Episode 1
Joe and Enz were born and raised in the same small town in Italy, but their instant connection didn't happen until they found themselves on a little league baseball team together in Canada. Thoughtful Joe had his hands full being a bestie to his spontaneous friend, especially after Enz suffered a major family loss at age 15. As they navigated their wild teens and teams together, they became more like brothers than pals. The duo continued to be inseparable through shared first jobs, weddings and family adventures until Enz realized a retirement dream and moved to a new town. Somehow, the friends who had always lived in tandem both lost their phones and then lost each other with so very much left unsaid. Now, five years and some internet sleuthing later, the former "long hair forever" bffs will finally reunite to create a dessert inspired by their homeland, Pizzelle Cannoli.
Episode 2
Newfoundlanders Clint and Jenn became fast friends on the first day of grade 1 and remained inseparable until they left for different universities. Bold and blunt, Jenn found adventures to push careful Clint out of his comfort zone. In return, Clint trusted Jenn with his deepest secrets and she proved to be his best ally. But after graduation, when Jenn needed her best friend to hear her fears about becoming a mother, something went awry. Now, Jenn's daughter is preparing for university and Jenn, feeling nostalgic, still doesn't know the reason why they lost touch. With more than twenty years since their last catch-up, can Clint and Jenn recapture their friendship while preparing a treat from their shared childhood, Newfoundland Snowballs.
Episode 3
Highschool track stars, Olive and Joy met when they dated two boys who were best friends. The dates disappeared but their friendship stuck. Both preferred to stay home, drink tea and dream of a fancy life while other teens went out to party. Soon after graduation, they had something else in common. Both found themselves single with surprise pregnancies. The young moms, faced with so much uncertainty, decided to tackle this new stage of life together. They raised their baby girls under one roof until they were strong enough to parent alone. But once separated, they struggled to stay in touch. The duo who once got each other through everything, began to fail each other. Tragedy struck for Joy and she didn't have Olive to turn to. Now their children are having children and the grandmothers have realized how much they've missed by falling out of each other's lives. Can remaking a dish they hilariously botched in their youth, a Chicken Curry with Roasted Squash and Wild Rice, bring the high school besties back into each other's lives before it's too late?
Episode 4
Aspiring media mavens Chris and Sue met freshman year in a Radio and Television Broadcasting program. Between classes, coffees and crashing on couches, generous and confident Sue encouraged soft-spoken Chris to speak his mind. In return, he was a rock of calm support when her life was forever changed following the death of her father, a stock car racer. Following this loss, it was an uphill journey to graduate for Sue but Chris was with her every step of the way. Neither expecting that while their lives took similar paths after college, they would completely lose touch. Now, class is back in session for these former students as they reunite to reminisce about their salad days, figure out what went wrong and learn to create a refined version of their favorite study meal, Ragu Bolognese with Fresh Pasta.
Episode 5
Coworkers Heidi and Amy clicked from first ad campaign. Heidi's adventurous personality helped Amy overcome her feelings of being "different" as they indulged in sweet treats and office giggles. Just when they settled into a loyal friendship in and out of the office, Heidi set off for new horizons as an airline attendant. Amy was left concerned her quirky personality might be too much for her glamorous friend without work keeping them together. The duo faltered and lost touch. But now, following some big revelations she is eager to share, Amy feels ready to reconnect. She hopes, with Heidi's support, she will finally feel brave enough to bake an emotionally charged dish, her grandmother's traditional Rugelach.
