Episode 1

Aftermath

The Liberator is damaged in the battle against the alien invasion fleet of Andromeda and the crew abandons ship whilst the automatic on-board systems attempt to repair the ship. Avon finds himself on the tribal planet Sarren, where he is rescued by Dayna and her father, Federation fugitive Hal Mellanby, only to find Servalan, the newly installed president, has also arrived on Sarran.

Episode 2

Powerplay

Avon and Dayna return to the Liberator to find it has been taken over by a Federation death-squad led by Captain Del Tarrant. Vila's escape pod has crash-landed on a jungle planet where people are apparently hunted for sport. Cally was rescued by a hospital ship, which also picks up Servalan. But not all help might be as friendly as it appears to be.

Episode 3

Volcano

The Liberator is lured to Obsidian, a volcanic planet of strategic value, which is linked to rumours of Blake's whereabouts. Dayna has a potential ally among the pacifist population: its ruler, an old acquaintance of her father named Hower. Tarrant and Dayna teleport down in an attempt to enlist recruits to their rebellion, and establish a base from which to complete the destruction of the Federation and defeat Servalan. However, Servalan has enlisted a traitor.

Episode 4

Dawn of the Gods

The Liberator is drawn off course by an artificial black hole. Orac brings the ship too close in order to study the phenomenon, and, unable to break free, the Liberator is dragged through into an "impossible" starless black void... or is it? Orac's science is pitted against a legendary figure from Cally's childhood stories.

Episode 5

The Harvest of Kairos

Tarrant convinces the others to launch a raid on a Federation transport loading a cargo of valuable crystals from the planet Kairos, and Servalan recruits a retired officer who once served with Tarrant to stop him.

Episode 6

City at the Edge of the World

The Liberator crew makes a deal with a outlaw, known as Bayban the Berserker, in order to obtain crystals needed for the Liberator's weapons system. Bayban, in return, requires Vila's help to find a treasure on the distant planet Keezar; and Vila falls in love with Kerril, one of Bayban's gang members.

Episode 7

Children of Auron

Servalan has unleashed a plague on Cally's home planet Auron as a lure for the Liberator and its crew. It works, as Cally receives a telepathic message calling for help and she is compelled to go there. Servalan is also using Auron's advanced technology to create clones in her image; her children, as it were.

Episode 8

Rumours of Death

51 mins

Avon sets out on a personal vendetta to avenge the murder of his lover Anna Grant, killed by the Federation torturer Shrinker. But Avon was deceived, and learns that Anna is alive and she, along with a resistance group, have taken Servalan captive.

Episode 9

Sarcophagus

Avon, Cally and Vila investigate a derelict spacecraft. When they return to the Liberator, the spirit of a long dead alien woman comes back with them, causing power failures on the ship and creating illusions for the crew. Using Cally as a conduit, she requires the crew to transport her back to her home planet. The fight for control of the Liberator quickly becomes a battle of the mind.

Episode 10

Ultraworld

The Liberator detects a mysterious spiky metal globe floating in space. Avon deduces that it is an artificial planet, but can't raise any communication. Then Cally disappears - apparently abducted inside the "planet". As well as affecting minds, this "Ultraworld" turns out to be capable of stealing them - and using the zombified bodies of space travelers to trap others. But the crew must ultimately face the menace that rules from the center of the Ultraworld...

Episode 11

Moloch

Avon follows Servalan to the planet Sardos, home of a society that can create anything using special energy-mass transformers. Once there, they discover a group of Federation troops planning to build a battle fleet to take over the rest of the galaxy. All the conspirators need is the specifications of Servalan's cruiser and a suitable pilot.

Episode 12

Death-Watch

Tarrant's elder brother Deeta is competing in a gladiatorial ceremony, where combatants fight each other to the death in a duel to settle Interplanetary feuds. Servalan is acting as a neutral judge, but she is manipulating events to trigger a real war.

Episode 13

Terminal

After Avon receives mysterious instructions, he, for reasons he will not share with the others, is determined to follow them. They bring the Liberator to the artificial planet Terminal, passing through a cloud of fluid particles on the way. Avon goes down to the surface and finds Blake, connected to a life support system, and Servalan, who is holding him captive. While they negotiate the release of Blake in exchange for the Liberator, the fluid particles start eating away at the ship.
