It's been six weeks since Ronald has managed to escape yet once again. Jenny, still recovering from her gunshot wound, contemplates a different future than that of a private investigator, while she is unexpectedly reunited with someone from her past, he in yet another persona. Cassie, feeling dejected by Ronald's escape, wants reluctantly to move on - something difficult to do in her mentality - but Mark still being in the picture, both professionally and personally, albeit in a somewhat diminished capacity in the former, may make that even more difficult. Her follow-up on the case will take her closer to home than she would like. And in investigating a car crash, Jenny enters something far more dangerous and sinister, and that will again indirectly but negatively impact Cassie's world.

Huckleberry

Jenny continues her investigation of the car crash, she discovering some evidence which she hopes will lead to the missing driver. She will discover that her reconnecting with Travis will have its obstacles. Cassie decides to step aside from the Dewey case in wanting to protect her family, leaving that matter and in association Ronald to Mark, who should soon be reinstated. Taking its place in Cassie's life is a new case with a new client, a waitress named Tonya who is looking for her missing boyfriend, Sam, Cassie who is unaware that this case is connected to her social circle. Jerrie reaches a milestone in her professional life. Max and Bridger individually contemplate breaking the pact between the two of them and Harper and Madison, which may open them up to further danger. Ren arrives in town looking for the missing money and drugs. And Ronald is in the early stages of understanding what his and Scarlet's lives are like under Wolf's control.

Jenny and Cassie are brought together professionally once again in their two respective cases merging, the car accident associated to Tonya who has gone missing, signs pointing to that she has been abducted. Furthermore, Jenny learns that the case is associated to Travis' undercover work, and while he will help them if he can, he will not jeopardize his own case even if it means they cannot save Tonya. While Ren believes an obviously scared Tonya's assertion that she has no idea of drugs or money and therefore their whereabouts, she still believes Tonya can be a useful asset in finding them. Both Bridger and Max have dangerous close encounters, and while Max, who with Harper is planning on selling the drugs, knows her danger, it is Bridger's which is arguably more potentially lethal. And as Wolf's tough approach has not made Ronald "see the light", Agatha suggests another tact.

Gettin' Right to It

With Tonya still missing, Cassie asks Jenny to speak to Travis once again to ensure that whatever he does with his undercover work will not jeopardize her life in the chance that she is still alive. As Cassie and Jerrie get too close for Ren's comfort, Ren decides on a different tact with Tonya. Things start to close in on Max, Harper, Madison and Bridger as they still continue with their original plans with the drugs and money. These situations start to converge and potentially collide. Meanwhile, Jerrie, while still assisting Cassie on whatever cases come into the agency, seems to be the only person still focused on finding Ronald. In the process, she reveals a little of herself to Mark. And Wolf takes his dealings with a still noncompliant Ronald to the next stage.

Mother Nurture

The convergence of players at Harvey's rural property results in the revealing of some new alliances and the breakdown of others, not all who make it out the other side. In their close encounter with death, Madison, Bridger, Max and Harper have to decide if it is worth the risk to continue with their joint plans, and if not what their next steps to get out of their predicament will be. It also places Jenny in a difficult position with Tubb, who needs to tread lightly which Jenny may be unwilling to do. In reconnecting with someone from her past, Jerrie receives some bittersweet news and makes her contemplate her immediate future. And Ronald unwillingly reveals a bit of himself to Wolfgang which may give him further ammunition in what his true plan for Ronald and Scarlet are.

Heart-shaped Charm

Both Jenny and Cassie's relationships with Travis and Mark respectively take twists and turn despite each of the women being able to admit now to the other that they truly like the men in question. Jenny and Travis' relationship is made all the more tenuous by Travis going deeper undercover, that tenuousness which factors into the equation the current belief by Ren and by association Donno who stole the money and drugs. Cassie and Mark's relationship is no less tenuous as Mark may not fully realize the dangers he is walking into in paying Wolf Legarski a visit in Mark's continuing search for Ronald and Scarlet. And Max may come to the understanding that telling her mother about her current problems was not the best idea. Max, Harper, Madison and Ryan have to figure out next steps based on what is happening around them, including Cassie, as a friend, questioning Max about her key-chain and charm.

Little Boxes

Jenny secretly watching Travis getting cold cocked and dragged away by Dietrich affects how she deals with the investigation moving forward. The box that she and Cassie discover addressed "To the Liar" is an added factor. Unknown to them, more and more people get involved in the drug issues, one who they do discover which affects Cassie indirectly in the form of her father. Max, Harper, Madison and Bridger discover the identity of their protector, they hitting an unexpected hurdle in providing much needed aid to him. Mark finds out in a direct manner that Wolfgang has some similar tendencies to his deceased brother. And stemming from Mark's visit to the farm, Scarlet decides that she needs to take matters into her own hands in sensing an opportunity.

The End Has No End

In connecting on their individual discoveries, Jenny and Cassie find some commonalities and pieces fitting the holes of the puzzle, including Tonya working for Ren, and the recent whereabouts of the drugs themselves. In having this information especially the discovery of what happened to Smiley, and that the Buller cartel is involved in what happened to Harvey, Jenny is able to convince Tubb to let her back on the case, albeit with a warning. Able to connect with him, Jenny also discovers why Travis is treating this case so personally. Jag has arrived in town and has given Ren a deadline to resolve the issue or else. Despite the friendly warning Max, Harper, Bridger and Madison receive from their protector, Bridger and Max individually nonetheless have less than friendly encounters with people involved with the drugs and/or money. Cassie has to deal with the more mundane task of the aging building in which the office is located, that task which becomes less than mundane. Joseph receives some surprise news regarding his bid for the ranch property. In the process of retrieving Phoebe for Scarlet, Ronald can't help but deal with some other issues while he's back in Helena. And arriving "home", Jerrie has the somewhat dreaded reunion with her ailing mother.

Trust Issues

Cassie, and by association Kai, are reeling from Joseph's death. As opposed to it being a burglary gone awry, Cassie is certain that whoever killed him was after her. She, Jenny, and Travis all have unsubstantiated theories about the who, but it's Mark who has the strongest gut feeling stemming from what he saw on Wolf's property. Meanwhile, fissures start to develop among some groups as to the the issue in which they are dealing: Ren and Vinny not only with regard to who is the smarter between the siblings, but how to handle the fact of Bridger having their money; Bridger, Madison, Max and Harper as they have to balance the threats leveled against them individually by different factions after the money; and Wolf and Agatha in what to do about what they consider their failed attempts to rehabilitate both Ronald and Scarlet, the situation made all the more complicated now that they have brought Phoebe back into their midst.

Happy Thoughts

Following their latest encounter, Ronald, Scarlet and Phoebe on one side, and the Legarskis on the other side, try to pick up the pieces away from each other. Jenny is closing in on the cartel, she at least able to get Jag and Dhruv on another charge with the testimony of a witness, which should not be an issue, before she, Tubb and Poppernak work on the core issue of their cartel operation, which also entails finding T-Lock and where he's absconded with the cartel's money. Jenny's task may be made more difficult by Travis taking another tact in his core mission to take down specifically Verr. Cassie decides to accompany Mark to the Legarski farm to follow-up on Mark's gut instinct that Ronald was the person that killed Joseph, and that Ronald had been "hiding" on Legarski property. And Verr's arrival in town shows the dysfunction within the Bhullar family, especially between the siblings in they individually currying their father's favor.

Do No Harm

Wolf, in being confronted by Cassie and Mark, convinces them that they need him to find Ronald, and by association Scarlet, he demanding certain concessions in return. Scarlet has to decide what to do about Ronald's very serious injuries, he not getting immediate medical attention which could lead to his death. After Max's telephone call, Jenny discovers the house ransacked, which means that she has to locate both Max and Rachel in addition to T-Lock, the latter who has no idea of the danger he is in in holding the money. Jenny's mission may place her at odds with Travis, who confides his current status with regard to Dietrich. And Verr makes his own confession to Ren about the reasons behind the family power structure and what he knows about Jag's Montana plans.

A Good Boy

With a seemingly cooperative T-Lock, Jenny sets up a plan to rescue Max and Rachel. A last minute addition to the rescue team is Travis, who, in an unexpected course of events, seizes upon an opportunity to reach his ultimate goal. Cassie and Mark contemplate giving up the most recent search for Ronald and just bring Wolf into custody in having lost the signal to the tracking device. In having commandeered Dr. Cowley at gunpoint to provide medical service to "save" Ronald, Scarlet takes additional measures to ensure that Dr. Cowley complies. And upon a declaration by Verr as to the family's livelihood and life, Ren and Jag have rare moment of cooperation in wanting to discover their father's motivation, especially as it relates to Alicia, who has only been part of the "family" for four months.

The Shipping News

While the Bhullars begin their Montana operations, Ren and Jag continue their search to discover especially what role Alicia is playing in the course of their lives, especially in pulling out of Canada. The siblings' cooperation on the matter is short-lived due to actions of their father, the affected sibling who refuses to discuss what happened. Those working for the Bhullars will discover what happens when things don't go according to plan and when those leading the proceedings don't take ownership. In the process, Dietrich and Bob continue to stake out their positions in whatever financial gains come the Bhullars' way. Travis continues to thread the fine line in his undercover work, leading to Jenny slowly losing trust in him, which is only exacerbated in she speaking to someone who arguably has a better handle on his motivations. And the syndicate returns to take over the situation with Ronald and other issues associated to him.
Episode 14
Dead Man's Float

Jenny starts working on a new case, the difficulty being not only in knowing the victim, but being longtime friends of the victim's family. While Jenny has to ask the difficult questions in determining if it is indeed a homicide - those questions which don't sit well with one family member - she is eventually led down a path that she believes leads back to the Bhullars. With that case, Jenny is placed in a difficult position by Travis and what he shows to her, especially in having talked to his handler and knowing his motivation. Ren and Jag begin to think that each other is the only person each can fully trust as family, which is made more concrete by Veer coming clean as to the reason of moving out of Canada. Tonya gets a stronger feeling about how far she will have to go to maintain her position in the organization and not be placed prematurely six feet under. And positive activity is happening again at Hoyt and Dewell, although not all is yet back to normal with one missing, and with some questions regarding Ronald, Wolf and Scarlet not yet answered.

The Muffin or the Hammer

In an act of survival, Jenny realizes that she made a mistake in that entire situation, placing her not only in hot water with Tubb, but with a probable target on her back by the Bhullars. Regardless, she is determined to take the Bhullars down in knowing that more deaths are imminent unless the collective "they" do something. To her, the Bhullars now includes Travis who she believes has turned and is working for the other side. Amid their grief, Ren and Jag try to figure out who is cutting the drugs with fentanyl, they wanting to resolve this matter without telling their father in not wanting to appear like they are not yet capable of taking over the family operation. Conversely, Alicia places a bug in Veer's ear regarding his relationship with his children. Cassie not only reemerges, but returns to work in feeling the need to be busy. As Denise, Mark and Jerrie sift through cases coming into the agency, Cassie adds an extra level of doubt in Mark's mind about life in general. One of their new clients is Hayden as Richard has gone missing, Hayden believing in his own volition for vigilante justice on whoever provided Mason with the drugs that killed him.

Keys to the Kingdom

The focus at Dewell and Hoyt is finding Richard Ford who didn't go home after Denise spoke to him. Those at the agency know he will put himself at great risk and do something stupid in wanting revenge if they don't find him. This focus necessarily puts a back-burner on the issue of Scarlet and Phoebe's whereabouts. Their investigation into finding Richard unearths another aspect of the case a little closer personally to Richard. And it also shines a light on Mark's personal relationships with both Cassie and Jerrie. Jenny still doesn't know what to make about Travis' association with the Bhullars despite his warnings to her that Veer wants her dead. Regardless, Jenny believes she's making progress on getting to the Bhullars even without Travis' help. Ren and Jag talk about what needs to be done to get the Montana operation back on track, and while they do discuss some potential structural changes, they may be less surprised by Tanya's position within the organization than they are with Alicia's new position in she revealing some hidden talents.

Family Matters

Jenny and Cassie speculate about Richard's current whereabouts. In making an assumption about it, Jenny muses about taking a different tact in the case, while it opens Cassie's eyes to the fact that she needs help for her emotional issues. Jenny has indication that the syndicate has entered their midst, while she begins to lower her expectations about a positive outcome for Travis, especially after a discussion with his handler. And Ren and Jag agree that there needs to be a change at the top of the organization, the question being how they are going to approach their father about it, he who isn't ready to step down.

Catch a Few Fish

Jenny is worried that she won't be able to get Travis out of the hole that he has dug for himself in his singular mission. Cassie offers her a possible way out, that is if Jenny can find Travis before it's too late. What happens will be affected by the fact that Tubb's temporary replacement, Beau Arlen, has arrived on the scene, he a good ol' Texas boy. What happens will also affect the structure of the Bhullars' organization, Ren in particular as the aggressive and opportunistic one who may want to let things play out she believing to her advantage. Alicia will also insert herself in the matter. With Jerrie still in Idaho following leads, Cassie and Mark follow their own lead that was the telephone call she received from Scarlet. Constantly looking over her shoulders in being tracked by the syndicate, Scarlet will eventually have to make a difficult decision.
