Samantha's Wedding Present

Thu, Sep 26, 196830 mins

Endora's latest olive branch to Darrin - a wedding present to Samantha, albeit a gift five years after the fact - is rebuffed by Darrin as he knows that Endora used witchcraft to produce it. Endora in turn believes Darrin's attitude shows how small a person he is, and as such vows revenge. Samantha and Darrin soon find out what Endora's revenge is: she literally makes him a small person. The change is slow and gradual at first, but quickly speeds up until Darrin is only a few inches tall. Endora refuses to change him back until he apologizes, and Darrin refuses to apologize, believing he in the right. Beyond this standoff, Darrin and Samantha face two additional problems. First, Darrin has to contend with a dog that sees him as potential dinner. And second, nosy Gladys Kravitz is certain she saw a shrunken Darrin, and goes to extreme measures to prove to Abner that what she states she saw is indeed true.

Who Samantha hires as her teacher is the officious Johann Sebastian Monroe. But Monroe turns his attention away from Samantha and to Tabitha, as Endora can't resist but continue to endow her granddaughter with witchcraft imbued piano virtuosity, the latest in front of Monroe. As such, he wants to turn Tabitha into a concert pianist - including taking her away from home so that she can tour - to the exclusion of all else. Beyond needing to stop at every mirror to admire himself, Darrin also starts to don a wardrobe befitting a person half his age, believing it is making him look all the more handsome. This attitude and behavior causes a professional problem, not only with Larry, but with their new client, Hascomb Pharmaceuticals, a century old company whose president, Whitney Hascomb, has old fashioned ideas. Samantha figures out that Endora has placed a spell on Darrin. If Samantha can't get Endora to remove the spell, she's going to have to find a way for Darrin, in his young at heart, vain state, to regain Larry and Hascomb's favor.

Weep No More My Willow

Thu, Dec 19, 196830 mins

Mrs. Kravitz has circulated a petition demanding that the Stephenses chop down the sickly willow tree in their front yard. Samantha refuses as the tree has sentimental value since it was a gift from Darrin. Samantha has tried almost everything to restore it back to health, including her own witchcraft, to no avail. So she calls in the last resort: Dr. Bombay. His spell seems to be doing the trick. After Dr. Bombay leaves, Samantha believes she got caught in the downfall of the spell. The incantation contained the phrase "weep and weep and weep" which has led to Samantha weeping uncontrollably whenever she is downwind from the tree. News of Samantha's weeping gets back to Darrin, who believes it is solely about her sadness over the tree. However, both Mrs. Kravitz and Larry believe Samantha's weeping is due to the Stephens' marriage being in trouble since they both saw Darrin with their overly affectionate new female neighbor. While Mrs. Kravitz and Larry's misunderstanding continues, Samantha tries to conjure up Dr. Bombay to remedy her situation. That may be easier said than done as Dr. Bombay's work on the tree was his first such and therefore purely an experiment.

Traynor ends up thinking Darrin is a flake, and Larry believes Darrin has gone crazy, resulting in Larry firing Darrin. When Samantha hears what happened, she knows that it was all her mother's doing.
