Balthazar is over the moon after captain Bach landed in his bed, oblivious of their nocturnal orgy until he assures he having remained a perfect gentleman. Called to the site of a fatally stabbed dog, he finds it is covered in blood, but mainly human. Searching the area yields a corpse and a live baby boy, hidden in a dumpster. The team must solve the past of the parents and vindictive babysitter who used a fake identity.

They collaborate with the town's mayor and gendarmerie (military state police) captain Perbet, who prove involved in a mass conspiracy as Balthazar's smart searching piles up hidden evidence of several crimes. Meanwhile his forensic assistants Jérôme and Fatimdo a poor job covering up the party he dutifully forbade, as expected. Raphael is rewarded with Bach's support to reopen his wife's killer's case, but it's he who swings the judge himself by offering free medical help.

Nadjet dies, forensic medicine apprentices Eddy and Fatim treat their mentor inside, seemingly to no end by the book, so Eddy decides to go a step further then the risky treatment by fever Balthazar invented as a hail Mary, risking his career. Raf's clues and memory help Delgado and Bach identify the mad lab scientist who exacts deadly revenge for a student hazing incident, in time to prevent a next victim exposure.

He and a penniless man are knocked out for transport to castle grounds, where they must run from their and his fellow contestant tries to turn on him, yet he rescues the desperate fool.
