When Scott makes a deal with The Devil in 1984, he has no idea what the repercussions will be in 2014 when he visits Vincent Van Dyke's VVD Effects and gets put into full demon makeup! Along the way he learns how Van Dyke got into the business of doing prosthetics for medical dramas, how to create makeup effects for the quick turnaround of a TV schedule, why Vincent chose to transform him into an "old demon," and more. Then Scott finds Angus Young's Gibson SG and everything comes full circle in this, the premiere episode of Scott Ian's Bloodworks.

Tue, Oct 14, 2014
Scott Ian meets Gabe Bartalos, whose effects bridge the gap between low-budget splatter, franchise monsters and the fine art world with his diverse resume and boundary-pushing work. Gabe and Scott cover everything from BRAIN DAMAGE to GREMLINS 2 to THE CREMASTER CYCLE and still have time for David Byrne, Tony Clifton, and Gabe's collection of life-casts, some of which are taken from real physical deformities. All that plus some super-cool gore effects as Scott laments not having his own cast-worthy abnormality and forgets to be careful around a swinging sledgehammer.
Episode 3

In a little less than a hundred years, stop motion animation went from the industry standard of visual effects to a niche art-form. Yet the current state of stop-motion is vibrant as Scott learns from effects master Phil Tippett and the team at Starburns Industries, as well as The Chiodo Bros, Michael Granberry and Bob Burns among others! From Willis O'Brian and Ray Harryhausen to Empire Strikes Back and Robocop to Tool videos and the Community Christmas special, Scott explores the world of stop motion and even gets animated himself... with bloody results.
