Episode 1

After a run of short hauls, the once powerful Captain Flint faces mutiny by his own crew. John Silver joins Flint's pirate ship, hiding something of great value from his captain. On the island of New Providence, Eleanor Guthrie keeps order in the face of a resurgent Royal Navy.

Flint survived Singleton's bid for the captaincy but has a hard time convincing anyone of his plan to found a 'pirates island kingdom'. So when it becomes known he still hasn't secured the missing log page to find the galleon on which's gold treasure the whole plan depends, the hunt for it becomes deadly urgent. Silver overhears in the brothel having become the prime suspect but manages to escape and set a trap to sell it to Flint's great rival captain Charles Vane for a fortune in pearls. Those get lost in the nocturnal exchange plot, where Silver has to burn the log page to secure his survival as prize.

Silver avoids torture by joining Flint's crew for a regular share. As capturing the Spanish gold galleon requires a superior force, Flint must allow the quartermasters to broker a partnership with hungry captain Vane, who agrees for Eleanor's sake, and/or old captain Benjamin Hornigold, who needs a younger stand-in. Eleanor twists her wounded father's arm to put up the capital but compromises everything by seeking to revenge Max, her lover, by demanding Vane's crew elects another captain. Max, however, sides with the captain who gave her to his men.

Episode 4

As Gates is promoted Flint's second captain aboard Vane's ship, popular, dutiful Billy Bones takes his place as quartermaster. Silver not only proves himself a dangerously incompetent cook but also undermines flint's long-standing confidence in Billy, in whom a veteran confides his mistrust about Flint's secret agenda as lover of the haughty island widow Miranda Barlow. Desperate to provide the canons she Flint promised for the second ship, Eleanor compromises her family trade, so her father steps in deceptively cooperatively. Sailors' lazy and horny neglect of Billy and engineer De Groot's instructions about beached ship-care cost a limb and trouble about the whore, which ends up forcing Vance to pull himself together and fight back.

Episode 5

Flint and his crew of the Walrus play a deadly game of naval warfare when they engage Captain Bryson and the Andromache on the open sea to gain precious cargo. Richard forces his daughter's hand about his business when he makes an announcement to the locals.

Episode 6

Captain Flint finds smoking out the well-trenched British crew of the Andromache terribly hard, being barely able to force his pirates to seemingly insane risks. Time presses with another Brituish warship on the way to rescue their men, it all comes to depend on a coordinated revolt of the just discovered live cargo: slaves, including "Mr. Scott". Billy's warning to gates about Flint's common cause with Barlow is discarded by Gates, but Flint finds out and leaves Billy behind at sea, presumably drowning; half of the precious canons are lost. On the island, Eleanor makes her position even more hopeless by refusing to sacrifice her harlot protégé for a deal with the other captains. Silver tries to sell the treasure location again, but his client rather goes after the 'lost' pearls from the deal with Flint and turns on presumed thief Rackham.

Episode 7

Flint tells Gates the truth. Randall puts Silver in a bind. Eleanor suffers a loss. Max comes to Rackham's aid. Vane enters the fight of his life.

Episode 8

Silver's course clues actually lead to the Spanish gold galleon and its heavily armed escort's rendezvous island, but Gates tells Flint reckoning for his secret betrayals must follow the capture. Flint kills Gates, but Dufresne openly utters the accusations during the already dangerous cannon fight, which they thus is lost. The pirates are sunk and marooned, but a storm also wrecks the Spaniard. On Nassau, captain Vane and the wretched men he won from his former orphans 'foster father' in a deadly duel take the fort by surprise. Rather then risk a destructive battle, Eleanor agrees to ally herself with him, after having estranged several captain by intending to cut out her father completely.
