alex backs off from her the next day.

Episode 8
Jonesy and Susie are questioning a shoplifting suspect in the Mini Mall when her five-year-old daughter runs off. Jonesy is searching for her when he discovers that at the same time a young sex offender on day release has also gone missing. Has he abducted the child, and if so, where have they gone? While door-knocking at the Mini Mall, Kelly and Joss are called to another crime in a hardware store. A young female shop assistant in a tight T-shirt with a provocative slogan on it is alleging a customer sexually assaulted her. Kelly is outraged on her behalf, and is determined to get to the bottom of the matter. When the day release absconder is accused of murder, Homicide Detective Garth Henderson arrives in town to investigate and solve the crime. This is difficult for Amy, who has had a previous relationship with Garth that clearly ended badly. Before he can leave, another body is discovered near Govett's Leap (Mt Thomas' Lovers' Lane). The body is that of a young woman with vicious stab wounds to the neck and chest.

Episode 9

Whilst investigating the brutal murder of a young woman PJ, Amy and Garth learn that a second body has been discovered, killed in a similar style. Is a serial killer is at work in Mt Thomas? Meanwhile, Susie gets her promotion to Senior Constable but Jonesy doesn't get his and is somewhat annoyed and ends up blaming Tom from withholding his promotion - but does Alex know more that he is letting on!

Episode 10
The team, with the aid of Garth Henderson, redouble their efforts to find the Mount Thomas serial killer and find a link between two of the victims and a clinic ran by psychologist Bill Lapscott for sexual abuse victims. Amy enters the clinic as a victim to infiltrate the group and grows closer to Bill who Garth suspects is the killer. But is it someone else they have not considered? Elsewhere, Kelly and Joss look into a suspicious robbery and begin to suspect the daughter - Jorja Murphy - was behind it.

Episode 11
With the Mount Thomas serial killer still at large, the team start to look at whether there is now a copycat killer on the loose too. After PJ witnesses Garth losing his temper with Bill Lapscott he does some digging and finds that Garth was the victim of sexual abuse and arrests him on suspicion of murder but Amy is not convinced. After Amy collects food for herself and PJ she is attacked by an unseen assailant. Meanwhile Susie and Jonesy follow up on a report of a baby left in a car, only to find the baby has been kidnapped by the baby's deaf father and he won't tell them where the baby is. Elsewhere, Kelly is outraged when she thinks Joss is stealing chocolate bars from the charity box Mark has set up in the office. But when Joss sets her up she declares war between them.

Episode 12
The Mount Thomas serial killer saga continues as Amy regains consciousness and sees Garth leaning over her and assumes he is the killer. Garth denies it and states that he saw someone attack Amy before he got to her. But later at the hospital she recalls that she smelt a distinctive smell which sets the team on a different but narrow lead - The Prior family. Then Amy is kidnapped by the killer and the team search frantically for her whilst desperately trying to get answers from the Priors. Amy talks to her captor Steven about his abuse and after wards he knocks her out. The team discover Amy and they go to the Prior house where Steven kills his father for the abuse he suffered. Later Amy tells Garth that she doesn't want to see him again as he didn't support her when she needed him years ago.

Episode 13
Depressed Bernie Gardner is found dead by suicide in his garden shed after a confrontation with local doctor Dr. Barbara Hunter. Soon after a bomb in found at the hospital and Susie goes to bat to save Bernie's reputation and as she unravels the case, she discovers that Dr. Hunter had more than one person with a grudge against her. When there is a further bomb threat against the hospital, the Heelers can only avert catastrophe by discovering the true identity of the bomber. Joss believes he has a hot suspect in the hospital bombing case, but when he goes off on his own unauthorized investigation, Kelly suffers the consequences after a paint bomb explodes in her face. Meanwhile, encouraged by Alex, Jonesy finally plucks up the courage to ask Susie out but gets disappointed by her response.

Episode 14

Joss is caught in the middle when an armed standoff develops during a game of football. Meanwhile, Susie saves the life of elderly accident victim Molly Sutcliff only to be accused by her daughter Ailsa of stealing her valuable rings. Mark fails to insist that Susie have a full body search which leads Tom to take the opportunity to blast Mark for it, thus escalating their ongoing feud. Fortunately for Susie, Alex makes it his mission to prove her innocence.

Episode 15
The Heelers' search for Danny O'Keefe's kidnapped son is complicated by the uncooperative father who is being blackmailed to come good on a murder-for-hire. Jonesy quickly sees through a pregnant woman's assault claim and forcefully brings her alcoholic boyfriend to justice. His heavy-handed approach earns him an unsanctioned undercover assignment from Tom but the operation goes horribly wrong when O'Keefe goes through with the hit before Jonesy's eyes.

Episode 16
There's valuable farming items that have been stolen and Joss has to deal with a noisy neighbour and her landlady who is a practising witch, who Joss crosses and gets some bad luck. Inspector Falcon-Price is now gunning for Tom Croydon in earnest and has the support of Sgt Jacobs. Whilst Evan is being questioned over the O'Keefe incident.

Episode 17
Amy tries to help a girl she believes is being abused, but it's an uphill struggle all the way and Amy also gets to meet her niece. Tom has family visiting him after a long time and a grandchild he has never met, who has now gone missing, when the car she was in is stolen.

Episode 18
Supported by PJ, Amy is determined to pursue her uncle John who abused her as a child. But face-to-face, he seems not to be the monster Amy has described. A hypnotherapy session only serves to confirm Amy's confusion, but PJ believes there is injustice here, and is determined she press charges against her uncle, even if this causes Amy further pain. The final confrontation with the truth reveals the delusion wrought by time on the memory for both Amy and her uncle. Investigating burglaries from clients of a speed dating agency, Jonesy and Susie find themselves revealing what they are looking for in a partner to everyone but each other.

Episode 19
Tom must finally face the tragic events of one year ago when Barry Baxter escapes from jail during his trial. Baxter's reign of terror continues as he returns to Mt Thomas and kidnaps Tom's grandchildren. A teenager's dare results in a fatal mauling at the Widgeree WIldlife Park and the escaped lion causes havoc in the region. Jonsey finally proposes to Susie but how will he react when he learns the truth?

Episode 20
Having kidnapped Tom's grandchildren, Barry Baxter taunts him with a series of video emails depicting the children being buried alive in a large wooden box. After taking Joss hostage, Baxter sets up an armed siege at the Imperial Hotel, wanting to negotiate with Tom. With Danny Adcock as Barry Baxter; Neil Pigot as Insp. Falcon-Price, Kate Mulvany as Anna Allcott, Nicholas Fleming as Sam Allcott, Holly Pryor as Daisy Allcott, Jesse Spence as Lee Cruikshank, Ron Kamoen as Mal Croad.

Episode 21
With a spate of classic cars being stolen, Joss will find out what high maintenance one can be. Evan tries to help a brother and sister out when a dangerous sport of UHT surfing, which isn't illegal, but could leave the young man with serious injuries. Susie and Evan's relationship turns sour.
Episode 22
Joss and Kelly help Charlie after a shop is broken into, but he is not what he appears to be and they will run into him again. Evan and Alex are called to a noise nuisance party where drugs and Susie are both present, and things are going to go from bad to worse for Susie.
Episode 23
Joss and Kelly's birthday celebrations are soured when one of the guests, a lifelong friend of Kelly's, is found dead - the victim of an apparent drug overdose. The preliminary autopsy report reveals that she'd had sex a short time before her death, but Kelly staunchly maintains that her engaged friend was neither promiscuous nor a drug user. It's Joss' turn to be outraged when his good friend finds himself in the frame for drugging and raping the girl, then dumping the body. Joss initially defends his mate, only to find himself having to choose between loyalty to friend mate and loyalty to his duty. Meanwhile, Susie's new boyfriend, Jason Tyler, offers Joss a way out of his debt crisis. The only problem is that it may not be legal.
Episode 24
Three popular teenagers are killed in an horrific highway collision with a truck and there are conflicting stories about the final seconds before impact. The whole town wants to believe that the teenagers were murdered by a reckless truck driver, but Amy Fox has to deal with the fact that the truck driver is her cousin. Already guilty about the damage she has caused to Brendan's family by exposing his father as a paedophile, Amy struggles to deal fairly with Brendan's impassioned bid to clear his name. Susie continues her relationship with Jason Tyler, who is about to open a night club in Mt Thomas, and Jonesy tries to keep his feelings to himself, even though he is sure Jason is involved in drug sales. He quietly sets out to save Susie from Jason's deceit, but she rescues herself by making a heartbreaking decision.
Episode 25
A man turns up to see his ailing mother, but Kelly has a go at him first thing and Tom decides he needs to be run out of town. Alex however tries to help him. Sergeant Jacobs has to deal with a missing horse and his daughter being angry at him over a horse.

Episode 26
Mark feels guilty and depressed when the lost teenage girl he handed back to her family is found murdered just hours later. Amy's former lover, Garth, offers her a Melbourne job with his cold case squad. Amy keeps the news from PJ as the case turns stranger and more murder victims are found.

Episode 27
Detective Garth is back and the investigation into the girl's deaths leads to more bodies. Suspects the police interview, seem to be off in another world for one reason or another. The police think they have the upper hand and one officer will make a career move.

Episode 28
There appears to be a burglary at the pub. Amy insists on investigating and this will force Chris to be arrested as the girl she defended herself against is seriously injured in hospital. Alex is on the trail of the criminal who held a gun to his head and Chris will make a big decision.

Episode 29
Inspector Falcon-Price is called in to see about corruption in Mount Thomas. Alex is seeing conspiracy and someone out to get him at every turn, and does not know who to trust. The atmosphere at the station couldn't be any worse. The station try to help Chris as best they can after her recent ordeal.

Episode 30
Alex's belief that he is being victimised by his colleagues, and the media attention he is attracting, widens the trust gap felt by the police of Mt Thomas. Alex rejects offers of help and understanding from Jonesy, preferring to fight a losing battle against his idea of injustice. Joss is convinced he will be sacked for starting the whole thing, and drags his feet to avoid the inevitable confrontation with the boss. On what he believes will be his last day in the job, Joss has an armed confrontation with an escaped prisoner, partially redeeming himself, leaving Alex to determine his fate. Amy has serious doubts about accepting Jonesy as a working partner.
Episode 31
P.J. is selling his house, so Alex and Evan come up with a plan to get a loan to buy the place they are renting, but they get a new landlord instead. Amy and Evan have to deal with a suicidal woman but is she really trying to take her own life? Sergeant Jacobs tries to help a young boy from Widgeree, who is involved in a gang but has artistic potential. But when this conflicts with being there for his daughter, this will lead to tragic consequences.
Episode 32
Tom decides Widgeree is not above the law and gets Mark and Susie to reopen the station there. Amy and Evan are on the trail of a doctor with a large cannabis farm who says he has no idea where it came from. And for one police officer, they will come to a momentous decision.
Episode 33
Tom confronts his past when an old army mate confesses to a 35-year-old homicide. As the horrific nature of the crime is discovered, Tom begins to question the truth of his friend's confession. Amy challenges Tom over his involvement in the murder investigation and discovers he had a close personal involvement with the victim. Susie's first foray as Acting Sergeant isn't going well. Her newest charge, Constable Matt Graham, has arrived in Mt Thomas with a secretive nature and a cloud over his head. He clashes with Kelly over ethics as they investigate a father's claims that his under-age daughter is having sex with her boyfriend. On top of this, the boss is preoccupied and won't give her the time of day while Joss ignores her instructions to conduct a clandestine affair with the green-grocer's daughter. Susie finally manages to exert her authority but the powers that be have another rude shock in store.
Episode 34
There's a new constable for the station and a man who has won the lottery, who seems he wants his friends to kill him. Amy is determined to find out why and this leads to a counsellor, where the new constable will make his impression on all of them, that makes no sense. Kelly seems to make a new best friend.
Episode 35
On a Saturday morning, after the high school Formal, Amy and Jonesy investigate the death of a teenage girl, murdered, apparently by her friends. But the suspects seem to care more about the impression their versions of the events have on Amy and Jonesy than the fact that they have killed. Kelly has the flu, and shouldn't be working. As well as keeping watch on the teen murder suspects, she must endure the over-attentiveness of Estelle, the strange girl who has moved in next door.
Episode 36
Matt's ruthless approach to truth and justice seems so black and white to Alex that even the victims of crime must have judgement brought upon them. But Matt's way of dealing with a young man who has attacked his teacher shows he may be equally as capable of dealing with an emotionally driven criminal situation as Alex. Kelly tries to sever ties with her stalker, but finds the obsession is just beginning.
Episode 37
Matt's army service in East Timor complicates his dealings with a man who robs a video store. Amy follows up the latest sighting by a frantic mother still seeking the driver responsible for a fatal hit-and-run that killed her daughter. Kelly cannot ignore Estelle White, the young woman who is obsessed with her.
Episode 38
As Amy and Jonesy investigate a grisly murder, Matt forges ahead with his own line of inquiry. The growing suspicion surrounding the new constable appears justified when Matt's chief suspect is mysteriously murdered. Amy is faced with the prospect that one of the Heelers has crossed the line.
Episode 39
The video store has been burnt down, with its proprietor inside, and suspicion falls on Matt. Meanwhile, Alex continues his half-hearted performance as sergeant, and every decision he makes seems to go wrong. He continues his campaign for a skate bowl, and sends Joss and Kelly to pick up "Sponge" Bob, an old homeless man accused of leaving a café without paying. This leads them to the railway yards where Estelle had previously nearly blinded Kelly with acid, and she is so jittery she pulls her gun on Spongebob, and he lays a complaint against her.
Episode 40

Matt finds a seriously battered man, the former mayor of St Davids, in the boot of a stolen car after a high speed chase. Mt Thomas CI investigates, but with Jonesy away at detective's training school, Amy finds good help hard to find. She strongly disapproves of Matt's aggressive approach to questioning witnesses, but who can she turn to? Kelly is too messy, Susie too nice, and Joss - well - Amy uncovers the true motive for the assault when she learns about the victim's long and secret history of family violence while Matt, abandoned at the hospital, does some investigation of his own. When the truth is finally revealed Matt and Amy realise they have both come to the same conclusion. Meanwhile, Joss decides to prove he's worthy of Amy's respect. He relentlessly pursues a minor burglary, suspecting it as a front for a major crime.

Episode 41
43 mins
Evan's first day as a detective is eventful. He investigates a burglary and causes more damage than the burglar ever did. Amy has to deal with an assault whilst patients were anaesthetised. When evidence goes missing and the prime suspect seems to be toying with the police, things will go from bad to worse.

Episode 42
Amy initiates a deadly game of cat and mouse with the accused doctor. Despite Jonesy's warnings, she accepts a lunch invitation only to discover the he has a son with Downs Syndrome and doesn't appear to be quite the monster she had imagined. Amy traces the boy's mother and uncovers the doctor's first victim, but just as she is about to put the doctor away, he again turns the table on her. Meanwhile, a nine-year-old boy dressed as Darth Vader comes to Mt Thomas claiming to be on a mission - he wants to find his father who is a copper at Mt Thomas.
