Episode 1
Do You Love an Apple

Jenny and Cassie decide to try to get to know Beau in he being their new work colleague. While he is open about certain things, he is less open about others. One issue which does eventually come to light is the strain he has with his daughter Emily in she comparing him generally unfavorably with her stepfather, with who she on is currently on a glamping vacation in the area. Cassie may have met Emily in having visited the glamping company owner/operators, wife and husband Sunny and Buck Barnes, in Cassie's latest case being a missing person in the form of Mark Woodman, who was in the area camping in the back country on his own. The other issue with which Cassie is dealing on a more personal nature is the want to buy the ranch property that was snatched from her and her father by the Bhullars, it which also brings up the issue of the transformation of Tonya to the criminal side of life. Meanwhile, Jenny and Beau literally stumble onto their next case in seeing a naked man running down the highway.

The Woods Are Lovely, Dark and Deep

Cassie follows up on a lead on missing hiker Mark Woodman, Beau accompanying her giving him an excuse to "spy" on Emily who is glamping at Sunny's camp with her stepfather, Avery. At the camp, Paige and Luke show in private that they are not who they appear on the surface, but circumstances may bring their secret life to the surface to some of the others at the camp. Jenny is determined to find something to put Tonya and Donno behind bars, but she and Beau have to do their duty first in Tonya requesting the assistance of law enforcement to get a squatter out of one of her properties. Who Jenny and Beau discover at the property is not quite who he appears at first glance as his presence brings into play a much bigger situation.

A Brief History of Crime

After having gone missing, Luke returns to Sunny Days without Paige, who he claims has left him to return home, evidence indicating that she has indeed left the camp for good. While Emily doesn't fully believe Luke's story, as well as having suspicions about her stepfather Avery, others at the camp may have more information about what actually happened to Paige while an angry Sunny wants Walter to tie up some loose ends. In investigating a report of a dead body on the Mooney property, Jenny and Beau find that the deceased is Gil Mooney, one of the Mooney brothers, Ivan Mooney, the other brother, stating that Gil died trying to save their farm. From his story, Jenny believes that someone from her past will reenter her life, that person who she does not trust no matter the situation. And Cassie and Denise follow up on another lead concerning missing hiker Mark Woodman, Denise who continues to believe his disappearance connected somehow to the twenty year cold case coined the Bloody Heart murder as that evidence takes them back to the abandoned trail where that murder occurred.

Jenny and Beau investigate the bloody murder of a woman in her own backyard that turns into quite the family affair. Back at the Sunny Day Excursions, Buck grows increasingly suspicious of Sunny while Avery and Emily continue to question the disappearance of the missing camper. Elsewhere, Cassie and Cormac discover something unimaginable out on the trail, and Tonya and Donno accept a deadly proposition.

Flesh and Blood

On a personal shopping trip, Beau witnesses a violent crime. Upon further investigation with Poppernak, he learns that that violent crime is probably the midpoint in a much bigger crime about to go down - only the latest in a series of similar crimes - with Poppernak's life on the line in this one. This case hits home for Jenny in a different vein. Beyond Emily's continued search for the truth about Paige, and Sunny's continued protection of Walter at all cost, life at Sunny Days gets more complicated with the late arrival of two sets of guests, the first being Carla, and the second being "married" couple Tonya and Donno. An injured Paige is sussing out if the man she is with is her savior or her captor out to do her harm. And Cassie has to deal with the aftermath of discovering Mark's dead body, Denise who has to try to hold her tongue in official discussions about her own theories of Mark's death being tied to the Bleeding Heart murders twenty years ago.

The Bag and the Box

Jenny and Beau investigate the death in what looks to be a home invasion gone wrong, the homeowner the victim, the only thing stolen being a 1979 black classic TransAm. When the vehicle is later found abandoned, they believe that the home invasion was the perpetrator looking for a specific TransAm, this one not being that one. In following the leads of all other similar vehicles in the state, Jenny and Beau come across a wide assortment of vehicle owners who all could be hiding something in each potentially being the perpetrator. Cassie follows up on the issue of the burning vehicle out in the woods, she knowing it her heart it having something to do with Mark Woodman's death. The vehicle brings her back to Sunny Days as the vehicle is registered to Buck who has some explaining to do. Luke believes the way to stay alive is to cooperate with Tonya and Donno, while Walter vows to keep Paige safe. The center of this issue is Paige's bag, the person who knows where it is who doesn't know what that person has in his/her possession.

Come Get Me

Because of an incident at the Dewell + Hoyt offices, Cassie, Denise, Jenny and Beau are forced officially to reopen the investigation of the Bleeding Heart case from twenty years ago, where teenager Blair Lucan was murdered, her heart cut out using a curved blade, with the original investigation perhaps connecting it to three other unsolved murders, and one of the two primary suspects at the time still alive. Cassie in particular has to see if there are any concrete indications of that murderer having killed hiker Mark Woodman. At Sunny Days, Sunny and Buck have to come up with a plan to deal with what happened to Mary, while both Carla and Emily are increasingly concerned by events at the glamping site. And feeling caught between a rock and a hard place in they not being able to produce either the money or a dead Paige, Tonya and Donno believe their best option is to renegotiate the terms of their job. As such, Luke sees a possible out from his predicament.

Duck Hunting

Emily's discovery of Mary's dead body brings Jenny, Beau and others from the sheriff's department to Sunny Days to investigate. They find that of the people who should be there, Luke and Cormac are absent, the former who many do not expect back to camp if he can help it, and the latter who most expect back in running an errand for the family. Tonya and Donno's presence as guests raises red flags for Jenny, while it is something that one of the guests willingly divulges in an official statement that raises eyebrows for both Jenny and Beau. In that questioning, some secrets come to light, while others try to evade telling the truth when questioned. And stemming from a conversation with Cassie, Cormac decides to do some investigating on his own.

Where There's Smoke There's Fire

Beau and Jenny have a mystery in the man from the woods (Walter) they have in custody, he not in the system at all and he divulging nothing about himself, including his name. Cassie wants to try the old "good cop/bad cop" routine to see if she can befriend him to open up to her. But it is an off the cuff comment from Emily, who is working at Dewell + Hoyt part-time in Beau having temporary custody while Carla and Avery work out their problems, that may provide some leads to who he is. While he doesn't appreciate the continued questioning by Cassie on the issue as they continue their courtship dance, Cormac is determined to discover the secrets his parents are keeping from him. Carla is unaware of just how deep Avery is in his dealings with the criminal side of the law, he working to decrypt Paige's computer to unlock the $15 million placing Carla and Emily at risk. Meanwhile, Beau and Jenny investigate the discovery of a dead body, that of show parachutist Brett Baker who died being caught in a tree in a jump gone awry. The nature of their investigation changes when an accidental death is ruled murder in the discovery of his parachute ropes being cut.

With they having found out Walter's given name, Beau, Jenny and Cassie then have to find out who's been assisting him all these years, they certain there no way he could have survived in the woods undetected without hands-on help. The key may be hidden among the keepsake documents Cassie found at Walter's cabin. Sunny acts as a negotiator between Paige on one side and Tonya and Donno on the other, she doing it all for Walter's sake. Avery takes extra precautions for Carla and Emily's safety in having decrypted Paige's computer. And with Beau having to look after Carla and Emily, Jenny takes the lead when Pops is the first responder in being a guest when a murdered dead body is discovered at a wedding just before the ceremony is to take place. Bad blood between the two disparate families may be the cause of the murder, or it may be some bigger secrets kept by members of the wedding party including the bride and groom.

Jenny's antagonistic encounter with an unexpected Gigi changes when Gigi's expressed fear of being in danger is realized in she being abducted, Jenny assuming due to whatever she did with the stolen $30,000. Despite their estrangement, Jenny feels compelled to save her mother from whoever may have taken her. Jenny's first step is to figure out who "they" are, she knowing they associated to some other known criminal elements in town. Beau and Avery have a stand off of sorts as both do whatever they believe best to protect family, the question being if either measures taken are truly enough as several parties are after the $15 million and will use Carla and Emily if it gets to that end goal of the money. As such, Sunny knows she has to work with Tanya and Donno to locate Paige, they unaware that it is Buck who has her captive in his goal to keep all the secrets in his and Sunny's lives remain hidden.

Are You Mad?

The discovery of a still alive Paige and her account pointing to Buck potentially being the Bleeding Heart Killer brings two members of the Barnes family into a new light: Sunny and exactly what she knows or how she may have participated in Buck's criminal activities, and Walter who is currently behind bars having falsely admitted to killing Paige. With these developments, Sunny grasps at straws to maintain some semblance of family which she's worked so hard to achieve all these years. With Paige's incomplete account, Jenny, Beau and Cassie are on a hunt for Buck, dead or alive, and the location of his bunker somewhere among the vast woodland. With the $15 million, many deals are struck, some working toward the money, some working toward protection for themselves and/or loved ones. Beau realizes that, because of Avery, Carla and Emily are in jeopardy, but he and they may not be fully aware of the imminent risks and the nature of those risks.

That Old Feeling

With Emily involved, Beau may view his job as sheriff with tainted glasses as they try to locate Buck, who is holding Emily and Denise hostage in an unknown location, with Jenny needing to be Beau's voice of reason if he does go down a purely personal path instead of doing his job. They are uncertain if Buck intends Emily and Denise to be his next victims as the Bleeding Heart Killer, or if he is using them as leverage for a different end goal. While not fully trusting her, Beau and Jenny believe they may have no choice but to use Sunny as she may both have knowledge as to Buck's movements, or may be part of his end goal, they able to use her in turn as leverage if the latter be the case. With Beau, Jenny and Sunny going in one direction, Cassie believes that Cormac may have unwitting knowledge as to the mentality and thus movements of his father purely in having spent his life with him.
