JT tries to impress Tess' brothers and discovers that there may be some side effects to the medicine he received from Agent Thomas. Meanwhile, Heather returns to town with a surprise announcement.

Bob & Carol & Vincent & Cat

Captain Ward passes on the order to hand the official investigation into the double agent's murder over to Homeland Security agents Bob and Carol, a couple. Supposing only their inside super-beast project information can crack the case, Vincent and Cat agree to keep on it and attempt teaming up with the couple. As Bob warned, 'marriage planner' Heather goes overboard, as if recuperating her canceled dream wedding. Ballistics help point to drug cartel lord Julio Espinosa, whom the two duos agree to take on. Vincent duly gets suspicious, only minutes before betrayal strikes on his house boat.

Heart of the Matter

After a quiet period, Vincent accuses Catherine of looking for cases where there are none, in turn Catherine accuses Vincent of avoiding cases and their relationship issues by burying himself in medical work. Vincent disagrees and finds himself forced to catch up on his work in the hospital, because of all the time spent working on cases with Catherine. They agree to attempt marriage counselling, however of course they cannot tell the counsellor, Dr. Glenroy, the whole 'beastly' truth. When terminally ill billionaire Zalman suspiciously 'finds' the only compatible donor heart when he needs it, Catherine investigate. She thinks the heart is enhanced from an enhanced donor, who died from not being able to handle all the effects of enhancement. However the heart is stolen and hidden after the thief is murdered. The trail leads to the wife of the ill billionaire. J.T. diagnoses the heart to be indeed enhanced with the experimental serum, then J.T. tries his own developed antidote on the heart and it works. The heart is neutralized and is ready to be transplanted. Sadly the antidote does not seem to work on J.T.'s own beastly self-regeneration powers. J.T. is worried about the long term effects for him.

The Most Dangerous Beast

Once again, Vince hopes for a normal life while Cat can't help waiting for another Beast case, despite Tess's selfish whining about her captain career and assigning Cat a rookie as new NYPD partner. J.T. takes painful risks in an attempt to find an antidote for the serum, fearing his growing powers might ultimately turn him into a beast. Cat is convinced to spot fake Home Security agent Carol, but can't pin her down, while indeed she and Bob are hell-bent on redeeming themselves for the failed double assassination by testing Vince, separated from Cat, as ideal guinea pig Beast. Vince is lured into tracking down and saving innocent Eddie Daniels, then darts-tranquilized, J.T. finds him and resorts to a desperate last-ditch plan.

Chasing Ghosts

JT throws Vincent a surprise bachelor party. Unfortunately, it is interrupted by a mysterious sniper with his sights set on putting a stop to Vincent and Cat's interference with the super human experiments. Cat's family comes to town for a bridal shower arranged by Heather but Cat is distracted by having to visit her imprisoned father to ask for his help.

Both Sides Now

When an unstoppable assassin hunts down Cat and Vincent, they attempt to lure him out of town and away from their loved ones with the ruse that they plan to elope. Meanwhile, tired of being under police protection, JT asks Tess to help him track down a lead while a distracted Heather attempts to focus at her new job.

Shotgun Wedding

The marriage date of Catherine and Vincent approaches. Both friends and many co-workers from the police force of the 125th precinct are invited at the church. Despite the fact that Julianna Keaton wakes up from her coma and manages to escape, everyone agrees not to tell Catherine, because they are determined not to have the wedding cancelled. It seems to work out until the last minute when Julianna tries to abduct Catherine during her limousine ride to the church. Catherine eventually manages to overpower Julianna in the limousine, and when Vincent comes to the rescue Catherine delivers Julianna and the serum to Vincent. Tess confides only in J.T. when it turns out that Liam, the super enhanced person Julianna is afraid off and of whom she has been trying to warn everyone she can, just arrived at JFK-Airport and managed to escape from the authorities. They still decide not to cancel the wedding and while Catherine walks down the aisle, all of the NYPD at the church are informed through text alerts that super-beast Liam has arrived from London. Liam tracks Julianna, leaving carnage and havoc at the church site.

Cat's Out of the Bag

The wedding hasn't ended the dispute whether the hunt for (super)beasts and their creators should dominate the couple's lives. Catherine openly opts out, and even makes Tess tell Captain Ward the case must be officially given back to where it came from Department of Homeland Security (DHS) for Interpol collaboration. Still after the handover the beast-related problems keep coming. First by accident and later purposefully, with help from Catherine's father Bob Reynolds, Heather is completely informed and involved in the story so far, which makes her an integral part of the team against all beast-related conspiracies and crimes. J.T. explains Heather the relevance of Catherine's ancestors' beast related experience, and if Catherine gives it up, it may mean the history of Rebecca and Alistair repeating itself and her generation's death.

Patient X
