As Benjamin Franklin makes a brief fifteen year visit to England animosity develops between England and the Colonies. Franklin's efforts to mediate the disputes are costly to his reputation on both continents and to his relationship with his son. His efforts ultimately fail but the final humiliation is in England which turns Franklin into one of the Colonies foremost revolutionaries.
