Episode 1
Situated at Dreamworld on the Gold Coast, 22 contestants live together in an isolated house for several months. Housemates are under the control of Big Brother, a rule enforcing authority figure who monitors behaviour of the housemates, set tasks and punishments and provides the mechanism for contestants to make external requests. Housemates must avoid being evicted by viewers of the show with the aim of winning a substantial cash prize at the end of the series. It was revealed that the Housemates would play in pairs. The pairs are Katie and Priya, Gemma and Jake, David and Sandra, Dion and Jason, Lisa and Skye, Ryan and Travis, Cat and Sam and Aisha and Lawson. Katie and Priya were selected as the Heads of House and were given their first Power Play. They had to choose one pair to be banished to the fish bowl in the garden. They chose Dion and Jason. They were then offered up to $10,000 of the prize fund each, however if they chose to accept, the House would go without food for a week. They chose to take $10,000 in exchange for a week without food. The amount of money they took was later revealed to the other Housemates - by way of Katie and Priya having to have the $10,000 with them at all times - but, what was not revealed (until Day 4) was that this money was taken from the total prize fund.
Episode 2

Episode 3
Big Brother opened up 'BB's Diner' in order to test Katie and Priya. Throughout the week, Big Brother will tempt the Housemates with food that they do not have access to. However, the food comes at exorbitant prices, and as only Katie and Priya have money, all other Housemates must go through them if they wish to buy anything. Big Brother offered dessert cakes at $100 a slice.

Episode 4
On Day 4, Big Brother offered coffee at $30 a cup, and then later offered a full rib dinner along with two servings of alcohol for $100 a meal.

Episode 5
Housemates living together on the Gold Coast are filmed 24 hours per day with edited highlights broadcast during prime time slots every evening. Housemates must remain in the house at all times, and avoid being evicted by viewers of the show with the aim of winning a substantial cash prize at the end of the series.

Episode 6
Katie and Priya made their last Power Play as the Heads of House. They were able to barter with Big Brother, and, for $1,500 each, were able to grant themselves immunity from the first eviction. It was revealed that the Australian public had chosen Dion and Jason to be the next Heads of House.

Episode 7

Episode 8
Housemates competed in 'The Perfect Pair' task. This task was based around a number of knock-out rounds between pairs, through several elimination stages, with the winning pair at the end receiving a $30,000 grand prize. In the first round, it was Priya and Katie versus David and Sandra. They had to guess whether the rest of their fellow Housemates would say "Yes" or "No" in response to a series of questions or dilemmas. David and Sandra progressed to the next stage. Aisha and Lawson played against Skye and Lisa in a task where they had to guess the reason for the line-up of the Housemates in the garden. This line-up would always correlate "Most" to "Least" likely (to...). Aisha and Lawson progressed to the next stage. Jake and Gemma were involved in a knock-out round between Cat and Travis. The women from each pair had to sit with their backs to their partner, wearing headphones to ensure they could not hear anything. Their partner meanwhile had to make up a profile of them, guessing things such as who their ideal man was and what their guilty pleasure was. Once they had locked in their answer, the women - who had to make their own decision whilst their backs were turned -, had to reveal their answer. If their partner got it right, the pair would earn one point. In the end, Jake and Gemma were the winning pair, progressing to the next stage.

Episode 9
Housemates nominated for the first time and as a result Jake and Gemma, David and Sandra, Cat and Travis and Skye and Lisa all received the most nomination points and were therefore up for eviction this week.

Episode 10
Big Brother Australia is the Australian version of the international Big Brother reality television series. A group of people selected from a national search share a House sealed from the outside world for up to 100 days. Watching over these Housemates is Big Brother - heard only via a fatherly voice. He is the all-seeing all-knowing authoritarian figure who monitors the Housemates' every move. Every week Housemates nominate each other for Eviction in a secret ballot. The viewers then vote to decide who will be Evicted. The last person left wins the major cash prize. Big Brother is the original and unparalleled social experiment. For the most part, the Housemates are left to do as they please in a hyper-real environment largely unpenetrated by the outside world while everything they do is watched by cameras - and ultimately the public. Tasks constitute the only real interference with the Housemates' lives. Basic food and shopping money is provided for staples, however the Housemates have the opportunity of increasing their weekly allowance, or furthering their position in the game, by passing these Tasks. The action unfolds in real time. Everyday living combines with friendship, arguments, love, betrayal and despair to become the stuff of a real-life soap opera.
